As a beginner poker player, one of the first lessons you are given about the game of cards is regarding Texas Hold’em. Poker is a game of skill where luck is a factor, and an endless number of nuances surrounds all of this. Learning all the complex variables in poker will take you years of experience. Poker Hand Rankings and Table Actions

Texas Hold’em Rounds
To begin with, you have the pre-flop round where you are given your two-hole cards, and the first blinds are posted to start betting. The small blind is half the amount of the big blind for most cases. Play begins from the big blind in a clockwise direction, and table positions change with each round. In the flop, three community cards get revealed. One new community card is shown in each, the turn and river rounds. Hold’em games are played with anywhere between two to 10 players. After the turn, those left in hand proceed to the showdown where the one with the best five-card poker hand wins the game.

The point of this post is you need questions to play it which are quite hard to come up with in the quantity and quality you need them to be. So I decided to bring it on askreddit to see if any of you have any good ideas :>
In the following I will explain the game(since most of you don't understand german :p) You play after the rules of texas holdem poker with a slight difference. You don't get any cards but instead there are quiz questions( the answer is always a number ). Every player is writing his guess on a piece of paper . This is his "hand " for the round. First round the players start to bet or fold depending on how strong they rate there bet. Instead of cards being revealed every round you are given hints to the correct answer so you can assess the strength of your guess. Just like in poker there are three betting rounds but in this case they are hint 1, hint 2 and then the answer.
Now an example: Gamemaster: How often do you have to fold a piece of paper (0, 099mm thick) so it's as thick as the Milky Way?

Now the players start with their bets
Hint 1: if you fold the piece of paper 51 times it's as thick as the distance between the sun and the earth (220 million kilometers)

Quick FYI: I'm using a 400$/month server, with a GPU, to handle the heavy PoW generation. Within the last month my server has sent over 45.000 transactions, mostly due to the Earn - Watch Videos feature - which is getting quite popular on Venezuela, Indonesia, and Central Africa. So I don't think I'm in love with the future v21 PoW increase xD

Of all poker games, Texas Hold'em is probably the most popular. If you are new to the poker game, a great way is to understand Texas Hold 'em poker strategy. Hold 'em consists of two cards ('hole cards') dealt face-down to each player and then five group cards dealt face-up by the dealer. It is a set of three ('the flop'). An additional single card ('the turn') and another additional card ('the river') — with players having the option of testing, betting, raising, or folding after each deal; i.e., betting may take place before the flop, 'on the river.'
TEXAS HOLD'EM RULES:
Texas Hold'em Poker is a competitive card game played among 2-10 players. To enjoy it, you must follow the Texas Hold'em poker rules.

• One player has the role of dealer. This location is called the button, and after each hand, it rotates in a clockwise direction.
• The two players on the dealer's left are respectively called the small blind and the big blind.
• These two positions require a set number of forced bets, and they are the only players to bring money into the pot before the cards are dealt.
• Each player then gets two face-down cards. These are known as "hole" cards.
• When all hole cards get dealt, the first betting round starts with the player immediately sitting to the left of the big blind. This player can fold, call (big blind match) or raise.
• In Poker, Betting then proceeds in a clockwise direction, with each player having the option to fold, call, bet or increase the sum of the highest bet.
• Three community cards are flipped face-up on the table when the first betting round is complete. That is the flop.
• The betting resumes, in a clockwise direction, with each player having the option to check (if there is no bet in front of them), bet (or raise if a bet is before them), call, or fold.
• When the second betting round gets done, a fourth community card is flipped face-up on the table. That is called a turn.
• The third betting round starts with the remaining first player sitting to the left of the button.
• When the third betting round is over, a fifth community card on the table gets flipped face-up. This is known as the river.
• The fourth betting round begins with the remaining first player sitting to the left of the button. The betting goes clockwise.

Hold 'em is usually played with small and big blinds-two players forced bets. In addition to blinds, Antes (forced contributions by all players) may be used, particularly in later stages of tournaments. A dealer "button" gets used to reflect the player in the dealer's position; with each hand, the dealer button rotates in a clockwise direction, shifting the dealer's location and blinds.
The small blind is placed by the player to the dealer's left and is generally equivalent to half the big blind. The big blind, which the player posts to the small blind's left, is equal to the minimum bet. The blind/ante system in tournament poker develops periodically as the tournament progresses. After one betting round gets finished, the individual will start the next betting round after the big blind and small blinds.
Now that you know poker tricks on Texas Hold'em, you are ready to hit the tables!

A few people asked for my story so I figured I'd share. Writing it out has been good therapy I think.
I first played poker on a camping trip with some friends some 10 years ago when I was 16. We didn't play for money and we used one of those cheapo wallmart sets of chips. None of us had any idea what we were doing. Pretty much every hand was limped family pots and checking down to the river.
A year later my dad's boss invited me to a homegame with his staff. This was the first time I played with someone who knew how to play. It was $10 to play, and my dad's boss won all 3 tournaments he ran that night. For me it was pretty embarassing, folding straights face up because I thought I had a high card. Thinking a straight beats a flush. That kind of thing.
That night I learned that poker was more than just luck, and that good players could make money. So I became determined to learn how to play and how to win.
I started hosting games at my school. I brought my wallmart chip set to school and classmates would play with me on my free periods and during recess. Never for money though.
During this time I started reading some articles about poker strategy online. Or at least that was my intention. After reading some articles about bankroll management and leveling I read an article on continuation betting.
I didn't need to read any more articles because it only took the cbet to make me a BEAST at the school games. Pratically every player in this game was weak-tight and would limp preflop and check/fold any board that they missed. I started to win most sessions just by cbetting 100% of boards.
A couple wins under my belt, combined with my secret weapon (the cbet!), and I knew that I was destined to be a professional.
I started to host real home-games for money (none of us were old enough to play at the casino). Every second Friday we'd play a game with a $5-$10 buy-in (None of us had jobs). It took a few weeks to realise we had to increase the blinds to force the game to end at a reasonable hour, and a few more weeks to figure out a structure that actually made sense.
I tracked all the results of these tournaments over the year, and by the end it was clear that I was the best. I had the largest ROI, the most first places, the most cashes, the most final tables. Every metric that mattered. And it was all thanks to my trusty cbet.
I wanted to go pro. I had no other career aspirations so I stopped paying attention in school and would just day dream about poker. I wanted to play all the time so I signed up to pokerstars under my mum's name because I was still only 17.
Because I had no bankroll on stars I played in the freeroll tournaments every day. The field was usually 9,000 players large, and I played in the 6pm game after school ended but before I went to bed. First place payed $6, so I knew I only needed to win 1 to launch my online poker career.
I quickly learned that 100% cbet was actually not so good against the stations and maniacs that play in freerolls. I had to change the way I played if I wanted to make it to the money.
Eventually, after a few weeks of busting before the first break, I made it to the money and I cashed in at 200th place for 50 cents - which just so happened to be the minimum buy-in for the 1c/2c cash game on stars.
I FINALLY HAD AN ONLINE BANKROLL!
I immediately sat down at a 9-ring cash game and bought in with my prize winnings. It took less than 5 minutes to completely decimate my bankroll. Much to my dismay, the players sitting at the lowest stakes cash game available in the entire country played like poker GODS! What the hell? Every one of my bluffs was called down. Every time I called down a bluff they had it. It was mental, these players were so good. Unlike anyone I had ever played against before.
At this point I knew I'd have to return to my poker studies if I wanted to have any chance at all. So I picked up my very first poker book, "Crushing the Micros", because I was gonna be playing micro stakes of course. One of the early chapters talked about the concept of set-mining and this BLEW. MY. MIND. Needless to say, I didn't feel it was necessary to read the rest of the book.
So, a few weeks later when I cashed my next freeroll tournament and returned to the 1c/2c cash game I completely changed my game. I used a new strategy where I only played pocket pairs preflop against opponents with full stacks. If I missed the flop i'd check/fold, but if I hit my set i'd check raise all in if OOP, otherwise i'd triple barrel pot bet every street if I was IP. It only took a few minutes to win my first stack with a flopped set. So I cashed out of the table and bought in to two tables.
If you've never multi-tabled before, let me tell you, it's the real deal. Twice the hands means twice the speed and that means twice the winnings. It made sense to me that I could scale this as big as possible. Back then, Pokerstars would let you play 24 tables at once - So as soon as my bankroll allowed it I started playing 24 tables at once using my se-mining strategy. The beautiful thing is, it worked!
So, playing 24 tables, only set-mining, I grew my stars bankroll to $1,000. I WAS A POKER GOD and I knew it. I crushed the school games, i crushed the home-game tournaments, and now i was crushing micro-stakes online too.
The day I turned 18 I knew it was time to crush all those fish at the casino. So for my 18th birthday I got my school poker friends (the ones who were 18 anyway) to take a trip to the casino with me.
We each brought $100 with us. 1/2 was too intimidating so the floor offered to open a 1/1 table just for us. Because it was a new table and 1/1 rarely got up, it was just us at the table for most of the night. Luckily for me though, I knew I could crush these guys with my 100% cbet strategy, and throw in a bit of set-mining and my friends stood no chance. I ended up busting every last one of my friends that night yet I only finished $300 up, which didn't make much sense. If I busted them all then shouldn't I be $800 up?
In any case, it didn't matter. I'd just proven to myself I could win at the high stakes casino games. Now I knew beyond a doubt that I could beat any game I played in. Soon I would go pro.
The next year I started uni but because I had no career aspirations besides poker, I'd just stay home and play poker online each day. Sometimes i'd go to class but I'd just play poker on my laptop in class
At some point I picked up holdem manager and imported my hand histories. Over 1 million hands I had a win-rate of 0.5 bb/100 - Yeha I know, I played a shit-load of poker.
It was eye-opening though. I'd played one million hands for pennies, with a win-rate that was hardly even positive. Just imagine if I'd been crushing that whole time instead. If my win rate was 10 bb/100 i'd be up thousands.
So once again, I was determined to get better. I bought books. Lots of books. Like, enough to fill an entire shelf of my bookshelf. And I started reading.
The theory of poker was first. Every time your opponent makes a mistake, you win. Every time you make a mistake, your opponent wins. Yes, got it, basic stuff. What's next?
Professional no limit holdem volume 1. Pot odds, implied odds, stack to pot ratio. This was life-changing stuff. Simple mathemetical concepts I'd never considered before that made so much sense in hindsight. This was it, I didn't need to read any more. Like the cbet and then the set-mine, these concepts were the missing piece I needed to take my game to the next level.
Now I know you're thinking: "Yeah ok, this is great and all but can you get to the part where you lose 200k?". And yes. Yes I can.
So I started skipping uni completely to go to the casino every day. Obviosuly I realised that the rake on 1/1 and 1/2 was fucked, so I started playing 1/3. Even though I was over 1k up online, the buyins for this stake were still HUGE to me and I played pretty scared money. And honestly, I never ended up beating 1/3. I was break-even AT BEST. (I rationalised my results by blaming the high rake. It was unbeatable, you see)
But, I made some friends playing 1/3 at the casino. One guy, Billy, started to invite me to his home game. I LOVED Billy's home game because the rake was lower than the casino's and the buy-in was only $100, which was much more reasonable.
Billy had this rule, where you could buy-in for the max stack on the table. This worked well with my set-mining check-raise all-in strategy so of course I would always buy-in for the max.
One night i'm playing in this game that's been going for 2 days straight and one palyer's got a 2k stack on the table. He's one of the fishier players so I think to myself, why not? And I buy in for my entire roll. 2k.
First hand i get JJ. Flop comes AJ7r. I check, fish bets pot. "Got ya" I think to myself, and I raise all-in.
Snap call. Oh shit. He flips over AA.
I just lost my entire roll that i'd spent the past year grinding for over 1 million+ hands. I'm tilted. Billy asks me if i'm rebuying. That was my entire roll I say.
And then Billy utters the words that you've all been waiting for. "Credit?"
And yeah, basically that's it. I've played in Billy's game ever since. And funnily enough, it turns out I'm not some poker god, i'm just a grade-a egomaniac poker fish. Billy has me for 100k on his books and i've tracked another 100k in losses i've been able to repay. So i'm down 200k over my poker lifetime.
Also, I flunked out of uni. Got married and subsequently divorced due to financial arguments. If you want to know where the money's come from I can assure you it's not my parents or a trust fund or anything like that.

So I came up with something that my players really love. Tried it on Discord and it worked out well, too. I had players interested in playing gamblers, and at first they were discouraged because it was just sort of opposed checks of Perception and Deception, representing bluffing and so forth, with the result just sort of “announced.”
Perhaps it was my failure as a narrator, but things weren’t going so well in the gambling end. They wanted something that felt like a drama driven by gambling, like the movies “Maverick” and “Rounders.” (They all play cards IRL) I felt like I needed a little more structure, at least for myself as a GM, so that I could carry them through it narratively. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far and they’re LOVING IT.
Before I say this, I should just say it’s a start, and I welcome any feedback. Also, all groups are different, so this might only come across as unnecessary to some, but I stress, all groups are different and it has worked for us:
In order for this to work, someone must have a winning hand, and someone must have a losing hand, and all other players must have “in-between hands.” In order to do this, the GM has to do one quick thing to prepare the sabacc game. Instead of the tedious ordeal of telling everyone what cards they have (suits and values and such), the GM simply rolls a percentage die, and assigns everyone hands based on numerical value—the higher the number rolled, the better a PC or NPC’s hand. Simple.
Let your players know that a “bad hand” is 1-30, an “okay hand” is 31-60, and a “good hand” is 70-100. The GM writes down what each PC has on a slip of paper and hands it out, face down to each player (For example, you just write “bad”, “okay,” or “good”, not the actual numerical value). That way, the PCs at the table don’t know what kind of hands their friends have, and if the player has a “good hand” they won’t know if someone has a better “good hand.” They just know about how good their own hand is, in the greater game of sabacc. (This represents having a full house, but not knowing if someone has a straight flush, as it were.)
Then, of course, the GM secretly writes down what kind of hands each of the NPCs have (for this, I recommend not having more than three NPCs playing the game, and two NPCs seems to be ideal).
A GAMBLING CHARACTER’S TURN It’s similar to combat. You get one Maneuver, which does not typically require a skill check…
…and maybe take a SECOND Maneuver by suffering 1 Strain, perhaps by sipping a strong alcoholic beverage to gather your courage, or just because you are stressed from trying to do too much in one round while keeping your head in the game…
And now you begin your rounds of gameplay, just like combat.
IMPORTANT RULE: At the end of each round, all players who have not folded MUST put in either 100 credits, 1,000 credits, or whatever (your choice on the stakes), in order to stay in. And they must, of course, ante up at the beginning of each round.
Here are your Maneuvers.
Raise: The player can simply raise the amount in the Pot, to pretty much whatever they can afford.
Chit-chat: Make small talk while gambling, making it seem nonchalant. Because there is sometimes a lot of talk around the table, and other times quiet because people are trying to concentrate in peace, you get this one Maneuver to try and squeeze in some questions without being annoying to the NPCs, or before someone else starts talking to dealing cards. Perhaps you ask one of the NPCs when a shipment of illegal spice is set to come in, or try and subtly tell a fellow PC what sort of hand you’ve got, so you two can coordinate and team up against the other NPCs. If you choose to chat up an NPC, you can either use Charm on an opposed roll to win friends, which grants you a boost die on all Deception, Skullduggery, and Perception rolls until the end of your next turn (because you’ve got the bead on how these players think and move), or let the GM roll a percentage die: on a 1-10, one of the NPCs lets something vital slip through casual conversation. (EXAMPLE: “I don’t know if Jabba’s gonna be happy about what Sasha did to his majordomo. Could be trouble…”)
Ask For Another Card: This can be done only twice per game of cards. Any player can do it, PC or NPC (this is like the flop, turn, and river in Texas Holdem). Everyone is “dealt” a new card (narratively), so the GM has to re-roll the percentage die again, determining what everyone’s new hand ranking is by adding whatever he rolled to their previous “hand values.” To be clear, in this weird game of sabacc, a person can use the below “Call” action to end all gameplay and betting, forgoing the right to an extra card, and simply hope they win…but the longer they keep NPCs and other PCs talking, the more the betting goes up. (As stated, at the end of each round, extra credits are always added to the Pot) TIP: The reason you might ask for another card is because your current hand sucks.
Call: End the betting and reveal all cards to see who has the highest hand. Whoever has the highest hand (as previously recorded by the GM) is the winner.
Fold: Simply fold and bow out of this round of cards. You do not get back the money you’ve already bet.
…and now you get one Action.
AND THOSE ACTIONS ARE…
Bluff: Send out (false) vibes that other NPCs pick up on, making them think you have cards that you don’t, or don’t have cards that you do. Perform a Deception check, using this method: Take the average Perception rank of all NPCs, that’s your Difficulty dice pool. For each NPC you are trying to bluff, upgrade a Difficulty die. On a success, you bluff your targeted opponent(s), and they each suffer 1 setback die on any gauging rolls until the end of the PC’s next round. Which brings us to…
Gauge: Using this action, any Player Character who makes a successful Perception check is able to tell which players have a strong hand and who has a weak hand, and recovers 1 point of strain (because he can now relax a bit, now that he knows who has what cards).
Put a Skifter Into Play: In old canon, a “skifter” was a fake sabacc card that could change values to whatever you wanted. So, in this action, you surreptitiously place a skifter into your hand, replacing another card, using a Skullduggery check to make sure you are not seen. On a success, you not only do it, but you now have the winning hand! You just have to wait until next round to gain a maneuver and use the Call maneuver to end the game and win! The Skullduggery check is this: However many NPCs there are, that’s the number of Difficulty dice—then, for every strain you have suffered so far, that’s how many Difficulty dice are upgraded (reflecting the level of stress and/or alcohol you are under, etc.).
Stack the Deck: This can be done only at the end of a game of cards. You offer to be the one to re-shuffle the cards and deal. On a successful Skullduggery check, you stack the deck to your liking, giving the winning hand next round to whomever you want, and the worst hand to whomever you want, as well. The Skullduggery check is done the same as “Put a Skifter Into Play.” If you fail with NO THREATS, you merely fail to do it. If you fail WITH THREATS, then you are spotted trying to stack the deck by the number of NPCs equal to your Threats, and must now perform a hard Deception check to put their minds at ease and convince them you really weren’t trying to cheat.
Throw Someone Off Their Game: A player smiles lasciviously at an NPC, or blows cigarra smoke in his face, or does something else annoying to distract and put the NPC off his or her game. Perform either an opposed Skullduggery check, or an opposed Charm check, either of which will be opposed by the NPC’s Resilience. If the NPC fails, they are now “rattled,” and suffer a Setback die on all their next checks, no matter who the checks are against.
Cheat: This is separate from the Skifter and Stack The Deck actions above because, while those were very specific, and the skifter was added in because of my love for Star Wars lore, this “Cheat” action is here for all the generalities that may be imposed by the greater narrative. Perhaps one of your players set up a droid across the cantina to zoom in on an NPC’s cards and read what sort of hand he’s got, and so the droid has to signal your player, so your player needs to do some kind of Perception check to pick up on what the droid is trying to relay. In any case, this is a major action, and needs to either be opposed or have an average check, since all eyes are on the players, and everyone is on the lookout for a cheater…
SO THAT'S IT! As a side note, we don't do this for every sabacc or pazaak game, just for the ones where they've entered a tournament or feel like the stakes should be high. It has helped me a bit as a GM as a kind of "training wheels" for this system when it comes to gambling, and I'm getting better at NOT using it now. Anyways, there it is.

There’s a whole wide world of opportunities in the virtual realm. While you’re sitting at home, exacerbating the indentations on your sofa cushions, you could be doing a whole lot more than staring blankly at the television. Sure, Tiger King enraptured us all for a brief moment, but there’s only so much binge-Marat honing enjoyment to be had from Netflix. At some point, the need for social interaction takes over, and it’s at that moment that I hope the following words of wisdom will provide you solace, and some much needed brainwave activity.
I’m talking about learning a new way to play games with your friends. Not just any game, but the most stimulating card game on the planet – poker. It’s a game that encompasses every facet of focal intensity and interactivity. In essence, the more you pay attention, the more you can win, and if you’re playing at the right places, you could be winning some real money. Even playing for fun awards bragging rights to the winner, and I can assure you, it feels good to be king or queen of the roost. The remainder of this informational text assumes that you already have the necessary knowledge to play poker. Now on to the real reason you’re here. I’m going to start with a brief commentary on what you can expect from the experience. If you want to skip this and get straight to the games section, click here or scroll on a bit further.
How it Works: Thanks to vast technological breakthroughs over the last decade, playing poker on an app, or on a desktop or laptop computer, is largely similar to playing in a real-life setting. The only difference is, of course, that your friends aren’t really seated across the table from you. Instead, they are viewing the same virtual poker table on the screen of their own chosen device.
Fairness: The cards are randomly shuffled and dealt by a random number generator, or RNG. The RNG ensures that the cards are randomized just as well as a physical deck shuffled by a mechanical shuffling machine, setting the scene for an utterly unpredictable game. Yes, it is possible for a programmer to create an app with a ‘stacked-deck’, so to speak, but rest assured, all of the platforms listed on this website are RNG-certified for fairness.
Game Play: Each player views their own cards, just as they would in a real life setting. A variety of game play options are available at the tap of a mouse or finger, including all playing and betting options (Fold, Check, Bet, and Raise). It’s all pretty self-explanatory once you get seated at a table. So long as you are familiar with the rules of the game you’re playing, you should have no problems progressing through a hand.
Interaction: Communicating with your opponents during an online multiplayer poker game is always an option; although how you do it will be determined by the app/website you choose to play on. Some are far more advanced than others. On the lowest level, you’ll have to type your conversation in a chat box. At the higher end of the scale, you may have microphone audio, or even video chat capabilities. Just remember that the greater the communication quality, the greater quality device you may need to play on.
Real Money: Most players are content to play poker with friends for fun, using play-money chips, but not everyone. If you want to play for real money, your options will be more limited. First of all, you must live in a country like Canada, where online gambling is not prohibited by law. “Who the fuck stealths a space station?”
SPAT Bravo was clustered around a projector in the meeting room, which was serving as a makeshift window by projecting the video feed from the nose of the ship.
Medium stepped back before answering Songbird. “Probably people with lots of money and even more secrets.”
The hangar they glided into was huge. Catwalks hung in near zero G, and the huge doors closed silently behind them. Ships sat in a row along the dock, held in the grip of gantry arms, most of them as black and impossible to look at as the Blackdart. A few were ordinary shuttles, and at the end was a luxury yacht, the mother of pearl hull almost glowing in the soft lighting.
The Agents led the way down the ramp, the microgravity projectors in the floor of the catwalk grabbing at their feet as they stepped out of the Blackdart’s artificial gravity. Sturm looked back to the Prisoner-Soldiers. “Two rules. Well, two in addition to 'sidearms only, no cannons.' One, don’t be idiots. Two, don’t wander off.” He pointed up, drawing their gaze to the turrets mounted along the walls. The guns sat motionless, but had the complex barrels that gave them away as Gravity guns. The eight they could see would have been enough to turn a dreadnought into metallic mulch.
Jack shrugged. “Hey man, you brought us. Don’t be all surprised if we do what we do.”
Graves didn’t look back or stop walking, but said, “It was Handler’s idea. He likes you. The rest of the CSE teams, not so much. Try not to pick a fight with anyone, and especially don’t pick a fight with any of the Minister’s people. They’re more hardcore than me.”
The space station’s hallways were immaculately clean. Every surface of the walls, floors, and even the ceiling were coated in white, sterile plastics, and with the soft white lighting, gave the halls a slightly unreal but very peaceful look. The doors they passed were sealed and locked, and even their keypads were the same sterile plastics as everything else.
It made Jack feel like he was in the waiting room for the afterlife, which was probably the intended effect. The fact that it kind of pissed him off was probably not the intended effect.
Agent Graves stopped at a door that looked just like all the other doors they had passed. He tapped in a keycode, carefully blocking the prisoners’ view of it as he did, and the door opened onto a scene out of Jack’s worst dreams.
The room was a perfectly ordinary rec room. There was a pool table along the right hand wall, a card table on the left, a bar, some tables and chairs scattered around the room, and a neo-retro jukebox in the corner playing a power-rock ballad from a few years ago.
And every single person in the room was an Agent. The criminal’s instinct in Jack’s soul screamed at him to act casual and get the fuck out.
He counted twenty-two of them in the large room, and every single one of them looked up when the door opened. After just enough time for Jack’s heart rate to jump to a million beats per minute, the Agents in the room went back to what they had been doing. A heavyset Agent in an artfully rumpled linen suit and a floral tie waved at them from the card table. “How’s it going Graves?”
Graves nodded back professionally. “Finley. Heard anything yet?”
Agent Finley shook his head. “Nah. The bosses are still in their little powwow. Now one of you get over here, these guys are about out of money for me to take.”
Sturm headed to the poker table and hopped up into an empty chair that was a little too tall for him. Akash went to the pool table, Bel found a spot at a table with three Agents staring into nothing, or more likely the displays inside their helmets, and Graves made a beeline for a dartboard and the small group clustered in front of it.
SPAT Bravo mostly stood in the doorway, eyeing the room uncomfortably. After a long, awkward moment, the giant behind the bar waved them over.
The team took seats at the bar. The towering agent started pulling pints and sliding them across the polished wood bartop. “Don’t look so spooked. You’re with Mister Handler, and that makes you golden as far as these guys are concerned. I’m Agent Bane.”
Jack stared at the beer for a long moment. He hadn’t had a beer in years, since before he’d been incarcerated. Slowly, reverently, he picked it up and sipped it. He’d never tasted anything so good. Beside him, his squad sipped, slurped, guzzled, and quaffed.
After a long moment, Jack opened his eyes again. Agent Banes was looking at him. "Yeah, I figured you guys probably needed that."
Feeling the muscles in the back of his neck start to unkink, Jack decided he liked Bane. "Thanks." Agent Bane shrugged, wordlessly acknowledging the sentiment. Jack looked over the assemblage of Agents. "So, how often do you guys get each other mixed up, with all the identical helmets?" he asked Bane.
Bane chuckled, the voice anonymizer mangling the sound. "Never. The display in here has popups to identify people. I knew who you guys were the second you came into view. I could pull up your records if I could get the hang of the interface, but they pushed out a software update that broke all my shortcuts."
"Superspies get software updates?" asked Miski.
"Constantly."
Jack had no response, so he just watched the crowd. He was starting to notice the differences in the Agents' suits. Six of them were wearing pilots' flightsuits. Three, including Finley over at the card table, were wearing slightly less formal suits. The ones that Bel had joined, the ones spacing out, were dressed in Tech-Fashion, their suits a shimmery black. He was starting to develope a theory. "Hey, Bane. The different suit styles. That's a team thing, right? How come none of the teams have the same number of people?"
Bane shrugged. "Good eye. It's all down to handler preference. I work with Mister Johns, and I'm technically the only Agent he has, but the Captain runs a team of six. Most teams are three to five, but that's just because it's a good number, not anything official. Mister Handler's predecessor ran a fifteen-man team."
The team sat quietly for a while. Bane did not pull any more pints, which Jack thought was probably a good idea. Across the room, Akash was proving to be a terrible pool player while Graves was starting to make increasingly impossible trick shots with darts. After a while, Crunch spoke up, his face wearing a twisty snarl that, for him, suggested thoughtful confusion. "What's with the names?"
"What about them?" Bane asked.
"Your handler is Mister Johns. There's 'the Captain,' and Graves mentioned 'the Minister.' How come our handler is Mister Handler?"
Banes laughed. "Oh, that. It's short for 'the Animal Handler.' Every handler has a thing, and yours picks out the real monsters, so his team is The Zoo."
"Hey," Jack started to protest, "that's…." He looked at his team. "... fair enough." Sweetums started laughing, and drowned out every conversation in the room. He ignored the faceless glares from the Agents with the practiced ease of a man who had never once respected an authority figure. Eventually, he stopped, wiping at his watering eyes and smiling a huge smile.
For the first time in a long time, the prisoners just sat, with nothing to do, no one to yell at them, and no one trying to kill them. After a while, Bane asked them what they wanted to eat, and not long after, dinner arrived for everyone, Agents and prisoners alike. The autochef turned out to be excellent, and over dinner, Jack discovered that it could even make the little Cuban coffees he liked.
Late in the evening, the team had unwound and started to mix with the Agents. Jack was taking five of them and Medium to the cleaners at Mariner Holdem, once he told them all to wait a few seconds before making a play so Medium couldn't cheat.
"Seriously, where'd you learn to play?" asked Agent Finley. "I thought I was the best here."
Jack grinned from over his pile of chips. "Little place called Haven Hive. The cartel boys ran half a dozen games. You ever pass through there, ask around for Sharky and tell him Havok says you're cool."
"No thanks, I'm losing enough to you already."
Agent Connery called Medium's bet. Jack liked him. He seemed like an old school sort of gentleman, all affable charm under a thick layer of confidence and class, poured into an absolutely immaculate Imperial-style suit. "You know, I hate to mention it, but once all this dies down, you should talk to the records department."
"Why?" Jack folded before he got in too deep.
"Someone has spelled your callsign incorrectly."
Jack blinked. "H-A-V-O-K?"
Connery nodded. "It should be spelled with a C." After a pause, he added, "Unless it's meant to be like that. An artistic liberty taken with the spelling."
Embarrassment started to wash over Jack as he suddenly realized he had been spelling his own nickname wrong for his entire adult life.
He didn't have time to really absorb the embarrassment. Medium's head snapped towards the center of the room. On instinct and trust for the precognitiant, Jack went for his pistol. Medium bolted out of his seat, dashing towards the empty area in the middle of the room, yelling "Bad guys!"
The world blinked. It looked exactly as though Jack had blinked, but his eyelids hadn't moved. A flicker of black, and fifteen men and women in cultist robes were standing there, scatterguns raised at the Agents around them in what had to have been the most perfect ambush ever laid.
Except that Medium was ready.
He decapitated two with one sword strike even as they appeared, and then he was in their midst. Jack was already snapping off shots, the fraction of a second's warning enough to turn the ambush around. What surprised him was that it was enough for some of the Agents as well. The prisoners had practice with last-second warnings from Medium, but the Agents were just that damn good. Half the tables in the room were being flipped up to make cover.
The barest fraction of a second after Jack's first shot burst the skull of a cultist, before the woman even had time to start falling, Graves split the air with the sound of thunder. His hand cannon punched a round through one cultist, and the fragments of the ceramic bullet shredded a second as they ripped out the man's back. Then he was rushing in, and proving that Jack had been right the first time they met. He was absolutely a killing machine.
Jack snapped off another shot. He didn't worry about hitting Medium, he probably couldn't if he tried, but Graves was harder to aim around. His charge ended with a disemboweled Jrot, the ape-like xeno howling as he dropped, and Graves was already turning away from him to kick a man hard in the back, sending stumbling over an upturned table and right into Sturm's hands. "Bag him," Graves said, before he and Medium cut through the cult killteam, him with hard, brutally efficient motions and Medium with the grace of a dancer who knows his routine perfectly.
In a few seconds, the cultists were dead. Not one had gotten a shot off before they died, some to gunfire from Jack or the other Agents, but most of them to Medium and Graves. Sturm finished breaking the limbs of the cultist hurled into his grasp, calmly ignoring the screams as he effectively subdued the man.
Most of the Agents in the room touched the sides of their helmets, listening to some message that the prisoners weren't privy to. Jack finally noticed the blaring of distant alarms.
One of the tech-fashion Agents glanced around at the prisoners, then made a flicking motion with his hands, patching them in. In Jack's ear, a calm, computerized voice said, "Intruders detected. Means of ingress unknown. Prepare to repel boarders."

I hope you've all had a good week so far with whatever's been happening in your lives. If you haven't had such a good week so far, I'm wishing the best for you and hope I can brighten your day even a little bit with this post.
Before we get started, let's refresh your memory of last chapter to get you back on betting track!

Last Time on One Piece

So, let's talk about that chapter.
With the final preparations for the Onigashima raid winding down, Franky and Usopp finish constructing the ships that get destroyed in like 10 more pages, Luffy, Bropper, and Brook don samurai outfits, and Sanji spills the beans that Zoro's an inferior pirate in every fashion. I mean, he lost an eye, got a scar while in the East Blue, and got a hundreds-year-old national treasure stolen by a fox. How daft does one have to be? Take that, Zorotards bounty is lower than his. Oda subtly hints the presence of Nekomamushi and a full moon for the minks on Wano through roughly a page of dialogue saying exactly that'll happen later this arc. Luffy notes that even though Big Mom's on Wano, Jinbe has yet to arrive, and Oda subtly hints that he might be alive by having Luffy and Zoro say that exact line three times in one panel. Holdem's investigation into who stole food from Orochi's farm is nearly stopped by O-Tsuru, Kin'emon's wife, until the entire village decides they'd rather die then and there than live until the Scabbards ended Orochi's reign in like two days max. With the beginning of Orochi's plan to destroy the Scabbards' war, the Sunny is blown up for the second time in 60 chapters and the ships built by Usopp and Franky are sunk. Back in the present, the Scabbards request of Momo to set sail is turned down, leading for Shinobu to hold back the young Kozuki heir while the samurai set off alone to carry out their duty. Before the chapter ends, we turn back the clock to the Wano Kuni of 39 years past, where an infamous and charismatic man returned home to the Flower Capital, the rightful shogun of the Wano Country, Kozuki Oden.
It seems Oda really needs to get better drawing pens because the ink keeps spilling all over Oden every time we see him and we can't see what he looks like. Regardless, I'm excited to actually see this legendary man who charmed the two greatest pirates to ever sail the seas.
With that out of the way, let's get into the real meat of the thread.

Chapter 960 Betting

The Bets of the Week

One of the biggest and most important questions brought up in One Piece in recent times is the whereabouts of our favorite Whale Shark fishman, Jinbe. Since the end of the Whole Cake Island arc where Jinbe, the Sun Pirates, and Germa 66 diverted the Big Mom Pirates to allow the Strawhats to escape Totland, we've only seen Jinbe in flashbacks and discussion about the missing Strawhat. With Oda's track record in killing off characters, until we've actually seen a body, there's no telling exactly what's happened to our nakama.
Chapter 959 had a decent portion dedicated to Luffy awaiting Jinbe to fulfill their promise and reunite with his captain in Wano after escaping from Whole Cake, with Zoro saying that if he's alive he'd come. Well, dear audience, that's the topic of this bet: Jinbe's arrival.

I can't believe it, the Sunny's gone! What's Franky gonna think?
Hold on, this just in. I seem to have mixed up Chapter 959 with Chapter 900 for a second there. I apologize for the mistake, but I swear there was some serious déjà vu there for a second...
Dear audience, was the Sunny actually destroyed by Orochi's men?

As I mentioned during the previous chapter recap, I'm very excited for the Oden flashback. We're turning back the clock 39 years, which places us suspiciously close in time to the God Valley Incident of 38 years prior. Is there any coincidence? Probably not, but it's interesting nonetheless. Even so, 39 years ago puts us definitely over a decade before Oden joined Roger on his final voyage and, based on the dialogue from the end of 959, it seems this is before he left Wano successfully, meaning he's also yet to join Whitebeard on the sea.
I'm personally very excited to see Oden's family life in and around Wano. I want to see his father, I want to see Yasuie, I want to see the other Daimyo. But, the two things I want to see more than anything else regarding Oden's past are his starting a family with Toki Slice of Life and Spring rom-com weebs rise up and his relationship with Orochi before the now Shogun allied with Kaido and betrayed the Kozuki.
With so much stuff possibly on the table, I can't possibly make a bet about what all could happen, but instead, I'll ask how much we'll see.

Unfortunately for you big boys out there who went all-in last week, you barely get any money to play with this week since you lost it all last time! Before we get started, let's refresh your memory of last chapter to get you back on betting track!

Last Time on One Piece

Jumping right back into the chaos in the Flower Capital, Zoro found himself unable to get past Kyoshiro to take down Orochi, allowing for the Oniwabanshu Squad to arrive on the scene. Sanji passes Toko off to Usopp, who runs for safety while Sanji fights Drake. Brook protects Hiyori by scaring away the Oniwabanshu with his soul while other members of the squad chase her down. Law reaches the Ratetsu jail only to find Shachi and Penguin of his crew, as Bepo is being held elsewhere. On top of that, Hawkins, who arrives to combat Law, reveals that he's turned his beloved crewmates into voodoo lives of his, making their jailbreak impossible. Sanji is prevented from rushing to the beautiful Hiyori's aid by Drake and is shocked to see Zoro save her instead. We then visit Ashura, who is justifiably angry that Kin'emon and Inuarashi framed them for the attack on Holdem's forces, leading Kin'emon to apologize wholeheartedly for not just that, but for being inconsiderate about his feelings after their 20 years' absence. Kin'emon invites Ashura to join them in the raid on Onigashima, who tells the samurai he needs to show him something first. Back in Udon, Big Mom busts down the gate and everyone understandably shits themselves upon seeing a Yonkou invade. Big Mom smells o-shiruko, and calls for Chopper's group to follow her inside before she asks Queen for the tasty treat she was promised. Queen won't back down and let someone else eat his favorite food, so to show Big Mom who's the boss in Udon, Queen fucking dies learns the hard way that Yonkou will be Yonkou.
Another stellar chapter, let's keep this streak going, Oda! But, with that out of the way, let's get into the real meat of the thread...

Chapter 946 Betting

With all the chaos currently ravaging not just the Ratetsu Prisoner District but now the Flower Capital too, the odds are being stacked against our heroes. With big players like Kyoshiro, X Drake, Hawkins, the Oniwabanshu, the countless fodder and probably some others too on the scene, our heroes have some formidable matchups preventing a clean escape.
And, as it is right now, Zoro can't overcome Kyoshiro, Law can't fight Hawkins, Usopp's running away as usual and Hiyori's too important to risk her safety. So, the only option for our heroes is to run from the scene and regroup at a later time and location. Dear audience, will the Strawhat Alliance manage to escape from the Flower Capital?

• A. Each and every one of the Alliance will escape safely from the scene! Odds 1:2
  
• B. Someone in the Alliance will be captured before they can escape, but the rest will! Odds 1:3

Bet 326

Following Lord Jahsuie Yasuie's sacrifice, Kin'emon was inspired to change his approach in recruiting Ashura Douji to the Kozuki cause. As Kin said, he acted rashly and without consideration for how Ashura's loyalties and mindset would change in the 20-year absence of the time travel gang. So, now with Yasuie's conviction backing him, Kin bowed before Ashura and begged for forgiveness, telling him the planned raid date on Onigashima before asking for his aid one more time.
However, Ashura Douji is a changed man. 20 years is a lot of time, and it certainly will change someone. Not just the isolation, loneliness, and the bleak days under Kaido's rule, but the fact that old friends from 20-years past came back acting like everything was the exact same. On top of that, they immediately started causing trouble for him, framing him for crimes and indirectly causing his hideout to be burned to the ground. Despite all this, perhaps Ashura has come around, as rather than immediately turn Kin'emon down like usual, he told the samurai to follow him to see something he wanted to show them. Dear audience, what does Ashura Douji want to show Kin'emon and Inuarashi?

Another exciting week of betting and one without, mb has come and gone, and I'm glad to share some results with you all today! We have a lot to sift through today since we have two chapters to analyze, so, without further ado, let's get right into the results!

Chapter 949 Results

Chapter 949 Summary

So, let's talk about that chapter.
Fighting off the gifter prison guards, Luffy, Chopper, Hyougoro, and the Scabbards managed to hold off the enemy forces. Raizo managed to pass off Kid and Killer's keys to them while they watched the battle in silence. Daifugo unleashed one of Queen's inventions, an excitement bullet that infects those hit with the Mummy Virus which can be further spread by touch. With the prisoners infected and facing down the might of just an invention of one of Kaido's troops, they decided that standing with the Kozuki was a fruitless endeavor. Despite this, Luffy bear-hugged the infected prisoners, saying that the "overwhelming power" belonging to Kaido's forces they spoke of has no effect on him. Luffy brought to light that even if they hadn't come to help, the "normal" life the prisoners lived was nothing more than slavery and that, even though he is an outsider to Wano, he made a promise to Tama that he would make sure nobody ever had to worry about food in Wano again which he'll accomplish by defeating Kaido. With the prisoners finally starting to waver in their convictions, Old Maid prepared to launch an excitement shell into the crowd to infect everyone but was stopped by Luffy who prevented a dangerous future he saw. With his defeat of the warden, the prisoners finally decided to rebel, leading to the conquest of Udon unknown to everyone else in Wano.
If you didn't get chills from reading Luffy's declaration in this chapter you're perfectly entitled to your feelings and I won't judge you for them you are a heartless buffoon. Luffy has shown in these past few arcs just why he is the captain, and I can't wait to see more.
So, with the summary over with, let's all get right into the...

Will the Udon Prisoners be inspired to join the cause of overthrowing Kaido and Orochi?
With Luffy's display and inspirational speech in Chapter 949, it's no surprise that the prisoners would warm up to the idea of fighting for their freedom and backing a powerful captain. As we saw in the final pages of the chapter, even in the face of the Mummy Virus, the prisoners chose to rebel and conquer the Udon Prison. Outcome B for Bet 336 is correct!

How many pages will there be in Chapter 949?
Dear audience, I counted the pages, and for the ninth edition in a row we came to a grand total of 17 pages we came to a grand total of a whopping 19 pages! Outcome C for Bet 338 is correct!

What will be the main focus of Chapter 949?
Dear audience, I counted the pages and came to a conclusion.
Of the 19 pages this week, 2 were devoted to a color spread, and 17 were devoted to this week's most-focused on storyline: Luffy's adventure in the Udon Mines! Outcome A for Bet 339 is correct!

Has Caribou abandoned the Strawhat Alliance and fled Udon?
Just as he has been these past few chapters, the super rookie Caribou has been MIA from the storyline, meaning we don't know just where he stands. Although he seemed to be warming up to Luffy and Raizo, Caribou is also a self-preserving individual, so we can't be sure one way or the other if he's abandoned the Strawhats or not. Bet 335 is unresolved!

Bet 337

Will the return of Oden's Scabbards be brought to Kaido and/or Orochi's attention?
While countless gifters and prison guards working for Kaido and/or Orochi were present to see some of the Nine Red Scabbards reveal their identities to the Udon Prisoners, at the same time they haven't been able to do much as of now. It seems as though things are being kept under wraps in Udon for the moment, but I'll let this bet sit just a little longer to be sure that a single guard didn't escape in the chaos. Bet 337 is unresolved!

Weekly Mini-Game

This week's mini-game was centered around Oden's Nine Red Scabbards, with your task being to guess in how many panels one or multiple members of the Scabbards would physically appear.
Dear audience, I counted them up, and we came to a grand total of a whopping 20 panels! Unfortunately, no one guessed 100% correctly, but we did have one lucky contestant who guessed closer than anyone else this week, u/onnsn with a guess of 21! With his guess, he lays claim to a whopping 750,000 Beli prize this week!

And with that, we've come to the end of the payouts for this week. However, we're not done with the results thread just yet, we've got more in store for you all!
While we didn't have an edition for B&B for Chapter 950, that doesn't mean payouts are out of question. In fact, we've got lots of frozen bets to resolve after both Chapters 949 and 950, so we'll detail that in our next section of the thread.

Chapter 950 Results

Chapter 950 Summary

So, let's talk about that chapter.
Freed from their seastone handcuffs, Kid and Killer declined Luffy's invitation to join his fight against Kaido after resolving to never make alliances again after being abandoned by Hawkins and Apoo. Kid and Killer then left Udon with the goal of retrieving the rest of their crew, resolving to walk their own path. Meanwhile, the Udon prisoners were having a hard time believing that some of the Scabbards had time traveled 20 years from the past, believing that Raizo was fibbing to try and seem younger. Chopper frantically worked on a cure for Queen's mummy virus as, although he had received some poison immunity from his fight with Magellan, Luffy had been greatly ravaged by the virus. Momo and Luffy got into a quick argument as Luffy pushed the young heir out into view of the prisoners who immediately bowed before him, the son of the great ruler Oden, finally having a dream to rally behind. Kawamatsu parted ways with the Udon crowd stating he was needed elsewhere though he promised to return by the promised date. In Kuri, Ashura Douji revealed that 10 years ago many of the samurai who were waiting for the Scabbards' return grew impatient and instead went off to their deaths to try and defeat Kaido. With that weight, Ashura questioned the 20-year wait which Inuarashi and Kin'emon stated there must have been a reason for the delay. Finally resolving to fight for the Kozuki yet again, Ashura rallied his troops after being inspired by Yasuie's parting words. We then visit a forest outside the Flower Capital where Zoro and Hiyori decided to hide after the chaos with Hiyori promising to take Zoro back to Oihagi Bridge to retrieve Shusui from Gyukimaru. At last we return to the Flower Capital where Drake and Hawkins have captured a very valuable prisoner with the intent of extracting the Alliance's plans in Wano, how will Law manage to get out of this one?
Why did Law not run away? Where did Kid's crew go? Is Luffy really sorry for infecting himself with the mummy virus to inspire the prisoners? This chapter brought up some interesting questions, but it also provided many answers, let's discuss.

Newly Resolved Bets

Bet 196 from the Chapter 918 Edition

Will Holdem appear later this arc?
Stemming from right after this headliner's introduction and kidnapping of Tama in Bakura Town, we asked if this quickly defeated enemy would reappear later in the arc. While this was answered like 9 chapters ago, I decided now would be a great time to resolve this bet it's not that I forgot this bet existed, no siree
After Kin'emon and Inuarashi framed Ashura Douji for attacking one of Orochi's farms, Holdem retaliated by burning down the samurai's hideout, meaning he did appear later in the arc. Outcome B for Bet 196 is correct!

Bet 235 from the Chapter 926 Edition

Who will recruit Ashura Douji to the Kaido Assassination Team?
While in Chapter 950 he did resolve to join the team of his own accord, more than anything else Ashura was swayed by the parting words of Shimotsuki Yasuie, Daimyo of Hakumai. With those parting words, Ashura decided to put behind him those 20 years of waiting and finally make up with Kin'emon, leading to his joining the team. Outcomes D and F for Bet 235 are correct!

Bet 261 from the Chapter 932 Edition

How serious is Big Mom's memory loss?
Following the Grade-A asspull unexpected twist of Big Mom getting amnesia after washing up in Wano, we questioned just how long this new mental state of the Yonkou would last. As it turns out, in only a little over 10 chapters, Big Mom's memory was returned after a good ol' fashioned whack to the head by Queen, meaning this was only a mild case of amnesia for the Yonkou. Outcome A for Bet 261 is correct!

Bet 295 from the Chapter 939 Edition

Will a rescue operation be launched for the Heart Pirates?
Law just kind of went for it. It didn't work. Outcome A for Bet 295 is correct!

Bet 301 from the Chapter 941 Edition

Will Law be able to rescue the Heart Pirates?
No. He also screwed up so bad he got captured. Outcome C for Bet 301 is correct!

Bet 305 from the Chapter 942 Edition

Will Ashura Douji hunt down Holdem for burning down his hideout?
Although Ashura did head into Bakura Town with the intent of fighting the headliner, he was instead captivated by the broadcast of Yasuie's execution and then met with Kin'emon and Inuarashi before he could get his revenge, though that revenge was trivial at that point. After meeting with Kin'emon and Inuarashi, Ashura then left Bakura Town with the two and took them to the graveyard, meaning Ashura did not hunt down Holdem. Outcome D for Bet 305 is correct!

Bet 325 from the Chapter 946 Edition

Will the Strawhat Alliance manage to escape from the Flower Capital?
Although it appears all the Strawhats and Scabbards present at the scene managed to escape safely, one member of the Alliance was captured before he could flee the scene: Law. Whether he was captured intentionally or not, we don't know, but Hawkins and Drake managed to cuff the supernova and get him in custody. Outcome B for Bet 325 is correct!

Bet 326 from the Chapter 946 Edition

What did Ashura Douji plan on showing Kin'emon and Inuarashi?
With the events of Chapter 950, we discover that Ashura was planning on showing Kin'emon and Inuarashi the graves of the fallen samurai who could no longer wait for the Scabbards return to fight Kaido. In those 20 long years of waiting, many samurai became impatient and decided they'd rather die trying than live under Kaido's rule without any guarantee of liberation. Outcome E for Bet 326 is correct!

Bet 331 from the Chapter 948 Edition

Will Momo and Tama manage to reunite with the Strawhats in Udon after being separated in the chaos of Queen vs Big Mom?
If you remember, Kiku and Chopper requested the two defenseless members of their party wait outside Udon in the event that things get to chaotic inside, which did happen. After Queen and Big Mom had their duel and the two left en route to Onigashima, Momo tagged along with Tama who decided to head into the prison to reconvene with their party. As we saw in Chapter 949, they both had arrived safely inside and by Chapter 950, the two had reunited with Luffy and Chopper safely.
Outcome A for Bet 331 is correct!

What does an Unresolved Bet entail, and what is "Frozen Beli?"

If you're new to Bets and Bravery, the terms "unresolved bet" and "frozen bet" might not mean anything to you. However, this small section will attempt to address your questions on those terms!
Often times, one week's bet will not be immediately addressed in that week's chapter. In these cases, the bet is deemed "unresolved." What this means is that any beli used to bet on any outcome for an unresolved bet is "frozen," and is locked in place on the outcome it was initially used on. Once Beli is frozen, you will no longer have access to that beli to bet with. However, a bet may see a resolution in a later chapter, in which case the previously frozen beli will be reevaluated and will either be lost for good if you missed the bet or will earn you money if you hit!
If all your beli ends up frozen, you may not have any left to use on other bets, so spend wisely! However, that's where the weekly participation bonus of 10,000 beli comes in, so that even if you lost all your money to bad bets or everything is frozen, you can still play along! Hope that answered your questions, but always remember my inbox is always open if you have anything else you'd like to ask!

Yeah, this results thread is out a little late, most certainly not a big problem though haha My excuse this time is that I was at college orientation and just didn't have enough time or energy to work on the results thread on top of a thread for Chapter 950, so I did neither! Oh god, it's the beginning of the B&B end As I've been saying recently, this is a weird transition period, so I'll still try my best at keeping up with B&B, so I'd like to thank you all for sticking with me.

There comes a point in the life of every entrepreneur when it’s time to start a business.
This, of course, begs the question; “Which type of company should I launch?”
While there are no silver bullet guarantees of success when starting a business, there’s a lot that you can do to dramatically increase your odds. The name of the game is preparation and due diligence. Gauging demand and entering saturated markets or semi-obsolete industries carefully –VERY carefully.
There’s a lot out there on ideas and industries that are big for this year, but I feel like taking the road less traveled, and outlining a few that you should avoid. With this in mind, here’s a look at some no-go industries and ideas that you’ll want to steer clear of, or at least, exercise extreme caution with!
T-Shirts
There’s no better example of an oversaturated market then the t-shirt industry. It’s fairly simple to launch your own webstore, and what better product to sell than t-shirts, right? Everyone wears them! But this mindset, coupled with the low barriers to entry are exactly why there are so many t-shirt webstores today.
Now, I’m not saying that it can’t be done; I’m just saying that it’s been overdone. There’s a good reason that these type of shops don’t generally perform that well. They’re a dime a dozen, and usually, they’re far too niche. Yeah, CafePress has done well, but that doesn’t mean that your very specific fandom t-shirt site will. If you’ve got a good idea, test the waters by running it on Teespring or Kickstarter to see if it’s any good.
Random Apps
You’d think that in today’s day and age it’d be difficult to come up with a bad app idea. But you’d be surprised. The low barriers to app creation and relative affordability have given rise to a whole host of stupid apps. From the battery-life-eating Pocket Heat app that revs up your phone to create portable heat, to Taxi Hold’em, an app that displays the word TAXI on your screen so you can wave your phone around in an attempt to hail a ride, the world is jam-packed with pointless apps. Of course, that said, the risks are relatively low here, so if you have an idea, then you might as well give it a shot. Just avoid plunging 20k into app development, and good luck getting an investor to.
Dating Apps
While we’re on the topic of apps…what’s something the world DOESN’T need right now? Another dating app! If you’re toying with the idea of launching one, I’ve got a few choice words for you. And some advice: please don’t. Folks, we’re living in the age of Tinder, where your perfect match is just a single swipe away, why would anyone ever need anything else?
Internet Cafés
You weren’t seriously thinking of starting an internet cafe were you? They may have been all the rage in 2006, but in the smartphone era, internet cafes have become somewhat obsolete; at least in the West. If you’re dead serious about it, consider moving to Asia. I’ve heard they’re still popular in the Philippines.
Travel Agencies
Speaking of travel, travel agencies are another business that I’d recommend avoiding. As a general rule, if you can automate it, then you don’t need to start a business for it. Sure, a few travel agency chains are still hanging on, but as a general rule, small-scale travel agents are largely a thing of the past. You can book hotels and airlines easily enough online –and tools like Skyscanner make it easy to find your own deals. I doubt demand for a middleman is going to increase any time soon.
Restaurants
Yeah, Gordon Ramsey might have found success with his restaurants, but you’re not a celebrity chef. Unless you have your own TV show, then you’ll want to think twice about launching your own Hell’s Kitchen. Some 75% (I believe it is) of restaurants don’t make it five years. High overhead costs –think fresh food, a long list of staff, and necessary permits –make it tough to make a profit in the restaurant industry. Unless you’ve got a great deal of capital that you can fall back on, I’d advise would-be mom-and-pop restaurants to rethink their aspirations. My recommendation? A food truck! Or something with lower overhead.
Social Sites
Reddit, Facebook/WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Vine, Foursquare, Yelp, Tumblr –social platforms come and go. I’d personally exercise extreme caution when attempting to launch one. Why? Most social media users are creatures of habit, and they go where their friends are. If you’re thinking of launching a new one, you’re going to need a compelling reason to draw them in. Unless you have something truly and remarkably different –like, say, China’s social platform of choice, WeChat that lets you order food, chat, and pay your bills all from one app –then you may want to consider giving this one a miss.
Junk Food
Get your cheese-dusted fingers off this one! Manufacturing junk food, these days, is a remarkably bad idea. Demand for junk food is waning, with most Millennials opting for healthier choices. You’d be better off looking to create a protein-packed on-the-go snack.
Just Another Generic Product
Thinking of selling on Amazon? You’ll be up against some stiff competition. If you’d like to get into the ecommerce game, your best bet is to steer clear of generic products that everyone else is selling. If there are 20 other products out there that are exactly the same, you’ll be competing on price alone; and on Amazon, that can be a slippery slope –a race to the bottom, if you will, where the cheapest always wins. Instead of selling just another generic coffee press, spatula, or oven glove, try to find a product that you can customize, improve, or brand. See what people are saying, what they don’t like about it, and then set out to make it better.
Multi-Level Marketing
And finally, my vote for the industry to avoid –at all costs, would have to be most multi-level marketing schemes. No, Karen, you’re not an entrepreneur, you’re selling Herbalife. And spamming my Facebook newsfeed with your attempts at hawking meal replacement drinks doesn’t exactly make me want to buy it. Neither do the 2 stars out of 5 that it gets on Consumer Affairs. Sorry, but I’d generally advise people to steer clear of pyramid scams and that includes clothing (LuLaRoe), essential oils, pills, shakes, and more. If I really wanted to lose “belly fat” I’d just click on any of those clickbait ads that pop up when I’m browsing the net. As a general rule for MLM or even direct sales (which btw have a failure rate of something like 50%), the higher the initial investment and inventory buy-in, the higher the risk. And I, for one, would rather not end up with 30k worth of LuLaRoe leggings that I can’t shift.
The truth? Building up a profitable business is a challenging task even in the best of cases. Give yourself a leg up by looking to start up in an industry that has fewer hurdles to navigate –and a better track record. Avoid dwindling industries, exercise caution with oversaturated markets, and always, always test the waters and gauge demand before you dump a load of cash into it. Then be prepared to put in the blood, sweat, and tears necessary to set yourself up for success!
