Doncaster Tips Plus Course Guide and Info Tips for ...
20th June 2019 (Royal Ascot Thursday)
15:05 Norfolk - Strive For Glory @ 26.00 Ascot tends to dry well, especially on the straight course, so I’m hopeful the ground dries out to some extent and that connections let Strive For Glory take his chance because I think he’s a massive price and on faster ground would be among the head of the market. Firstly, American bred horses in this race tend to incredibly well: in the last 10 years, horses bred from USA sires have ran 27 times in the Norfolk, resulting in 6 winners, another 6 placed, and having beaten 61% of their rivals. There is a lot of talk about Ascot having a sandy base now, which might explain why the straight track tends to lend itself to horses with all-weather form, which should theoretically suit American dirt-bred horses. His run LTO is really strong on the clock (I’ve actually got it 2lbs better than the best speed rating of the favourite, Sunday Sovereign). He was unlucky that day: he missed the break, and then he got short of room and had to switch his run around horses and only started to get going again in the final furlong to stay on for 3rd. The winner of that race has franked the form by finishing 8th in the Queen Mary today (only 4 lengths behind the leader). Ascot’s stiffer track should suit him, and he’s drawn by the likely pace angle Maven so should have every chance of getting into the race. 15:05 Hampton Court - Sangarius @ 8.50 Headman was my original pick for this before being declared a non-runner, but Sangarius is interesting proposition at a fair price. He’s trained by the master of Royal Ascot, Sir Michael Stoute, and representing these connections you’d expect him to be spot on for this. His two-year-old form is solid by this field’s standards - I remember Simon Rowlands (who has also tipped him for this) being impressed by his Doncaster run, and he finished fourth in the Dewhurst - and his only run this season when third in a Listed race reads really well both in terms of form and speed ratings. On the clock that run is as good as anything in here, and you would definitely expect him to improve from that given his trainer; but what’s more the winner of that, King of Comedy, finished second in the St James’ Palace Stakes, but if you watch the race he was clearly the best horse in there and should have won. He needs to improve by about 7lbs to match what a typical winner would achieve in this race, but so does the rest of this field, and given how unexposed he is, the form he has got, the trainer he has got, you wouldn’t bet against him showing it. 15:40 Ribblesdale - Fleeting @ 2.62 I don’t generally like backing at short prices, but Fleeting should be hacking up in this, baring accidents, and I can’t really see what can beat her. The only horses who, to my (amateur) speed ratings, who have the form to win this are Fleeting, Peach Tree and Frankelina; Peace Tree probably doesn’t stay this far and her best form is as a two-year-old, and Frankelina I think has a real daisy-cutting action and won’t go on the softer ground here. Fleeting, meanwhile, is rock solid: she will go on the ground - I actually think, based on her action, that she will improve for it - she was an unlucky third in the Oaks, and based on sectionals there’s a good argument for suggesting she was better than her third place. Her form is clearly the best on offer, and as we’ve already seen this week, Coolmore haven’t supplemented her for nothing. 16:20 Gold Cup - Cross Counter @ 5.00 Cross Counter is a horse I really like. He’s got serious talent - as seen when setting a track record at Goodwood, shrugging off Dee Ex Bee in the process - and when he became the first British trained horse to win the Melbourne Cup. He has looked in his last two races as though this trip would not be an issue for him, and he won the Melbourne Cup on soft ground so the ground won’t be an issue. Stradivarius is likely to be vulnerable on softer ground, and Cross Counter is an improving four-year-old and I think he could be the best stayer around. 17:00 Britannia - Aweedram @ 23.00 Aweedram was eye-catching LTO at Haydock. It’s possible the ground was too firm for him, but he looked to be going well before finished 6th under a “considerate” ride. He looks to have more to offer than a rating of 92, he’s a course and distance winner and he won’t mind any ease in the ground.

If you have been following these Sheets you would usually be reading right now how these Sheets will be locked in a .zip file and will need a password to access them. There will be two passwords to access the sheets. The first one will never change however the second one will. This second password can usually only be retrieved through a PM, however today it will be retrieved the same way the first password is. If you run into problems inputting the password then that is most likely down to the way the password has been constructed. The passwords are designed to not be easily ‘Copied & Pasted’ and will occasionally include special characters/symbols so please input the password manually as you see it and DO NOT COPY AND PASTE IT If you are struggling to access the sheets please PM and refrain from asking on this post, thank you. I am more than happy to lend a hand in any way. I apologise in advance if I do not get to your PM in time. I bet cautiously and I dont ever chase my losses. I play with £50 each day and aim to double this which 9/10 I do. Please further read here for more on how I bet Today I have done my sheet/s at Doncaster, Huntington, Lingfield, Newcastle and *Dundalk. * You can find all meetings here. Your first password is ZXJpY3RoZWJhbmFuYQ== (Click link and Decode) Popular followers who are reading or skimming past to get the second password will usually be met with this link. Click here to retrieve the Second Password As I said at the beginning today’s password will be posted in the same format as the first password. If you are struggling then use the above link and I shall reply. Your second password is TmNNaF5FRXNMdCR4 (Click link and Decode) I’m happy to do other meetings upon request. To make it easy I have created a pre-filled direct message in the following PM link. Please send me a PM. Again I apologise if I do not respond to your message before race start. I have made a vast improvement on the ratings due to feedback positive and negative and hopefully these changes will reflect this and gain you some results Finally, included in the sheets, are 4 new additions to accompany and improve on the Ratings. They are : -
NP Tip - this will acknowledge whether or not the Horse has been tipped by the Papers.
TpSpd - this will acknowledge the Top 4 Horses based on their potential Speed Rating.
T2J - this will acknowledge the Top 2 best performing Jockeys in the Race.
T2T - this will acknowledge the Top 2 best performing Trainers in the Race.
The Guide to using the sheets
I have changed the original 3 types of ratings on the sheet but it is still legible. First one will be in the Orange column within the sheet titled ‘A-rating’. This is a rating based on each horses average earnings and ability based on various criteria such as meeting, distance, going, class, course etc. The second rating is the Horses Form. This again is in the Orange column within the sheet titled ‘HF-rating’.. This gives a Form Rating based on each horses sex, days since last race, form, weight, market position etc. You will find the third rating in the ‘HF-rating’ sheet next to the selections. You will notice it’s a Combined Score I have given the horses rated in the sheets ‘A-rating’ and ‘HF-Rating’. Using this combined score is not definitively going to outright give you the best horse so please be wary of using it and do your own research if you’re not confident. Just because a horse has a combined score of 100, does not mean it will be the best. Again this is just my own number crunching to aid me in my selection process and I do not always pick the highest score! The rating I use and rely on the most is the HF-Rating *Upon looking at these ratings, if the majority of the horses CS rating in a race are way below 100 and average around 50-65 I tend to not place any bets on that race but may choose to Dutch the race. * A lot of my betting is done by Dutching the races. The Dutching Calculator will always be pre-filled in correlation to the sheets however it is open to you to alter the Stake, Horse and it’s odds (if they have changed).
For example just removing horse selections from its pre-filled cell/s, will remove its odds and stakes etc or perhaps swapping or adding a horse in the selections column will automatically grab its odds, what stake to use etc.*
The Dutching Calculator has been designed to be user friendly. Please feel free to request information on how to use the ’Dutching Calculator’ sheet or how to Dutch in general if you are unsure. Also please note any horses A-rating and HF-rating rated in the high 100’s isn’t always a ‘SURE BET’. The aim of doing these sheets is to gauge out the top horses and eliminate any outliers. You can then focus some further research on these to ensure a decent bet. One could happily use these Sheets to find the outliers and lay them. I find sometimes you’ll come across a false favourite and it’s these that can make you decent profits with laying. Any help or advice please don’t hesitate to PM and ask.

When you post your selection, please confirm if you're advising to Win, Place, E/W, Forecast, whatever, how many points to stake (this is generally done in 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 points, but it's up to your discretion), and what odds to take and with which betting firm or if you're taking the SP.
If we have more interest than the amount of races, we’ll look at other races to be previewed. And if you want to include a tip for another race not listed, please feel free. Results so far can be viewed here. Good luck and have fun!

If we have more interest than the amount of races, we’ll look at other races to be previewed. And if you want to include a tip for another race not listed, please feel free. Results so far can be viewed here. Good luck and have fun!
I've listed the races from this Saturday's Channel 4 card below. We will allocate them based on a "first come, first serve" basis. If anyone can think of a fairer way let me know. If we get more interest than the number of televised races we will look at other races for the users to analyse. If you want to include tips for other races, please feel free.

There are only six televised races on Saturday. If we get more than six people interested, users thereafter can pick a race from Saturday (or Sunday, if anyone wants to take on the John Durkan Memorial) for them to analyse.
We had a good week last week. Let's see if we can keep this up! Results so far can be viewed here.

14:40 Newbury - Ozzie The Oscar: I thought he fairly travelled around just off the pace, but he couldn't find when asked in the final straight and was quickly pulled up by Richard Johnson. I don't know if anything will come out of this in terms of the horse's well being, but it seemed to me that the track was more testing than it looked and it ended up benefitting the more staying types - or I completely misjudged the race! He's definitely one I won't be giving up on, though. 1 pt loss
14:45 Newcastle - Petit Mouchoir: Travelled like the winner and was in the perfect position in the straight, but devastatingly fell three from home (horse is okay). Given how sticky the end was, I really think that if he had stayed on his feet he would have won this by a couple of lengths. 1 pt loss
15:10 Newbury - Blaklion & Aubusson: Jumped fantastically well and travelled like a dream into a prominent position. I was already counting my money as we entered the final straight, but he just couldn't quicken like Carole's Destrier and Hadrian's Approach could from behind, with Native River holding on gamely at the front to win. In the end Blaklion stayed on for 5th place and did run a very solid race. Aubusson raced close to pace early on, but didn't jump that fluently and lost places. 3 pt loss
15:40 Doncaster - Kelpie's Myth: Tipped at odds of 4/1, but drifted out to 6/1 by the time the race started. Set a strong pace on testing ground and ending up tiring himself out to finish towards the rear of the field. Lesson learned: don't bet on maiden races. 2 pt loss

Well done to Ayr for taking the choice not to water in reckoning of some downpour arriving overnight. They were estimate between 4-8mm yet got 15mm and going that was quite on the fast side yesterday evening is currently especially on the inverse side of the coin at 'Great to Soft, Good in spots' with somewhat more rain still because of come at the beginning of today. Brilliant has been taken out of the British Stallion Studs EBF Tennent's Rothesay Stakes, the new Listed occasion that highlights today's card, as an aftereffect of the adjustment in conditions, yet I'm not persuaded the wagering market has yet completely responded to the going movement at the track. The unexposed Maleficient Queen heads the wagering on the back of some genuinely easy incapacitate victories, yet I'm far sweeter on the cases of More Mischief, who enhanced all through last season, finishing it with an OK second to the energizing Moonrise Landing at Newmarket on delicate ground, and after that grabbing where he'd left off this year, winning a Doncaster handicap off 85 (delicate ground once more), before going to Goodwood for a Listed race where he just barely neglected to grab third behind David Simcock pair Carnachy and Bateel. Carnachy has missed the mark against the young men since, yet I wouldn't hold that against her, as that was a much more tasteful issue than this, and More Mischief is qualified for go exceptionally well here, even construct basically in light of a redundancy of that Goodwood structure. While Sevilla uncover a lucky record of assaulting ability to keep up their status in spite of being an "offering" club, their barrier has not been so strong, surrendering no less than two objectives in four of their six Champions League recreations and both away diversions in the last two rounds of this opposition. Liverpool's back five is not precisely the most strong of establishments either and sponsorship both groups to score at a shade of chances on must be unequivocally considered. Be that as it may, with objectives expected, I can't avoid the 7/1 about Roberto Firmino scoring first. He just has one objective in this opposition yet he was a steady danger in the semi-last and is not objective modest, as his 10 group strikes illustrate ,and eight of those have come following the turn of the year. It would be nothing unexpected to see him deliver another match-winning presentation in the last and he's justified regardless of a little enthusiasm to indent the opener. (Ian Ogg)

The Doncaster Stadium Maidens Trophy last components at Doncaster's Stainforth circuit tonight and Calzaghe Blast turns plotted upward going back and forth. Ostensibly the puppy to take from a week ago's warms having kept running on in eye-getting design for the silver decoration subsequent to gathering around the opening two turns, Ted Soppitt's charge looks a certified railer and is qualified for have gone ahead bounty for that first trip on these shores. A superior break and fortunes in running today could see the child of Skywalker Puma run out an amazing champ. (Matt Salter)
