Hello. I am depositing money at a sportsbetting website via crypto since there are no fees for doing it this way. I need help figuring out which transactions here will be taxable so I can report my taxes correctly. I will list every transaction I believe I will be taking. Please tell me which transactions are taxable events and what forms I will use to report them to the IRS correctly.
Buy 5000 USD of Bitcoin on an exchange.
Send Bitcoin to sports betting website such as mybookie.ag.
mybookie.ag receives 5000 USD of Bitcoin and immediately converts it to USD.
Place bet in USD, win, payout is 15,000 USD.
Receive 15,000 USD in the form of Bitcoin, send to Coinbase, sell Bitcoin immediately, receive roughly 15,000 USD.
In this list of actions, my cost basis for Bitcoin was 5000 USD since I originally bought 5000 USD worth of BTC and then sent it to the sports betting website. I then received 15,000 USD worth of Bitcoin after winning the bet, which I sold on Coinbase, so my net profit from the trade was 10,000 USD. Now my question is - Do I report this on the Schedule D as a profitable Bitcoin trade, or do I report it on the W-2G as a profitable gambling winnings transaction? Do I have to report it on both, resulting in me being taxed twice on my 10,000 USD profit even though I should only be getting taxed once since it is a single winning? How does the IRS know I should only be getting taxed a single time and that the 10,000 profit from Bitcoin is the same as the 10,000 profit from winning the bet? I don't want to pay taxes on 20,000 USD when I only won 10,000 USD. Essentially from the IRS perspective, I fear they will incorrectly assume I won 10,000 USD AND 10,000 USD worth of BTC when in reality I only won 10,000 USD which I withdrew as BTC.

Seven main events have historically taken place at the NFR. Bareback Riding
This consists of a horseback cowboy using a bareback rigging as the primary means of staying on top of the horse. This grip has often been compared to the equivalent of hanging on to a suitcase handle and makes for the only support that a cowboy has on top of the wildly bucking horse. An 8-second ride constitutes a qualified ride and the cowboys is judged on riding technique.
Steer Wrestling
This act involves a horseback steer wrestler, alternatively known as a “bulldogger”, bringing a fast-moving steer to a halt on its back as fast as possible. The bulldogger utilizes a combination of strength, technique, speed, and precision to jump off of their horse from a designated starting point and onto a steer sprinting off from the same starting point.
Team Roping
Headers
One of two horseback team members whose job is to successfully rope the head of the steer in one of three tries as fast as possible; around both horns, around one horn and the head, or around the neck.
Heelers
One of two horseback team members whose job is to successfully rope the hind legs of the steer as soon as the header has successfully done their part. To avoid a 5-second penalty for roping only one hind leg, the heeler must rope both hind legs.
Saddle Bron Riding
Similar to Bareback Riding, the goal of the horseback cowboy is to maintain their balance as much as possible for 8 seconds while the horse is bucking. In this event, however, the cowboy sits on a saddle while using one hand to hold on to a thick rein that’s attached to the horse’s halter.
Tie-Down Roping
This event centers around a cowboy on horseback attempting to restrain a calf by throwing a well-timed rope loop that’s attached to the cowboy’s horse. The cowboy and the calf both leave from a designated starting point, with the calf getting a slight head-start. The cowboy depends on the horse to mitigate any slack in the rope after dismounting, then proceeds to tie-up the calf as fast as possible.
Barrel Racing
This is a women’s event where horseback cowgirls race against the clock to complete a strategically set course where barrels are set up as landmarks. The intent is for the cowgirls to complete a cloverleaf-shaped run around 3 barrels placed in a triangular formation as fast as possible. Barrels that are accidentally knocked over result in 5-second penalties.
Bull Riding
The cowboy on top of the bull has the main objective of staying on top and maintaining their balance for 8 seconds. They are judged based on technique and can earn extra points by spurring while the bull is bucking. The cowboy stays on top of the bull by grasping a flat braided rope, which also wraps around the bull’s chest.
All-Around Champion
Being crowned the All-Around Champion speaks volumes about the versatility and high level of talent exhibited by the winning cowboy. In order to receive this honor, the cowboy must have won the most prize money in a given year and competed in at least 2 NFR events while earning at least $3,000 in each of those events. This is widely known as the highest honor bestowed by the PRCA.

And I keep getting the same basic and vague answers from different consultants who don't even seem to be aware of the issue history (like they don't even read the previous messages in the email thread). Or they're dodging my questions on purpose. Today's reply from the consultant (original spelling):

In regards to your betting history, the most you can check from the past is from the three months or last 90 days."
As for the first part - I wasn't asking where to check the rollover amount, I asked why they can't display the proper value on my account, the whole damn issue and 10 emails thread are about this, not where to check it. The second part is even better because I just checked my betting history and the first bet shown is from Feb 13, 2018 so I have no idea where he got "last 90 days" from. Is there any way to get past the first line of consultants to someone more competent? As English isn't my first language maybe there is some "magic" word or phrase I have to use so they will send me to someone "higher" instead of giving me general answers? I really don't like the idea of having to contact them each time to check my rollover manually and to rely solely on their answers because I'm afraid I will have similar problems with payout as I have now to get a decent answer. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My concept of Prostreet 2 implements parts of the original Prostreet, some aspects of local racing leagues, track days, real-life racing series. I will go in depth with this concept so bear with me. CAREER MODE: In the Original ProStreet, you are Ryan Cooper, a former street racer gone legal. One thing I disliked about the plot in ProStreet was the fact the career mode lacked a good prologue...you were put in a situation where you already were a local street legend racer. I wanted more of a Prologue to Ryan Cooper's story on how he became a local legend, how he got that legendary 240sx. Idea: You start out as a nameless player, you just got out of jail for street racing. Meet up at the used car shop (choose your first ride). The used car guy will be Rav (Payback Easter Egg). Now you have 4 choices to choose from, Choice 1 (Dirt/Rallycross Pathway) Join a local rallycross league at a fictional local track. Win and Dominate both events make noise around the town (Dirt Pathway) Choice 2 (Race Pathway) Join a Lemons style race league at Willow Springs (no crowd present, quiet vibe, old beater cars , impress the guys at Time Attacks and Race them, gain attention Choice 3 (Drift Pathway) Join a Local Underground Drift League that drifts in Parking Lots Choice 4 (Drag Pathway), enventually merges with "Speed" (from Pro Street) Join a Drag Racing League at the local Drag Strip, Make some noise around town. After you finish your first pathway, you can choose to finish the other pathways using the same starter car with tweaks (will go in depth in customization). What you don't end up doing in the first part affects what you can in the second part Academy/Race School Depending on what you did in different parts, Schools become available and are used as fun challenges very similar to the Factory Driver in NFS Porsche Unleashed but more specialized. Race Weekends will be T2 (200-299), Entry fees will increase, Spec cars will be introduced (will go more in depth with Spec Cars) There will be 12 Race Weekends Total, all specialized, You need to complete atleast 9 of the 12 3 Drag 4 Race - Intro to Night Races 3 Rallycross - You unlock the Dirtfish advanced Rally school after completing your first REACT Rallycross event. 2 Drift You make your way up, probably max out your starter car in T2 (unless you get lucky and get an engine swap), progress in the Schools, maybe get a car or 2 in the weekends unlocked by the schools. You get to Showdown II (big crowd for the boss' crew, they are boos in the crowd.), It's a 2 part Race Weekend, The first part resembles a regular race weekend, but the second part is an endurance race, so it is important to take care of the car you will use for the Endurance Race The day between the parts of the race weekend, you find out the main antagonist hijacked your cars, you get them back but they are damaged, you have to fork out your own cash to barely repair your car for the Endurance race. You will have to choose what you have time to repair for before the race. Your car will therefore be underpowered... You manage to win the race. Now the boss is furious and you are making a name for yourself quite nicely. You get invited for an invitational Event featuring Vintage Porsche Race Cars. This is just fun, you don't need to participate but you get to try the 78' 935 Moby Dick and the 98' 911 GT1 (T3 Race Cars) You Unlock the SpeedHunter's school of Speed, You should buy either a new or used car to heavily upgrade for these speed events. You now advance to Super Promotion, where the competition is tough, You race T3 Cars and most cars are "Spec Cars". Now you can stil race most cars in multiple classes but the need for cars specialized for pathways is pretty much neccesary to be able to compete. In Super Promotion, Big Crowds show up to races, Grid Girls are present, all the fame is starting to show in the atmosphere, most are starting to cheer for you. 15 Race weekends - 10 must be completed to advance Drag and Speed are combined Rallycross and Drift are together Race & Drag are combined All race weekends have different combinations of pathways. Shocks & Suspension Physics style: For ProStreet, The physics were good at times, and terrible at times. Grip felt amazing on lower-powered cars but would get wonky when you get to the high end cars. I feel going slightly more towards the sim side without going too close to the shift series. The RallyCross Physics should be similar to Dirt 4's Physics. The Drift Physics in Payback in my opinion are a great base, maybe make it a little harder and more user controlled The Drag Racing in the Original Prostreet works great, but make it so you can overheat your tyres on the pre-burnout before the race The Grip physics need to be more towards sim but a little more grippy than real life. Now...with all this, Full Wheel Support is a must!!!! I am talking multiple input devices, shifters, Handbrake, Clutch, Direct Drive Wheels because you need to somewhat appeal to the sim crowd. Assists will be available to be enabled, but for a raw experience you can turn off assists and have a pure driving experience with a deep career mode. The driving school aims to make the player better overall and gain skills. That being said, it still has to be pick-up and play and hard to master. Tracks: Tracks will be a mixture of real and fictional Circuits and will run many multiple layouts Nurburgring GP + Nord (Insane speed Races) Autopolis Autobahn Laguna Seca Willow Springs Mid-Ohio Daytona International Speedway Nevada Track (Original from Prostreet 1, pls bring it back) Tokyo Expressway (Original from ProStreet 1) Ebisu Dirtfish Mosport Road-Atlanta Spa-Francorchamps Road-America Monaco (Monte-Carlo) Chicago Airfield (Original from ProStreet) Sonoma Raceway Silverstone Circuit of the Americas Magny-Cours Anderstorp Palmont City Canyons (Touge Battles Only (Big Ass Easter Egg Drift King)) A few fictional Local Drag Strips and Rally Cross scattered in Europe and US Tokyo Street (Street Circuit based in Japan, Parking Lot Drifting) Both URL Tracks from Underground 2 Remastered Soundtrack: The ProStreet 1 vibe was almost perfectly done so replicating it only makes sense.
