Created a simple and usable betting log in Google Sheets
Link to the Google Sheet To get your own editable copy: once open, go to File -> Make a copy Everything in the sheet is automated except these 4 items that you will need to enter for each bet:
Name
Stake
To win
Result
Bet Types If the same bet naming format is used as what’s already in the sheet, the bet "Type" column will be correctly generated. The same naming scheme applies to the right side of the sheet for the individual bets included in parlays.
Parlay is the output of a bet name that includes “Parlay”
Prop is the output of a name the includes “points”, “rebounds”, “assists”, or “prop”
ATS is the output from “+” or “-“ followed immediately by a number
O/U is the output from "o" or "u" followed immediately by a number
ML Fave and ML Dog are the outputs from "ML". The odds value will determine if you're betting on the favorite or underdog.

Just as the title says; how many of you do this, and how do you use it to help you improve? Do you look what kinds of bets you are getting the best percentage payout on, what tracks you do the best at, what types of races you do the best at, etc?

Hey /csgobetting! Currently building myself a personal betting log program, because I was kinda too lazy to keep my speadsheet up to date. It is a very early stage but I will continue to develop it and would release it, if some of you guys could use it. High priority on my to-do list is automation. Adding bets that are active and displaying a notification (+sound?) if there are new bets open. Why? Verdasco v Thiem, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. After having seen Verdasco beat Anderson today I have a newfound love for overs. The guy will not go down without a fight. Though I predict Thiem to win this, I cannot imagine an outcome where the games don’t go over 23. I predict Verdasco to steal a set, but begin to wear down in the later stages due to his fatigue from having played today. Luckily, his strength is in his serve so all we need is for him to hold and be broken as little as possible. Verdasco beat Them in their only matchup, back in Wimbledon in 2015. This was a best out of 5 sets that ended in Verdasco winning it 3-2. A TOTAL OF 53 DAMN GAMES. Verdasco has also been facing stronger competition, oh and did I forget to mention the last 4/5 matches from both of these guys have gone over 23? Let’s make this a max play, thank me later. Why? Verdasco v Thiem, To add to the breakdown of our POTD #1, Verdasco and Thiem’s last and only matchup ended in a max of 3-2 sets, where Verdasco came out successful. This was a best out of five, so these guys played for easily over 3 hours. 5-7, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. The bolded sets where the ones Verdasco won. The ones he lost, you can tell he was only broken once (5-7). To play it safe in case our POTD #1 doesn’t hit, I’m counting for inform Verdasco to steal a set. Vesnina v Vandeweghe, Vandeweghe won their only bout by straight sets 6-2, 6-0. THIS IS HUGE. Vesnina had no chance then. Vandeweghe came from winning her first match in the group stages, Vesnina from losing three in a row. We only need the favourite to win a set. Sock v Pouille, Pouille plays home. Why? Escobedo v Kudla have met twice in the last two years, Escobedo has won both matches by straight sets. They both come into the match with similar form, but Escobedo has faced tougher competition. Let me first say that i am a high spender. (Not a whale, at least i do not think) I have had fun with the, for the lack of a better word, game. but the fact that there is nothing wothwhile to do and no willingness to bring in something to do makes me furious. even just from a business perspective... everytime i see one of those damn newsposts for a new AD i, as a paying Player, feel spit in face by this company. I wait for months on end for something to do. and they can´t do anything. but what they can do is Marketing, marketing and more fucking Marketing... I want to buy Packs, i have no problem with spending big amounts of money as long as i am having fun. But in recent times even i can´t spend anything on the shit packs they are "offering" (shoving in my face). There is nothing to have fun with in this game since some time now... and it very much looks like there won´t be for a long time. I know i am just venting & ranting here but i just can´t anymore with this company... They feel completly inept... Let´s, just for fun, list the Problems: - No Content... ok well thats just par for the course at this point. - No Interest in exploring new things. I mean it was so obvious and easy to just make the Team arena with 3 champion teams and they just didn´t bother... god damn... that at least would have been a new form of meta game. - Their very obviously bugged pull system. Don´t get me wrong i won´t acuse them of doing this intentionaly but it is painfully obvious that the pulls are not truly random and the system has a big duplicate champions problem. wich brings us right into: - No duplicate System. this is just a fucking joke. There just needs to be a dupe system. the fact that there is none feels like a middle finger to the big spenders and playerbase in a whole. - Their ridiculus pricing model. i guarantee them if they just would halve their prices on everything they most likely would sell more than double the amount... they clearly want to use the "micro"-transaction model but fail to understand how and why it works so well... i won´t go into it right here but some of you will understand what i mean. - Champion balance... this just can´t be happening in a game like this and the fact that there are LEGENDARY Champions that are complete and utter garbage is just priceless... (and then there are campions that even recieved multiple "buffs" and still suck ass...) HOW... HOW in the Hell... My spouse and I each have a separate monthly allowance which we budget for in YNAB, with categories "His" and "Hers". We like to make bets or challenges with each other, where the loser has to pay out of their monthly allowance. e.g. If he forgets to floss one day, he owes her $5 out of the "His" category, which goes into the "Hers" category. We keep track of these "transactions" through an unlinked cash account, which we call "Bets Log". It had an initial balance of zero, and should always have a balance of zero. If he loses $5 to her, then there will be two transactions: one outflow of $5 from "His" category, and one inflow of $5 to "Hers" category. Fun way to use YNAB, and it's a surprisingly strong motivator to not lose even $1!
