SOME PLANETS WERE NOT MEANT TO BE by Cmdr
Tittybiscuits.com ******
Ever tried to clean vomit out of the dash vents of a Type-6?
I have. Tried, that is. And I’ll tell you for free: it’s impossible to get rid of the smell once it’s in the AC system.
She’d been to the core and back, twice. Deep scanned over six-thousand systems, survived countless gankers, and even made me a packet during the mining boom of 3305. In the end, I had to trade her in, the poor old girl: survived all this, only to be killed by regurgitated baked greebles.
But I suppose I should begin with the transmission that started it all. The message to which I should never have replied.
The job I’ll always regret accepting.
The single moment that had written my old T6’s fate into the stars, and that had made me promise to never, EVER leave the bubble again.
****
“Commander. Mission. You there? We have a mission for you. Are you reading me? Come in, Commander. Are you available?”
“Yes, yes. Cool your jets, mate. What’s…”
But then realised I hadn’t pressed the transmit button and was just talking to myself.
“Commander? Are you reading me?”
I tried again.
“Yes! Bloody hell! Keep your dick on. I’m reading you.”
“Good. Hello.”
“So what’s the mission?”
“Exploration job. Available?”
It was The Handler. He was always this blunt, and that was fine by me. Employers giving me all the info up front allowed me plenty of room to employ your standard negotiation tactics, such as:
“Hmmm. I’m kinda preoccupied other clients,” I said, scratching my week-old stubble and hitting pause on the space porn I’d been watching before he had hailed. “Of course, if you make it worth my while, I’ll try and rejig a few things in the schedule...”
“Bullshit. You have no other clients.”
He had me there.
Go on.”
“We want you to go to the Thule region. That is all.”
I did a quick mental check; Thule wasn’t far at all in the grand scheme of things, and especially not for an A-rated, fully engineered Diamondback.
Obviously I didn’t have one of those, but still.
“What system?” I said, idly trying to stick down a reluctant piece of duct tape on my Type-6 dashboard.
“I can’t…” The Handler’s voice wavered. A deep breath, then: “I can’t say it out loud. We’ll transmit it to you.”
“Ah, I see. It’s one of those long, meaningless system names comprised of random HIPs and numbers?”
“No!” he barked back angrily, and it took me off guard. It was the first time I’d ever heard a shred of emotion from the man. “No, just… look, it’s in Thule. That’s all you need to know. We’ll send you the specific name.”
“Meh. Thule’s not far. But in terms of reward, how much are we tal…”
“Three billion credits,” His voice cut across the transmission, back to his trademark monotone.
I fell back into my travel-worn cockpit seat, as if the words themselves had enough force to knock me back from across the airwaves. Surely they must have meant three-million-with-an-m, not three-billion-with-a-b?
A faint, static silence on their end. They were waiting for a response.
“Sorry, let me get this straight,” I said, leaning forward again and tapping the notepad on my dashboard. “You’re offering three billion - that’s billion-with-a-b - for me to go to…”
“Oh!” The Handler cried out, and it sounded like something had caught in his throat. After treating the airwaves between us to a warm, wet, phlegmy cough, he just about got out: “Please, stop talking. Oh god. I don’t want to think about it. For Braben’s sake, stop talking.”
I was massively puzzled.
“Stop talking? But we’re talking about this mission?”
“Yes, damnit! Stop talking about it!” came the reply, punctuated with a sickly burp that bordered on retching. “Oh, god…”
I could hear another voice in the background of the transmission. A woman, urging Hristo (presumably The Handler’s first name, which I never knew before) to leave the room if he felt like he was going to throw up. From what I could hear, he deftly did so and the woman took his place at the transmitter.
“Commander, this is M. Trago Mills. I’ll save us both some valuable time and cut to the chase: will you accept this mission?”
Normally, I’d blindy do anything the Committee asked of me. Scan a Guardian site, map a Wolf-Rayet star, ram a Keelback into a wedding barge at full speed at the behest of a jilted lover, rescue a stranded traveller just before the Fuel Rats got to him simply just to get on their tits... whatever the Committee needed, minimal questions. It was how I’d built up my reputation as being your local go-to guy.
But this? This wasn’t sounding like a ‘minimal question’ job.
“Yeah, I’ll do it. Obviously I’ll do it. But what’s…”
“No questions,” M. Trago fired back. “This is a minimal question job.”
“Oh.”
“So I just need to go scan the planet.”
“No. Ah… gods, no. Don’t scan it. Don’t even get close enough to scan it. Just jump into the system and… and…”
“And what?”
“Just look at it.”
“Just look at the planet?”
“Just look at the planet.”
“I take it the system is dangerous.”
“Dangerous? No, not in the conventional sense. It’s a standard OBAFGKM star.”
“KGBFOAM,” I corrected her.
“Shut up.”
“Okay.”
“Standard star. One planet.”
“The planet you want me to look at.”
“The planet, yes.”
“And you just want me to look at it?”
“I think we’ve established that, yes, we just want you to look at it.”
“Look at the planet.”
“The planet. Yes.”
I shrugged. “And you’ll wire me the credits as soon as I get back, right?”
“What?”
My eyes rolled up to the ceiling of my cockpit as I sighed: “Chris Columbus gotta get paid, love.”
“Commander, we’ll pay you the second you see it.”
M. Trago’s voice came back flatly, and with it my astonishment at this whole gig returned. Nobody, and especially not the notoriously tight-arsed Committee, would pay such a colossal amount for simply visiting a system; not even returning data or providing proof I’d even been there, simply paying up the second I claim to have done it.
As I reflected upon the strangeness of it all, M. Trago was trying to send the full name of the system to me via text comms.
It wasn’t going well.
THULE 13452-A
…
…
13445
…
IGNOERE THAT COMMANDSR
134
….
PLASE HOLD
…
THE CORRECT NAME IS
THULE 1
…
THULE 134452-2-A
“Oh, god…” I heard M. Trago faintly slur over the line; it was obvious that she had cupped the mic and turned to one side, but I could still hear her woozily gulping air. It sounded like she was about to faint, or throw up, or both.
“Are you alright?”
It was muffled, but I heard her say something to the effect of “I can barely even type the name” to an unseen aide on her side. After another bout of clammy silence, she returned at full volume: “You have the system name,” she all but barked at me. “Go there, look at the planet, get paid. Or don’t. Whatever. I don’t care anymore.”
And with that, the transmission went dead.
I was alone again, blinking at the comms panel, my eyebrows already on their way to Hutton.
The decision was already firmly made in my head: I HAD to check this out. To see the thing that had rattled the otherwise-stony Committee to such an extent. I didn’t even care about the credits at this stage.
Well, maybe a little bit.
A fair bit. A lot.
I mean, three billion.
With a ‘b’.
**********
“Maurice, my old pal! How’s the wife?”
I slapped my open palm enthusiastically on the Cubeo cartographics counter. Before he had the chance to reply, I galloped in with my follow-up: “Listen bud, I don’t suppose you could do me mate’s rates on some system data?”
Maurice considered this for a moment before gently taking my wrist with his index finger and thumb, removing it from the polished surface.
“Firstly, I don’t have a wife. And secondly, I don’t do… ‘mate’s rates’,” he said, wrinkling his nose at the very notion.
“Aw, c’mon, Maurice! For old time’s sake.”
From over the top of his pince-nez glasses, his expression was an even mix between annoyed and nonplussed.
“My name is Jacob.”
“Ah. Right.”
Jacob-not-Maurice scornfully ran his tongue across his teeth, mouth closed, before opening it to say: “Can I help you?”
“Yeah, okay. I need the system data for…” I looked at the smudged ink on the back of my hand, “Thule 134452-2-A.”
Jacob had looked away, turning to his console to tap in the series of numbers. He was midway through doing so until I got to the final ‘A’, then abruptly stopped. His hand hovered above the virtual keyboard on his side of the console, unmoving save for a small quiver. His eyes widened, glazed over.
“Alright?”
He blinked, twice. Hard. Then turned his gaze back to me.
“There is no system data for Thule 1344..5….Thu… that system.”
“You didn’t type it in. You’re didn’t put in the dash-A.”
“There is no data for that system,” he repeated, bluntly.
This job wasn’t just getting weird. It was getting really, really silly.
“Mate, I was told by my handlers that there is one orbital body in Thule 13…”
“I *heard* the system name!” he cut me off, his placid demeanour suddenly reddening to a level that admittedly made me jump. “You don’t need to say it again! The system has no orbital bodies, SIR,” he spat the last word. “You can simply select the star in your galaxy navigation map. There is no further information to give. Do you understand?”
I couldn’t help but smile quizzically at the absurdity of all this. Momentarily lost for words, I placed my arm back onto his counter, leading with an elbow. “Dude, I don’t understand why you’re acting so wei…”
It was a miracle I had gotten my arm out of the way before the counter shutter slammed down on it. Jacob eyed me wildly from behind the mesh, but it was clear he had no more to say on the matter; another Commander approached the counter from the direction of the cafeteria, but Jacob screamed “We’re CLOSED!” at her. At me. At both of us.
The other Commander, not knowing what else to do, threw me an 07 salute. Also puzzled, I fired back an ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ salute in return and we both went our separate ways.
Back at the docks, I settled into the seat of my Type-Shitty and plotted a course for what was quickly becoming The System That Shall Not Be Named.
47 jumps to Voldemort. That wasn’t too bad.
Raring to go, I promptly opened up Spacify and put on a playlist. I followed this by launching tabs for SpaceFlix, SpaceTube, Spacebook and Spaceporn. That should keep me going.
It was time to see what all this was about, and, somewhat more importantly, collect my three billion credits.
I had no idea what had gotten Maurice or Jacob or whatever his name was so riled up, or why the Committee was being similarly cagey.
Either way, I would get to the bottom of all this.
Where there were credits to earn, I would be there to earn them. Where mysteries needed to be unveiled, I would shine a light. I had the vessel to do all such things, and the force of will to see them through to the bitter end.
I fired up my trusty, mighty engines and rose up from Launchpad 39, ready and willing to see where this adventure would take me... for better or worse.
I immediately bounced off a Beluga liner passing over head, then thrusted directly into the edge of the mail slot.
**********
The final jump.
I lined up the star, set thrusters to full, and pressed the J key.
My hardpoints deployed. I shook my head, pressed J again, then pressed the apostrophe key once they’d retracted. The ship entered the Full Spectrum System Scanner mode.
I cancelled that, extended my landing gear, retracted my landing gear, jettisoned cargo, accidentally opened the system map, turned flight assist off and then on again and finally changed the ship’s language to German.
What were my key bindings again? Ah, yes: I’d set hyperjump to P, which probably made sense at the time.
Friendship drive charging. Or, as the ship now says: Freundsindgungendzingen Aufgenahbenendlichensich.
So, this is it. The swift conclusion to a mission that had gotten everyone acting really weird, and would get me incredibly rich. This was good. Sehr gut.
I tore off the lid of my can of baked greebles as the ship entered into Witch-space. With barely enough time to dig my fork into the can before emerging again, the system was just like any other: a yellow dwarf suspended in the firmament of nothingness against a background of a trillion of its brothers and sisters.
My first action, borne of a thought that occured to me at the very beginning of the mission, was to check the system for other contacts. The Handler, and his handler, had said that the system wasn’t dangerous, but if they were paying me a bazillion credits to visit this oddly regular place there must be something valuable here. Given how local the system was, just sitting in plain view, it would follow that my employers weren’t the only group to know about it. Plus, I’m just a freelancer, one of many; if they’re asking me to come here, they may have asked others.
I did a quick check while forking some greebles into my gaping gob. To my surprise, I was the only one in the system.
I then opened the system map and, as foretold, found that there were just two celestial bodies here: the star, and the planet orbiting it. But despite the simplicity of the system, I was looking at something that made absolutely no sense whatsoever: the orbital body wasn’t registering as a planet?
It was as if the system map was showing a black hole orbiting here, but that was silly. Things orbit black holes, with their incredible mass, not the other way around; unless this one was absolutely miniscule, there was no way it should be spinning around the system’s normal-sized star.
I extended my landing gear, retracted it, deployed hardpoints then opened up the detailed system scanner.
There it was, out in the void.
And the system scanner went absolutely beserk trying to classify it.
It was registering a non-metal, non-icy, non-gaseous, entirely organic body that apparently had a temperature above 400K but also *below* absolute zero. It filled the entire frequency band one second, then the next, no frequency at all.
No wonder The Handler wanted me to check this weirdness out, but I was still unsure as to what more I could offer on the subject given that they’d clearly observed it already. There was only one thing for it: as commanded, I had to go look at it with my human oculars.
Seeing is believing, as the proverb goes.
Except, in my unfortunate case, I both heard and smelled it before it came into plain sight.
I’d selected the planet - if that unholy mess could even be called that - and gotten within 7 light seconds from it when the fragrance started wafting into my cabin. This was the latest thing that made no sense. Smell cannot travel through the airless medium of space, let alone enter an airtight cockpit, but here it was: the aroma of death. It only got stronger and more pungent the closer I got, catching in my throat, making me put down the baked greebles I’d previously been enjoying.
The sound, now.
I never want to hear that cacophony ever again, but I know I’ll have to. It’ll manifest itself in the record player of my brain every time I close my eyes, until the day I die.
And then, sweating profusely and feeling saliva build in my cheeks, I saw it.
Oh god. Why did I look?
Planets should be made of metal, or rock. Or gas. Whatever they're usually made out of.
But not that. Never that.
I threw up onto the dashboard. Globs of bile and half-digested greebles slopped onto the floor and in between the slats of the ventilators. I wiped away the sick enough to get to the hotline key; after a few pulses, The Handler picked up.
“Commander, our trackers show that you made it to the system.”
“Maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t. Maybe go fuck yourself.”
Silence flooded the line, until:
“Uh-huh. You made it, then.”
“Yeah, you’re damn right I made it. And seriously, fuck you. I can’t stop looking at it.”
“I understand,” The Handler replied. “You’ve completed the mission and our client will release the funds within the next hour. Congratulations, Commander. You’re a billionaire.”
“You know what? I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d rather you kept the money and give me answers instead.”
“There are no answers to give, and the client isn’t taking any further questions at this time.”
“Oh, god. I’ve got to get out of this system.”
“I suggest you do. And please,” said The Handler, a quiver in his voice, “turn off your comms. I can hear that… noise coming over your microphone.”
I began to turn the ship around, putting my back to the blasphemy I wish I’d never seen, and selected a neighbouring star at random. As I did so, I saw the confirmation come through: Mission Complete. 3 Billion Credits.
“Just one more thing before I go,” I said, wiping saliva away from my mouth.
“I told you, we have no answ…”
“Is it alive?”
The silence returned to the line once more. I thought he’d disconnected, but the reply came, quiet and unsure.
“I… I think so, yes.”
***** 6 MONTHS LATER *****
The floodlights on the bay were blinding in their intensity, but I stared at the piercing white lights anyway, entirely lost to thought and focusing only on the pain as my conscious mind begged me to blink.
I didn’t even realise that Sam was behind me until he leant over and plonked his black coffee (in the Hutton mug he was so proud of) onto the desk, spilling some of it in the process.
“Say, I couldn’t help but notice…”
“Uh-huh?”
“You parked in bay 22 this morning, right?”
I knew what was coming. “Yep.”
“That’s an A-rated Cutter with a custom paint job. How the heck does someone on our kind of money,” said the supervisor, splaying his hands and looking around the dank office, “afford something like that?”
I shrugged. “Got a beefy inheritance a few months ago. My great aunt was a Duval.”
“Fair enough,” he said. “I bet you could get to Colonia and back in that thing quicker than I could finish this coffee.”
“NO! I don’t travel!” I accidentally barked, far more aggressive than I’d meant to. “I mean, I commute here, then fly home to the next star over when the shift’s done. Rinse and repeat. No need to go anywhere else, is there? Nothing out there to see.”
“Uh, okay, but…”
He was about to press further, but an approaching ship interrupted his train of thought. A Type-9, hull full of biowaste.
The comms bank lit up.
“Okay, here comes another one,” said the supervisor, putting on his headset. “You remember the script? It’s written down here if you want to refer to it…”
“Sam, I know it’s only my third day, but I think I’ve heard it enough over the years.”
“Alright, then. Off you go.”
I put on my own headset, took a deep breath, and allowed myself a little contented smile.
“Lakon Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. Docking request granted, Commander. Your vector is good. Please approach landing pad four-niner…”

NOTE FROM ZEKE: Thanks for taking the time to read my first ever piece of fan fiction, I suppose you'd call it. [CONFLICT] Avenging Al-Quds: Operation HOTAMAH
mood “The UAR shall not stand idly as the Zionist entity slaughters our people, destroys our sacred sites, and tramples upon our honor. The UAR has launched a strike on the Zionist menace to punish them for desacrating the sanctity of the holy city. Jerusalem is to be free and open to people of all faiths. We can no longer tolerate fascism in the region. The last vestige of colonialism in the Middle East shall soon be eradicated. Let it be known that the UAR will fight for what is right, and we will do what we must to liberate Palestine once and for all. Israel will immediately withdraw from the occupied territories, and the lands will be restored to their rightful owners. Be warned, for our use of nuclear weapons was limited, and intended to reduce the blood shed by this war. We do not aim to eradicate the Jewish people, who are innocent bystanders born into fascist rule, but we seek to eradicate the power structures which have led to the oppression and subjugation of an entire nation, culminating in a direct attack and insult on both Arabs and Muslims across the world. Should we not act quickly, St. James’s Cathedral, and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre would be next. Be warned, we will no longer tolerate such behaviour, and while we do not wish to harm civilians, we warn Israel that any nuclear retaliation would be grounds for a ten-fold response. The Falcon has awakened, and now soars with the Phoenix.” - Prime Minister Al-Zaidi, hours after the initial attack
The UAR, already in a state of high alert, and already mobilized due to the previous Iranian war, can afford to quickly mobilize its troops and move forward, providing it with a decisive advantage over its Israeli counterparts. The “military exercise” was but a ruse, and the UAR now seeks to liberate Palestine and establish a one-state binational solution by force, ending the Israeli occupation of lands stolen almost 90 years ago.
The destruction of Al-Aqsa and the planned “temple” has galvanized public opinion to a point where most muslims would consider joining the fight against Israel. It will thus be easy to recruit additional auxiliary units both from Palestine and from the Islamic world as a whole. As plans enacted by Jordan, Egypt, Turkey, and the UAR, come to fruition, one statement is becoming a reality, Jerusalem will be freed!
Opening Phase - Operation Hotamah
Woe to every backbiter, slanderer,
Who amasses wealth and counts it over and over.
He imagines that his wealth will make him immortal.
Nay! he shall surely be cast into the "hotamah".
And what should make thee know what the "hotamah" is?
Allah's fire as preserved fuel,
Which will leap suddenly on to the hearts.
It is locked up in outstretched pillars to be used against them. 1 - Quran 104-2
The Land-Based Missiles With troops deployed in Jordan, and on the Zionist-UAR border, the UAR is poised to make a surprise first strike on the enemy’s most prized possession. Their nuclear weapons.
Israeli nuclear weapons are located mainly in one site, warehouses near Sdot Micha. While they may be potentially rated against conventional airstrikes, they would be unable to withstand a direct hit from a nuclear weapon, let alone a ground penetrating nuclear bunker buster. Israel’s other nuclear weapons are located on submarines that would presumably be located thanks to the UAR’s established
hydrophone network in Lebanon.. Thus the main objective would be to overwhelm the enemy’s air defenses.
This will involve 5 different sources and directions forcing them to defend territory in 360 degrees in addition to a suter attack by EC-130 ELINT to paint the false picture of a clear sky prior to the attack:
- Utilizing the wide array of missiles inherited from the Hezbollah militia numbering in the 100-150,000, 75,000 missiles will be fired at various bases around Israel, with 20,000 targeting the nuclear facility at Sdot Micha from Lebanon and Syria once the order is given. These missiles serve to distract the enemy air defenses that would frantically attempt to intercept all 75,000, distracting them from the real threat. This would nonetheless be particularly damaging, as noted by Israel’s own assessments that “Precision-guided missiles like those now in Hezbollah’s possession can also “paralyze the civilian and military infrastructures of entire countries, thus paving the way to their defeat in war,” This compares to 4,000 missiles fired in the 2006 war. Shorter range missiles will be fired at other cities to cripple/preoccupy the ADS on the approach
- The UAR’s Ships in the Mediteranean sea, namely the Tomohawks onboard of the Arleigh Burkes and Ticonderogas will fire a salvo of 1,500 cruise missiles
- Hamas, which boasts its own missile capabilities, will launch is own salvo of rockets from the west of roughly 7,500 missiles
- UAR Troops in Jordan via TEL will launch 2,000 Qiam-1 SRBM missiles at the site
- The coup de grace in this coordinated operation however will be air strikes at standoff range. Firing cruise missiles which were difficult to intercept, as noted in the Azanian surprise attack, a total of 5 INTIQAM-2TAA Air launched cruise missiles that are designed as 400kT nuclear bunker busters. These will be launched from the F-5C Delta Darts which would be difficult to detect by the IDF. The UAR would similarly be deploying an additional 100 F-15Es, which have a far higher radar signature that would also drop 200 JASSM munitions on the strike zone.
Between the 75,000 rockets (including precision munitions), Hamas’s missiles, 1,500 cruise missiles, 2,000 ballistic missiles, and 200 JASSMs, it is highly unlikely that the Israelis will manage to intercept specifically the 5 INTIQAM-2TAAs that would be dropped on the area. A few cruise missiles alone are hard to intercept if taken by surprise, let alone thousands. The fireball would likely vaporize the neighbouring moshav of Sdot Micha, as well as Sdot Micha Airbase. The largest settlement that would be affected by the detonation would be Bet Shemesh which would suffer from the shockwave. The Negev Nuclear Research Centre in Dimona would similarly be targeted as well. This would effectively render Israel nuke-less and unable to retaliate.
Objective:
- Fire a ridiculous amount of munitions from all directions, land, air, and sea, as well as use EW to facilitate the nuclear first strike on the Israeli nuclear arsenal in Sdot Micha, destroying it in its entirety through the use of 400kT bunker busters.
The Sub Hunt The UAR Hydrophone network should reveal the locations of the submarines in Israel’s control. The UAR will deploy its fleet of ASW aircraft and ships to hunt the subs that are located to prevent them from firing. This will occur simultaneously with the attack to bring the UAR’s sub hunters within range to destroy the Israeli submarines within minutes of the initial salvo firing, faster than the time it takes for the news of a nuclear strike to travel to the 5 isolated subs.
Knowing vaguely where they are, ASW helicopters can be used to pinpoint their direct locations and thus allow them to be neutralized by torpedo fired either by helicopter, submarine, or surface the Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW ship designed specifically for this purpose. The limited range of fire of the enemy’s cruise missile systems used for nuclear weapons delivery dramatically reduce the search range. The following units will be deployed for this purpose:
Sub Hunter Group 1:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Sea Fighter LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter 1 Los Angeles Class Submarine
Sub Hunter Group 2: (First searches Tiran, then moves back to the Med.)
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Sea Fighter LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter
Sub Hunter Group 3:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Giuseppe Garibaldi-class ASW Carrier 15 AS332 Super Puma ASW Helicopter
Sub Hunter Group 4:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Independence Class LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter
Sub Hunter Group 5:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Independence Class LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter
An additional 25 Sayeh Naval Drone (clone of ScanEagle), with ranges of up to 100 km, will be launched to help in the detection of enemy submarines.
Objective:
- Use naval intel obtained prior to the first strike to position in a way that the Israeli nuclear submarines in the mediteranean can be neutralized
Hotamah Phase II
After the nuclear strike which would end Israel’s nuclear arsenal, which would last in the order of minutes, followup strikes would be ordered on their airbases as a horde of UAR Aircraft begin dropping JASSM and SEAD munitions on Israeli air defense in the area, targeting aircraft believed to be nuclear capable while still on the ground.
With UAR Air Defenses featuring quantum radar technologies obtained from China, and the UAR’s newest aircraft featuring advanced stealth suites and EW, it is hoped that the enemy’s air defenses would be promptly suppressed and enemy aircraft that do manage to take off shot down. Operating the Arrow 3 as an ABM, the David’s Sling as an air defense system, and the iron dome as an anti-rocket system, the Israelis have a decent air defense system… for the 2010s.
Extensive use will be made of EW aircraft to scramble enemy defenses during the attack, as well as simply strength in numbers as the Israelis cannot hope to intercept the large barrage of missiles fired from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Gaza, the air, and the Mediterranean sea at the same time 5 F-16CJ ELINT will be used for this purpose in addition to the 2 EC-130 ELINT aircraft mentioned earlier.
The UAR will also fire 20 conventional
Mudafi’ missiles, designed to counter the Arrow III, the schematics for which were generously provided by our allies in Laurentia. Combined with further tomahawk strikes on airbases and air defenses, as well as mass JASSM strikes and artillery barrages where applicable, the airbases and the air defenses presumably deployed at the [following sites]()
https://i.imgur.com/zJqN5y5.png will be destroyed, hopefully with much of the IAF as well. Emphasis will be placed on the early destruction of Nevatim Air base due to the presence of F-35s in that airbase.
The UAR has deployed a total of 180 5th generation aircraft, aircraft that are more advanced than the F-35 which defeated the F-15 with 20:1 odds. With experience in Iran, the UAR’s capable fighters will attempt to destroy much of the Israeli Air Force while they're still on the ground following the first wave of coordinated SEAD strikes on enemy air defense systems.
Israeli air bases will also be hit by a further salvo of 100 Tomahawk missiles each while the SEAD strikes are ongoing. Continued suppressive fire from Hezbollah and Hamas missiles will further augment the chances of the more sophisticated missiles hitting their mark.
Fortifications in the Golan Heights as well as Lebanon and the West Bank of the Jordan river will be struck in subsequent strikes and neutralized.
Aircraft deployed:
- 75 F-5C Delta Dart 5th gen++
- 80 F-31 Shenyang 5th gen
- 25 F-35 Block V 5th gen
- 150 Skyborg companion aircraft (for the 5th gens)
- 6 JH-9 Fighter-Bomber
- 75 F-15E Eagle 4th gen
- 50 Eurofighter Typhoon 4th gen
- 40 Panavia Tornado 4th gen
- 29 Mig-29 mainly for CAS once air superiority is reached
- 50 Mig-21 mainly for CAS once air superiority is reached
Once Phase 1 is complete and the Israeli air defense network is suppressed, the 580 aircraft deployed will assist with CAS operations and will bomb enemy supply lines.
The above aircraft will be supported by the Turkish deployment of F-16s that would perform similar strike operations, as well as friendly B-21 bombers from friendly Laurentian bases.
Objective:
- Moments after the nuclear first strike which disabled the Israeli arsenal, further SEAD strikes and air force decapitation strikes will be ordered
- Destroy the IAF while its on the ground, focusing on Nevatim AFB to eliminate the F-35s which pose the most threat
- Eliminate the Israeli air defense network through the use of munitions specifically designed with Israel’s systems in mind, as well as numerical superiority with respect to the number of munitions fired.
- Perform further strikes on airbases to neuter Israel’s air capabilities. This will be done with help from allies.
- Once the air-bases are destroyed, use the aircraft for CAS support and naval support, neutralizing enemy fortifications

The UAR currently operates several satellites such as the
Yaogan series which can be used to determine the bulk of Israel’s positions and bases prior to the attack.
In the initial attack, the Jobaria MLRS systems will provide firepower to demolish much of Israel’s fortifications in the Golan heights, feigning an attack from the Syrian side. However, knowing that the Syrian side is the most fortified compared to the Lebanese side, the UAR’s main northern advance will come from Lebanon. The intention is to pin down as many Israeli troops in the Golan Heights as possible while sending troops pouring southwards towards a line established from Haifa to Tiberias. Cutting off the bulk of the Israeli troops that would eventually run out of supply, the offensive would hopefully see the Golan and much of the Galilee fall to the UAR.
In the Golan Heights, extensive use of Nazir UGVs and Heydar Autonomous Swarm Vehicles will be used to combat minefields. Controlled from a distance, and with support from drones, the vehicles would be able to clear minefields with a minimal loss of life. The Jobaria strike, each of which fires 240 missiles per salvo, will assist in the destruction of minefields and defenses in the area. One Jobaria is said to
cover an area of 4 km2, 8 would cover far more. The Golan contingent will represent 2/5ths of the total force, with 3/5ths being deployed to Lebanon. The UNFIL will kindly be asked to leave/step aside.
The
Arabs in this section, which make up 53% of the population, will be encouraged to rise up, and Arab localities will be given small arms via airdrop. Seeing as they are actively discriminated against, and saw their holy sites destroyed, they would be more than willing to assist the UAR in liberating their homeland. Of the 700,000 Arabs in the territory, it is expected that some 70,000 would assist. They will be used to police the area and maintain the occupations of villages and towns liberated by UAR forces. This includes the Golan heights where a large number of Israeli troops would be stationed.
UAR forces boast a multitude of drones, partially deployed by
S.A.U.D drone vehicles (ie a successful version of the Dakotan slaughterbot project) which release swarms that can be used to provide full battlefield awareness to soldiers via their
personal helmet augmented reality HUDs. This would drastically reduce the cost of urban warfare and when combined with the larger UCAVs and UAVs flying overhead, helps integrate air, land, and sea combined firepower.
Extensive use of the UAR’s superior artillery and aerial intelligence will be used to target armored columns and harass enemy supply lines, ensuring that the UAR is well supplied in comparison to the Israelis. Close air support from helicopters as well as support air strikes from the aircraft deployed to the skies will help speed up the advance.
Furthermore, the UAR’s experience in urban warfare, owing to its abilities in the Syrian, Lebanese, Saudi, and Iranian wars will provide its professional army with an edge over the conscription based Israeli army who’s dated combat experience is largely based on waving guns at unarmed protestors and Palestinian children.
Objectives:
- Feign an attack into the Golan Heights, the real attack is a large deployment via Lebanon which is only fortified enough for Hezbollah, rather than an attack from a real army with large numbers.
- Utilize advantages in drones, artillery, and MLRS firepower to advance up to a line from Haifa to Nazareth and Tiberias, hopefully encircling troops trapped in the Golan.
- Arm local partisan groups who would presumably be upset at the Al-Aqsa situation and the rise of a government that actively discriminates against them… more than before… (this region is 53% Arab))

Operating over 50 bridges, and with air cover from Jordanian based air defense systems, the UAR will cross the Jordan River with three main thrusts, north, central, and south, which would be of equal size. This will involve the destruction of Israeli forces on the other side of the river through mass artillery. With what can only be described as the largest artillery barrage in history the entirety of the West Bank of the Jordan that is fortified by Israel will be struck by 471 Artillery units in addition to salvos fired by 50 MLRS systems with salvos of 3600 rounds per strike. This will be supplemented by air strikes from UCAVs and friendly aircraft.
In the north, defined as the West Bank to the Golan Heights, troops will attempt a push forward with similar tactics to that mentioned in the previous section towards Umm Al-Fahm to Nazareth. The pressure put on the Golan front will pin down troops that do not wish to forgo the high ground, as the unexpected large bridge crossing would occur. Once again, urban areas will be dealt with using the UAR’s drone tactics. 2/5ths of the Jordanian force will be deployed here. In the West Bank, the objective in sight is Jerusalem, as troops will attempt to seize much of the West Bank with support from artillery and air units. Liberated Palestinians who would be more than willing to fight will be provided with AKM rifles and shall act as auxiliaries. In the West Bank, with a population of approximately 4 million people (estimate based on 2%), at least 400,000 men would be willing to join. The destruction of the holy sites would see nearly every eligible man join the fight, and as such 400k is extremely conservative and a figure of closer to 2 million would be likely. The West Bank should already be in open revolt given the actions at Al-Aqsa, and as such the advance would be facilitated by Israeli troops being largely bogged down by the fighting . Friendly units in the region will work to sabotage Israeli military positions and supply lines and shall assist the advance, particularly in Jerusalem proper. 2/5ths of the Jordanian force will be deployed here.
Once the troops reach Jerusalem, special care will be taken to prevent the destruction of additional holy sites, and prevent Israel from destroying sensitive Holy sites important to Arabs such as the Church of the Holy Sepulhcre and the St. James Cathedral. Jerusalem’ population, which is 38% Arab despite Israeli ethnic cleansing, will be instrumental to assisting the UAR’s advance.
In the south, along the Negev Desert, troops will establish a land connection to Egypt by Seizing Eilat. The Negev is sparsely populated, and relatively open, allowing large armored units to be targeted from the skies and by missile. Urban combat is similarly less of a concern as the towns are notably smaller, and easier to place under martial law. UAVs and UCAVs will be used extensively to destroy armored columns, as the battle becomes one of range and maneuvering. Friendly Bedouins, Muslims who make up 25% of the Negev’s population, will be used as local auxiliary units, with some 20-30k out of the 400k strong population (estimate based on 1%) willing to assist. With 1/5th of the Jordanian force deployed here, the objective is to push forward and control Highway 40 (Line from Eilat to Beersheeba to the West Bank) by attacking from the east.
Once again, given the range of the UAR’s air defense systems in Jordan, the troops should be reasonably protected against Israeli incursions as the Quantum Radar batteries should be able to easily pick up the few F-35s that may have survived the original blast, and most certainly the F-16s that survived.
Objectives:
- Three pronged attack seeking to take advantage of Israel’s spread out forces by attacking the entire eastern border.
- Utilize advantages in drones, artillery, and MLRS firepower to advance up to a line from Eilat in the south, to beersheeba, to the West Bank border, to Nazareth in the north.
- Arm local partisan groups who would presumably be upset at the Al-Aqsa situation and would likely already be in open revolt after the destruction of the holiest Islamic sites.
Air Defense
The UAR boasts some of the tightest air defense systems in the world, with numerous layers of Radar
tested specifically against the type of aircraft Israel is expected to deploy with successful tests. The Quantum radar within the chinese designed, UAR produced HQ-90 ABM and Air Defense System provides the UAR with protection against stealth aircraft and ballistic missile threats within 600 km [Analogous to an upgraded S-500]. The Ramah-II Quantum Systems provide 100 km of coverage [Analogous to an upgraded Patriot] and protection from cruise missiles and stealth aircraft. The LPD-I laser point defense batteries provide laser point defense within 20 km against smaller munitions. Additionally, THAAD, and Patriot batteries have been deployed across the country as well as HQ-19 batteries, integrated with the quantum radar suites elsewhere.
While the UAR already has a vast array of
air defense systems deployed, it shall be deploying additional systems to key sites including:
- Mecca
- Medina
- Jeddah
- Riyadh
- Dammam
- Baghdad
- Mosul
- Tikrit
- Damascus
- Hasakah
- Aleppo
- Latakia
- Beirut
- Tyre
- Suwayda
- Rutba
- Basra
- Hafar Al batin
- Jazan
- Tabuk
Each site will be protected with 3 HQ-90 Batteries, 2 Patriot Batteries, 2 Ramah-II Batteries, and 1 LPD-1 Batteries. 2 THAAD Batteries will be placed at Medina, Damascus, and Beirut and 1 THAAD Battery will be placed in Baghdad.
This layout ensures that cruise missiles fired from the mediteranean will have ample time to be detected and intercepted by the Ramah-II batteries designed specifically for this purpose, with multiple layers of security should a missile fail to be intercepted. With each HQ-90 battery being able to intercept and track up to 20 missiles at a time within 3 seconds of firing, each deployment should theoretically be able to protect against the entirety of the Israeli nuclear arsenal which is estimated at 80-120 nuclear weapons. With 60 HQ-90 systems deployed, as well as redundancies and overlapping coverage, the UAR should be able to intercept anything that Israel may have been able to save.
The UAR has not forgotten its allies, as it has already deployed 5 HQ-90 Quantum ABM/ADS Batteries, 10 Patriot-3 Batteries in the above cities, 30 LPD-1, and 15 Ramah-II in Amman, Irbid, Ma’an, Ajloun, and Russeifa. Jordan’s location between Israel and much of the UAR means that these systems would intercept missiles headed for the UAR as well. The Egyptian deployment similarly consists of 5 HQ-90 ABM Systems,10 Ramah-II ACM Batteries, and 10 LPD Laser Point Defense Batteries deployed to Alexandria, Asyut, Cairo, Aswan, and Port Said.
To further improve interception chances, 10 KJ-3000 AWAC, 6 Boeing E-3s, and 2 Saab 2000s will be used to provide round the clock airborne warning and control to track potential hostile airborne threats.
Lastly, the Arleigh Burkes currently deployed in the Mediterranean theatre are equipped with an AEGIS SM-2 system that would be capable of intercepting missiles fired from the Mediterranean sea within range. This provides yet another layer of protection from enemy missiles.
Note that the deployment of batteries in Lebanon, Jordan, and Egypt, allow for the UAR’s air coverage to include the entirety of Israel greatly affecting the enemy’s abilities to field aircraft.
Objective:
Naval Deployment
The naval deployment intends to neutralize Israel’s submarine based nuclear arsenal by deploying various “Sub-hunter Groups” that would utilize intelligence about submarine positions in the relatively shallow Mediteranean (compared to the open sea). These groups would neutalize the submarines and then work towards eliminating the Israeli surface fleet, be it in port or in the water. The bulk of the force will be in the mediteranean, with Sub Hunter Group 3 clearing the Straits of Tiran prior to moving back to the Meditereanean.
Sub Hunter Group 1:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Sea Fighter LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter 1 Los Angeles Class Submarine
Sub Hunter Group 2:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Sea Fighter LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter
Sub Hunter Group 3:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Giuseppe Garibaldi-class ASW Carrier 15 AS332 Super Puma ASW Helicopter
Sub Hunter Group 4:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Independence Class LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter
Sub Hunter Group 5:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Sea Hunter Autonomous ASW Ship 1 Independence Class LCS 5 Silorsky ASW Helicopter
An additional “Fleet Destroyer” Group which would destroy the Israeli surface fleet while the other groups hunt for submarines, in port on on the water, the enemy’s ships will be destroyed. This will be made up of:
3 Arleigh Burke Flight II Destroyer 3 Ticonderoga Class Cruisers 2 Medina Class Frigates 3 Badr Class Corvettes
Extensive use of Naval UAVs such as the Sayeh Drone and the Fotros Drone will be used in eliminating the enemy’s naval capabilities. Munition drones, specifically, some 400 LJ-2 drones, will target Israeli warships during naval engagements to increase the odds of a direct hit. Aircraft mentioned in previous sections, once air superiority is achieved, will assist in dropping AshM munitions on the enemy.
Once the enemy’s fleet is destroyed, naval assets will provide shore bombardment support to attack Israeli Army positions.
Objective:
- Focus first on killing submarines
- Neutralize the notably smaller Israeli Navy
- Navally Bombard Israely ground positions

The Ultimate Console Repair Guide
Even though i posted this before. I thought i share this again for those that need help with repairs. If anyone wants to share any more tips comment below.
Hi i thought i share some tips for the systems i have repaired. You may need to have good soldering skills depending on the fault of your system. More info on soldering is here:
https://www.reddit.com/consolerepaicomments/dt5tn5/soldering_tips_everyone_needs_to_know/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf Console 5 is a great website for parts console5.comWeb result with site linksConsole5.com
Here is some info on the common faults on some consoles aswell as their fixes. Also whilst you taking apart your system clean the system with a soft brush and isopropyl alcohol and always make sure to check if the capacitors are bad. Capacitors can leak over time and it's best to replace them before they do. Console 5 sells capacitor kits for all sorts systems plus they’re high-quality genuine capacitors from companies like Nichicon and Panasonic. And can save you a lot of time and hassle. If you don't like repairing CD/DVD there is also an ODE (Optical Drive Emulator for systems like the Dreamcast, Saturn, PS1, PS2, Gamecube)
List of consoles
Xbox 360 1st model Xenon and Zephyr. Have the infamous Red Ring of Death issue ( The cause of this is the Motherboard flexing due to the overheating gpu. Reheating the GPU with a rework station can probably fix this but most of the time, the GPU is dying and needs to be replaced. Though sometimes you can get it working by using a heat gun and using higher quality thermal paste to prevent it from overheating. But if it fails again switch to the later Fat models Jasper, Kronos (Jasper V2) and the Slim/E models. More info can be found here:
https://beta.ivc.no/wiki/index.php/Xbox_360_Revisions Ways to tell 360’s apart:
https://weekendmodder.com/identify.html Phat PS3 and early model PS3 Slims Yellow Light of Death (NEC Tokin Caps are prone to failure. Replacing it with 470uf Tantalum Caps for Phat model and 330uf for PS3 Slim model should fix it permanently. Watch out for fake capacitors, buy from sites like Digikey.

https://imgur.com/gallery/NrhdQoY PS4 Blue Light of Death BLOD Can be repaired by replacing the APU chip if that’s even possible, or if your lucky with a rework station. As for drive issues. If the laser mechanism doesn’t work. Open it up and see if any gears are loose. If it doesn’t turn on at all you may have a dead fuse on the BlueRay drive board. The BlueRay Drive board cannot be replaced since it's married to the console. Replacing the fuses or the entire system is your only option unless you have CFW installed. Wii the only issue i can think of is the laser failing, but i did have an issue with the original PSU where the 2R2Y power inductor was blown.
Wii U GamePad’s U18 Charge IC can fail. If your Gamepad doesn’t turn on even with a new battery and a different charger then this chip may have failed. More info is in this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFxCesFJ8ms. The chip says SN1010007 and it can be bought from AliExpress, eBay, Texas Instruments or this site
https://thesavepoint.co.uk/product/nintendo-wii-u-gamepad-power-charging-ic-u18 Dreamcast Random Resets and Disc Read Issues (Grease the rails, replacing or cleaning with isopropyl alcohol/adjusting the laser would fix the laser and thickening the PSU legs with solder i recommend replacing the psu with a Pico PSU. As for lasers earlier model Dreamcast’s use a more rounded shaped laser SPU3200 and the later models use a more square shaped laser R48G). If controller ports don’t work replace the fuse on the controller pcb you can upgrade it to a fuse that resets. I can't think of any other issue besides a failed mod if so going over your mod work with plenty of flux high-quality solder.
PS2 Disk Read Error (Replace the old laser with a new laser or cleaning/adjusting the old laser would fix it, if that doesn’t fix you may need to replace the driver chip) If you have other issues like no video check the continuity of the fuses with a multimeter. If it beeps it works if not it’s dead and can probably be replaced with a resettable fuse.

https://imgur.com/gallery/TzDUT7K Original Xbox Error codes, FRAG, not reading a disc, leaking clock capacitor, failed caps,Trace Corrosion (Most error codes can be bypassed with a TSOP or a modchip install. Any issues with the laser. Clean with isopropyl alcohol, grease the rails, adjust or replace the laser Samsung Disc drives tend to be the most reliable you either have a Samsung, Philips, Hitachi or a Thomson disc drive the model number is going to be written somewhere on the DVD Drive examples of lasers you may have in your Xbox SOH-D16, SOH-D12, SPU-3141, as for clock capacitor remove it. If it leaks causing a Frag it depends where the leak has spread and what traces are damaged clean the motherboard and or fix the damaged traces.
The best course of action on the earlier model Xboxes 1.0 to 1.5 before the 1,6 models aka known as models produced before 2004 is to remove the clock capacitor as soon as possible before it leaks onto the motherboard. To repair trace corrosion. This is when your Xbox automatically turns when plugged in on or the eject/ power button doesn’t work, is to rewire the power button, and or the eject button sometimes you can be lucky, and cleaning the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol can fix this.) A FRAG is the worst of them all it can be many things such as a bad chip, bad modchip install, failed mod, damaged trace, bad capacitors most likely, anything really. It’s the one error you do not want to have. If you do try to find what caused it. May just be a dead capacitor somewhere on the board.
Original Xbox Repair guide
http://adriancallaghan.co.uk/wp-content/downloads/Guides/XBOX_REPAIR_GUIDE.pdf Xbox Trace Corrosion Repair
https://www.ogxbox.com/forums/index.php?/topic/29-how-to-fix-trace-corrosion/ NES Blinking Light (Replacing the 72 pin or boil the original pin connector and bending the pins or replacing it with the Blinking Light Win from Arcade Works should permanently fix the blinking light issue) another issue can be a dead 7805 voltage regulator or dead capacitors. Or if your unlucky a dead PPU chip, somebody needs to make replica's of those, a PlayChoice 10 replica would be nice.
Blinking Light Win NES
https://www.arcadeworks.net/blw Sega MegaDrive/ Genesis No Power (Reflow the DC Port. I suggest using high-quality leaded solder 6337 from a reputable brand. To maintain a stronger connection) sometimes the 7805 can fail. Or bad just like any other system.
PS1 Laser Failure (Adjust the pot, clean the laser, and grease the rails if they aren't damaged. If they are replacing the laser. If you have an early model PS1 the hot PSU is to blame for the laser failing and if you can. I suggest replacing it with a Pico PSU or buy a later model PS1 or a PSOne laser which is more heat resistant). If your disc doesn't spin even with a pot adjustment or a new laser. Then either the transistor BV3,4,5 is dead or it’s the drive chip that tells the PS1 to spin the discs has failed and will need replacing. The chip is called BA6392FP or earlier models and BA5977FP.
But I would always check the fuse PS606, or the transistoIC601 . Most CD/DVD based consoles have similar kinds of chips like the Sega Saturn which also gives off the same faults. You will need a rework station to desolder the bad chip. If you get bad audio, reflow the audio chip with good quality solder. If the Controlle memory card ports are not working replace the controller fuse PS605 on the motherboard. A black screen and or no response from the laser can also indicate a dead fuse check all the PS60X fuses, check the BVX transistor, IC601 regulator. The PSU could also be dead, but usually, it wouldn’t power on. More technical info can be found in this service manual below.
http://www.elisanet.fi/6581/PSX/doc/The_ultimate_Playstation_service_manual.pdf PS1 Schematics:
https://console5.com/wiki/Playstation GameBoy Vertical Lines (Reflow the LCD screen ribbon) or replace the screen. More info here:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4osON9egOI If your Gameboy is freezing randomly or not powering on. There could be some blown fuses somewhere or you can buy a new power board from RetroSix. It’s more power efficient, higher quality, more reliable and the speaker will sound cleaner.
https://retrosix.co.uk/CleanPower-Regulator-Board-for-Game-Boy-Original-DMG-p141361110 GameBoy Advance/ SP model no power (Replace the F1/F2 fuse) whilst you're at it replace the screen with an IPS/AGS101 backlit screen. It will look much better.
Check out My Life in Gaming's video on Gameboy screens.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M90C3BdTjIc&ab_channel=MyLifeinGaming DS Black Screen (Replace F1/F2 fuse). Doesn’t read games check the cart slot and if it’s damaged use Chip Quik to desolder the cart slot. Make sure to line up the new cart with the case before soldering it in. Sometimes the P6 connector can break. Replacements can be bought online.
PSP/PSP Go Black Screen replace the fuses on the motherboard don’t know what they’re called or where exactly here is the info:
www.acidmods.com › ... › PSP GoWeb resultsPSP GO fuse locations. - Acidmods.com
PSP. I encountered issues with my 1000 model PSP. What i learned was if there is any sort of damage to the WiFi board the PSP will not turn on. Replacing it will fix this issue, and if you are also one of these people that may have damaged the WiFi/Memory Card board. Perhaps it has water damage. Then i recommend cleaning it with IPA and go over the solder. If it doesn’t fix it then replace it. Make sure to match the number for example MS-329, MS-299. otherwise you will get no sound.
Any UMD issues clean/tweak the laser or replace the drive and make sure to screw it in from the outside iFixit should be useful for any tear downs. Also press the lever to test the laser to see if it turns on then your good. But if it doesn’t turn on with the disc in, then there is an issue with the tray. The metal tray has two-prongs, make sure to bend them out a bit so that the tray can reach the lever. Or you can remove the UMD drive and replace it with a 5000mah battery and use an SD card for playing games. PSP Go style.
Sega GameGear Black Screen/No Sound (Replace the caps with high-quality caps like Nichicon and Panasonic caps. No power? replace the Q3 transistor on the power board with a 2SB1301 and clean the motherboard with isopropyl alcohol. Faulty screen Benn Venn, MCWILL, Chinese Suppliers sell modern replacement LCD’s for the Game Gear and the Lynx they make a huge difference in battery life, cooling and picture quality. If you want to save money you can replace the power-hungry backlight bulb with an led backlight such as one from a DS Lite screen this would also increase battery life drastically and reduce heat.
Sega Saturn not reading discs/ black screen (Clean the laser with ipa, grease the rails. If the disc doesn’t move at all even with a new laser. Then replace the cd controller chip on the cd drive board. BA6798S chip you’ll have to desolder that and replace it. Sega Saturn uses an Optima 6S laser. As of current, they are readily available and cheap. I recommend buying an extra one in case the other one fails. To fix the black screen issue. I suggest replacing the PSU you can change it out for a Pico PSU. If you have a blown psu on your import Saturn replace the varistor and the fuse.
PC Engine/TurboDou i suggest replacing the caps, voltage regulator, any issues with reading discs adjust/clean the laser or replace it with a new HOP-M3 Laser. Check out Retro ManCave's video on the PCE
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VxAmCYXp_0&ab_channel=RetroManCave Atari 5200 Controller not working (Replace the flex circuit or use a 3rd party controller if there are any. There is also an AV and power mod for the 5200. ThisDoesNotCompute has an interesting video on the 5200 check it out:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dt_iuxAvxGU&ab_channel=ThisDoesNotCompute Atari Jaguar No power (Replace the U38 and Reg1 Chips i can’t remember what causes this issue. But i think it is to do with using the wrong PSU Plug. There is also a mod to fix this issue from it happening ever again.
CD Era consoles 3DO, Sega CD, Amiga CD32, Atari Jaguar CD, Neo Geo CD it is most likely going to be a bad Capacitor, CD rails, LaseCD Drive chip issues.

[Translation] Which La Liga club fits each Premier League team?
Good morning lads and lassies of soccer. To celebrate that the Bundesliga finally comes back I bring you the transcripton/translation of a pretty interesting video I had watched some time ago, related (and literally titled) "Which La Liga team fits each team of the Premier League?" Now, I know the issue about fans that have simpathy for "second" teams is polarizing and as we all know after last year, it can become something completely vomitive, but this video is indeed trying to give fans of Spanish clubs reasons to like a particular English club, and with that said, tbh I believe at the end of the day most fans, plastic or not, do feel at least some simpathy for some clubs above others excluding their own. From the small town fan who supports their local club but also the "big" team that challenges for the league in the top division, to the Ultra that hates every club of their country that isn't his but do likes a foreign club of which he befriended their respective Ultras in the past, I'm pretty sure that most football fans do feel at least a bit of simpathy for some particular club of a foreign league. But well, that discussion shouldn't be the topic of this. The fact is that these Spaniards of the video do like particular English clubs and to guide other similar Spaniards analyzed the situation and created this "guidebook" about which Premier League club "currently" fits each La Liga club, and that is what will be shown here. With a last emphasis in the "currently", there's nothing else to say as preview. Just remember that these aren't my opinions and I'm only sharing what they decided. Newcastle United & Athletic Club
- Both are clubs that come from the northern parts of their countries. The Basque Country literally faces the English Channel, while Newcastle is in North-East England, facing both Scotland and the Northern Sea.
- Both have pretty big stadiums with almost the same capacity (52k and 53k respectively) that also coincidentally are in the center of their respectives cities, something that is laudable in these modern times where stadiums are being designed to be in the outskirts, and not few clubs are forced to traslate them from their original places because of the economical advantages.
- And another thing that united them is that they are one of the few historical rich clubs that doesn't have a derby rival in their city. So, if you're born in Bilbao you better fucking support Athletic and there is no room for debate about it, and something similar happens in Newcastle. And in the same way, the derby that the clubs have actually have (Sunderland and Real Sociedad) goes beyond football and is a derby between the whole cities.
- They faced each other in the 94/95 UEFA Cup Round of 16 and what highlights it was that it was an epic clash that ended in a global 3-3 draw where Athletic won thanks to away goals, and that in the second leg had a pitch invasion from Basque fans that after celebrating with their team, went to laud the away stand, as the English visitors had been great and even cheered for Athletic after the end of the match, thing that a lot of old fans from both clubs would remember forever.
- That match would be so iconic for some that Rob Lee, one of the best Newcastle players of the last decades, would require his farewell match for the Geordie team to be... against Athletic. And such wish was granted.
Crystal Palace & Getafe
- Both are clubs from the south of the metropolitan areas of the capital of their countries. Selhurst for London and Getafe for Madrid respectively.
- Both are managed by tacticians with a similar ethos: Bordalás and Hodgson. The parallels of both teams are easily spotted when you watch both teams: strong rigid defenders, fast strikers, sitting back and counterattacks, the whole 4-4-fucking-2 package, et al.
- Vicente Guaita played for both teams, and in fact was directly tranferred from Madrid to London.
- Both have blue as their main colour,
Liverpool & Real Madrid
- Both are the European royalty of their respective leagues. Real Madrid is just the most successful in history and nobody comes close, while Liverpool has the double of Champions Leagues than the second most succesful English team and only Milan between them and Real.
- Both stand out for their mentality and comebacks. Istanbul and Lisbon, for example, are among the most dramatic Champions League finals in the whole history. One team comeback from a 3-0 in the first half, the other tied and later won a match that they were losing until the 90'+3.
- Xabi Alonso, Steve McManaman, Alvaro Arbeloa, Dudek, Antonio Núñez, Rafa Benitez, Michael Owen, Fernando Morientes and the greatest of all, Nuri Sahin, served in both clubs.
- Both stand out for being the best teams of the 20th century in their countries by far, which nevertheless suffered many years of drought after the golden years until they eventually achieved an epic again, being Mijatovic's goal and the penalty saved by Dudek, the final actions that crowned them for the first time in decades as European champions for the seventh and fifth time, respectively.
Norwich & Valladolid
- Both won the league cup of their countries in the same years (84/85).
- Both highlight for the atypical colour of their kits (violet and yellow/green).
- Both are the biggest teams of relatively isolated counties.
- Mohammed Salisu plays for Valladolid and has been linked to Norwich.
Bournemouth & Eibar
- The two smallest stadiums of each league. Dean Court has a capacity of barely above 11,000 in a league where the average is above 40k, while the Municipal de Ipurua has only... 8164 seats.
- Likewise, both are clubs from pretty small cities that almost nobody would know if it wasn't for their football teams. Lets just say that Eibar isn't exactly in the same tier of the other Basque cities like Bilbao, San Sebastian or Pamplona, while Bournemouth only has 190k inhabitants and was founded as recently as the 19th century, something strange for English standards.
- And finally and ringing the same bells, they are two small teams that were promoted to the top tier for the first time ever in recent years (2014-15) to the first division, and that also coincidentally, have never descended from that time despite their (lack) of historical status.
Burnley & Alaves
- Both are extremely physical and defensive teams that also highlight for their lack of possesion (the lowest and second lowest of their leagues respectively).
- Turf Moor and the Estadio de Mendizorroza have almost exactly the same capacity (20k).
- John Guidetti played for both.
Sheffield United & Mallorca
- Both are clubs with over a century of history, however, both are currently united by their quick promotions of recent years. Few clubs do it each season, but those who climb two divisions practically in-a-row, even less.
- The English club was in the third tier of the English pyramid from 2013 to 2017, after which they won the promotion to the Championship after becoming champions with 100 points. After that, they finished 10th in their first season there, just to assure the promotion in dramatic tones after Leeds implosion in the late stages of the 18/19 season.
- Meanwhile the island club was even more epic in their promotions. After failing to Segunda B (the third tier of Spanish football) for the first time in 40 years, they fired everybody but 4 players, but still were able to win their local group of the division and later compete in the final play-offs that gave the promotion spots, and in that they first assured a promotion spot and later become champions of the division. And then? they arrived to the Second Division with the hopes of not being relegated, but overperformed and in an epic way assured the last position that gave a spot to the play-off for the final promotion spot, and despite losing 2-0 in the first leg of the final, the won 3-0 the second leg and completed their return from the Third Division to La Liga in the fastest possible way.
- Finally but not less important, both have red in their kits.
Brighton & Levante
- Both are small clubs from coastal towns.
- Both won the promotion from the second division in 16/17.
- Brighton logo shows a seagull and they're known as such.
- Levante's coast has a record for having the biggest number of a certain breed of seagulls in the whole world.
Leicester & Villarreal
- Both are clubs that are relatively small when it comes to historical status... and for the same reason both were part of some of the best underdogs stories of the world in recent decades.
- Villarreal, the Yellow Submarine, comes from a small Valencian city of around 50k, and despite having a history of almost a century, they never reached the top division until 1998, just to be relegated in the same year. But they didn't gave up and came back to La Liga as quickly, and this time they stayed, and in what a way! Pellegrini's Villarreal spearheaded by Román Riquelme and Diego Forlán surprised Europa by ending third in La Liga just behind the Galacticos and Ronaldinho's Barca and won the right to play the 2005/06 Champions League, in what would end being their greatest moment in history so far by eventually reaching semifinals and barely losing the chance of playing the final in their first season thanks to some cursed penalties against the Arsene Wenger club. Even in defeat, the history that they made was epic as few others.
- But one that actually was it even more was what Leicester did exactly 10 years later in the Premiership. From barely avoiding being relegated to win the whole league was a FIFA Career-esque story, and for the same it will be remembered forever.
- And finally, what made even more iconic both legendary performances was the charisma of some of their players. Vardy, Forlán, Riquelme more precisely.
Southampton & Leganés
- Southampton are called the Saints and their stadium is named St Mary's.
- Leganes' stadium is called after a religious figure (Virgen de Butarque).
- Guido Carrillo and Mauricio Pellegrino served in both clubs.
Watford & Granada
- The Pozzo family: originally known from being the owners of Udinese in the Serie A, eventually the Italian family diversified their investments, first buying the small Spanish team in 2009, and later the English one in 2012. Because of financial reasons they sold their participation in Granada in the late 2016, aye, however, there was a timelapse that lasted years were both clubs where effectively in the same hands.
- And for the same reasons, a number of players have been "property" of both clubs. Isaac Success and Adalberto Peñaranda the most iconic of them.
Chelsea & Atletico Madrid
- Both are pretty big clubs in the capital but that have lived in the shadow of their historically bigger neighbour for more time than not, a certain Arsenal and Real Madrid respectively.
- An impressive number of illustrious names have passed through both teams, and not few times from one to the other and even in some times back again: Fernando Torres, Diego Costa, Filipe Luis, Thibaut Courtois, Mateja Keman, Tiago Mendes, Maniche, Radamel Falcao, Jesper Grönkjaer, Hasselbaink, Morata, and more.
- Both suffered for tragic defeats in the Champions League final, Chelsea in 2008, Atleti in 2014 (and 2016). One team had their captain slip and missed the crucial penalty, the other ended losing a final that was winning until the 90'+3. Coincidentally, all those finals were between teams from the same country.
Tottenham & Sevilla
- Both have white jerseys.
- Both were managed in recent years by Juande Ramos.
- Both are famous because of their fierce rivalry with a neighbour, that makes them part of one of the most iconic derbies in their country.
- Both are clubs that have a long history and that in recent years have had a pretty great period, but still weren't able to truly displace or replace the historically bigger clubs from their place.
- Diego Armando Maradona.
Manchester United & Valencia
- Both are of the biggest clubs with the biggest fanbases of their country, and both are currently underperforming when you see their historical status, which enrages such fans.
- Both have some of the worse owners that a big club that want sportive instead of just financial success could have, and that are one of the main causes of their decline in recent years: the Glazers and Peter Lim.
- And fanbases of both clubs also hate the right-hand of their owners that is the most direct responsible of the sportive issues of their clubs: Anil Murthy and Ed Woodward.
- Peter Lim is also a big Man United fan and the owner of restaurants and pubs with Mancunian thematics in his Asian domains... and is also a partial owner of the Class of 92's creation, Salford City.
- Gary Neville and Juan Mata are some names that both clubs share.
- And finally but also most important: Valencia played against Valencia in Valencia.
Everton & Real Sociedad
- Both are proud clubs with an illustrious history despite being the smaller club compared to their more famous neightbours, and also are clubs that these days suffer more time than not.
- Both had their peak in the 80's, with Everton two leagues and one cup, exactly the same numbers than la Real. That decade would also be the last one when they had any major success, with Sociedad only being able to say that they ended second in the 02-03 La Liga and the Toffees with that they won a FA Cup in 95'.
- David Moyes.
Manchester City & Barcelona
- Pep Guardiola, of course.
- Also of the first stages of the changes after the arrival of the Sheikh was the creation of a sports city for young players, imitating la Masia, probably the second most famous thing of the Spanish club.
- And another was the bet for a female team, in what now both are powers, unlike their historical rivals that are shamefully far behind them on it despite their historical status.
- Also beyond Pep there are other people that both clubs share: Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain, financial director and sports director respectively of both teams in the past and now.
- Claudio Bravo played for both, although with different kind of performances.
- And finally, not a few Barcelona fans today complain that the closest thing to the Barca that touched the sky today is Manchester City.
West Ham & Espanyol
- Both are clubs of a big city where there are bigger teams. West Ham is arguably the 4th biggest London club these days after Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, while Espanyol are the second biggest but loyalist club of Barcelona, where there is a certain secessionist bigger Catalan club.
- Both are clubs that have been almost all their history in the top division and yet have never won it. Likewise, both had their peaks and almost did it in the 80s, where both ended 3rd, in almost the same year (86' and 87').
- Both were clubs that had an old stadium as traditional as loved (Estadi de Sarrià and the Upton Park) that were eventually replaced by stadiums built by the city for the Olympics (Espanyol eventually left his one though).
- Both have never being relegated to the third division of their countries despite being some of the oldest clubs around.
- Both had their bittersweet European moments, sweeter definitely for West Ham though.
Wolves & Real Betis
- Both are the club with most Mexicans of their league, Raul Jimenez vs Diego Lainez plus Andres Guardado respectively, what makes their teams far more popular than what they should in the CONCACAF giant.
- Joey Guðjónsson and Alfred N'Diaye played for both clubs.
- Six Portuguese have played for Betis in this century. Six Portuguese play for Wolves this season.
- They played a friendly last year.
Aston Villa & Celta de Vigo
- Both are related to the sky-blue colour.
- Both clubs are characterized for having a player that is almost a demigod for the fans and club overall: Jack Grealish and Iago Aspas.
- Those demigods are local players who have been fans of their club since they were children, and love them so much that played for them even in the second division.
- Both teams currently have their great derby rivals in the second division (Birmingham and Deportivo La Coruña). -They played in the late 90s in the UEFA Cup.
Arsenal & Osasuna
- Both are related to the colour red.
- Both are known for having local fans closer to the left-wing of politics.
- Nacho Monreal, Carlos Vela and Fran Merida played for both teams.
- Both won their league in 1953.
*and that's it. Hope that you liked it as I did. Do you have any opinions about how to make this even more accurate? feel free to share them.
