My boyfriend and I were talking about the Godzilla statue you can get in game and I said "When the game is complete, I bet it destroys your island." I then came up with this genius theory.
I increased all of mine and my wife's boyfriend debt
I’ve done well, 69k to 420k in the hole, and I refuse to fucking sell. My wife's bf has been working his ass off keeping my wife satisfied so she can pay off his old credit cards. I asked him to use his credit card last Thursday night, took his phone, and and entered 300k of NKLA calls expiring last Friday on his RH acct. We used my personal RH acct the other day and lost another 51k in calls Hello bankruptcy, more student loan, credit card debt, and yeah even wife's boyfriend's credit card debt to pay off. I still have plenty to play with, and at least now if I go the way of the other retards, I’ll know I did something useless by betting on NKLA. Positions: NKLA calls forever, and never be afraid to be the biggest NKLA bull on the daily red days to squeeze an extra few grand in debt while you and your wife's boyfriend acct bleeds. Edit 1: And yes, I am a simp. Edit 2: FUUUUCK he left my wife for RichieTah after seeing his post. Who is gonna satisfy my wife now :( Edit 3: After me giving him the sucky sucky he and my wife are back, it's all good now.
I help someone get revenge on their gold-digging ass of an SO
This happened some years ago but was just reminded of it, so here you go Reddit! I worked as a front desk agent in a large luxury hotel chain for some years. One particular hotel I worked at was located really close to the downtown area and so we got a large number of young, very wealthy, business people who loved to party. I usually worked the 2nd & 3rd shifts which meant I got to see loads of drunken hookups, breakups, cheating, hookers, and more. This particular one though...this is one I will never forget. I was working at the desk when a group of young, well-dressed men come walking in. They've all clearly been drinking, but aren't so drunk that they can't walk right and hold a conversation. One of them comes up to me and tells me that while he and his friends were at the bar, a woman was hitting on him, and even though he told her no multiple times she wouldn't stop. So he and his friends left and it wasn't until they got in the Uber that he realized he didn't have his room key anymore. He thinks she took it and he's concerned that she may come up to his room, he asked that I deactivate his keys and if she does come up to the hotel to not let her in. When he was telling me all of this, it didn't sit right with me. He and his friends were all grinning about it and snickering amongst one another. Then he gave a clear description of her, without being asked. Told me height, body shape, hair color, and style, the kind of dress she was wearing. All while saying it in a mocking tone. Now, this could have easily been because he thought the whole thing was ridiculous or was too drunk to take it seriously, but it really didn't sound right to me. Either way, I did as I was trained in that situation. I pulled up his reservation, deactivated the keys as requested, made him a new set when he showed me his ID, and even offered to move him to a new room if that would make him feel more comfortable. He and his buddies all laughed a little at that and he declined, took the keys and they went to their room. About an hour or so later, the woman he described showed up. Now, by this point, my relief for the night had also shown up and was sitting at the front desk while I was in the back office counting down my cash drawer. I hadn't had a chance to tell him about the woman. Just as I'm walking out of the back office with my bag and about to leave, I see my coworker buzz the doors open and the woman comes rushing in, cuts through the lobby and down the hall to the elevators. She was barefoot, holding her heels in her hands, and knew exactly where she was going. I rushed up to him and told him what the man from before had told me about her. My coworker looked at me confused. He then pointed to the screen that had the reservation pulled up and told me that when the woman arrived, she went to use the room keys and they didn't work. So he asked for her room number and last name, she gave both and her name is on the reservation. I looked at the reservation and down in the notes, there was a woman's name listed. The man from before was listed as the primary, but her name was listed as secondary with his consent to be in the room. I was confused, I thought maybe she wasn't the same woman he was talking about. But, to be on the safe side I called the man in his room and told him the situation and that we allowed a woman, fitting that description he gave, to enter the building because she confirmed her name was on the room. He laughed, said he forgot her name was on the room and asked that I remove it. I was now super confused, I asked to make sure: Me: "Sir...just to be clear, the woman you met at the bar tonight was with you at check-in hours ago and was allowed keys then, but now she is not?" Him: (laughs to all his friends in the room) "Awww....guys I confused the poor girl." (gets back on the phone with me) "Yeah sweetheart, she's banned from the room. Don't worry about the other details, just take her name off." Me: "...I see. Then, if she isn't going to be on the room anymore, would you like us to call the police and have her removed from the property?" Him: "Hahaha...woah! That's too far there. Don't worry, she'll get the hint soon enough." We ended the call there and I got really suspicious of this. I told my coworker to not do anything and that I was going to stick around for a bit to see if anything happened. A short time later the woman came off the elevator, pouring tears, sobbing while on the phone with someone. She sat down in our lobby and my coworker and I tried to look busy while eavesdropping hard on her phone call. She was sobbing on the phone to her mom and sister. From what she told them, she was invited out to spend the week with her boyfriend meeting all of his old college buddies. This being their first-night they all met up for dinner and drinks. After a bit, she went to the restroom and when she came back she caught her boyfriend hitting on another woman. His friends all bet that he wouldn't do it. When she confronted him pissed off, he called her a bunch of names and humiliated her in front of his friends and the entire bar. All of his friends joined in on mocking her and he threw in her face that she was "nothing without him" and dumped her right there. He and his friends then took an Uber back and left her stranded at the bar with no money and no way back. She then had to use her phone's GPS and walk back to the hotel from the bar, barefoot (she had heels, and walking 2 miles in those was not going to cut it). She was asking her mom and sister for help as he wouldn't let her in the room to get her luggage or her wallet. My heart broke. I felt horrible. I helped this guy treat this poor woman like crap and now he and all his friends were up there laughing at her while she's sitting in our lobby sobbing and with nothing. I went over to our snacks area in the lobby, grabbed her a bottled water, and brought it to her. I told her that I couldn't help but overhear the conversation and was very sorry for her situation and asked if she would like us to help. I informed her that if he was keeping her from getting to her things, we could call the police and have them force him to hand over her things so she could leave if she'd like. Or if she wanted to let her mom or sister pay for a room we'd be happy to give her a very low rate in a room far from him. She thanked me, took the water, and tried to calm down and talk to me about what all was happening and what her options were. Eventually, we decided on her staying in the hotel for the night and figuring out the rest in the morning. As we make it to the desk, she asks me to try and run her credit card to see if it has enough on it for another room. I ask her what she means by "another room" and she tells me that she's actually paying for the room he's in. That his name is on the room because he booked it, but it's her card paying for everything. This intrigued me. I asked why she was paying for the room if it was in his name. She told me that she's the one with a job, not him. That he hasn't been able to find a job in his field since graduating from college and is essentially living off of his parents' money. But just after they started dating, his parents cut him off, so he's been living off of her money. That's why she was so upset and confused by how he had been acting all night, he was sweet and doing everything for her back home, but since he met up with his friends he did a 180 and hasn't been the same guy the entire time. I wanted to tell her that it was obvious he was using her for the money and that he would probably blame his friends for all of this and try to get back with her later on. But I doubted she would have listened to me or cared for a complete stranger to butt in on her personal life like that. So instead, I offered up a sweet piece of revenge. I informed her that, considering she's the one paying for the room, if she can confirm that it is her card on file with some sort of photo ID and verify the last 4 digits of the card number (That's honestly all this hotel company required) then she could, if she wanted to, kick him out of the room and keep it all to herself. But, considering how poorly her night has been, if she were indeed able to prove she is the one paying for the room, then I'd be more than happy to provide for her the biggest luxury upgrade we offered at our property. Largest suite we had, full hotel ammenity access, I'd even have my coworker fish out a bottle of champagne and some fresh strawberries for her to have sent to her room. All free of charge. She was taken aback by the offer and was very sincerely tempted, she looked like she was about to say no. Then I told her that since she would be upgrading her room, that would require moving her things from that room and into her new one. Which mean the room that she is currently listed in would need to be vacated immediately, if anyone were to remain in the room after we have demanded it be vacated, we are required to have them escorted off the property or they pay for the room. Their choice. She then thought about it, pulled up her card's banking app and showed me the screen. It had a photo of her, her full name, the card's full number, and the hold from our hotel for the room. She asked if that worked. It was good enough for me. I quickly upgraded her, moved everything over in the system and before I could say a word to my coworker he was already grabbing a set of master keys, a bell cart and was asking her what her luggage looked like since he would be the one retrieving it for her to deliver to her room. He didn't want her to have to deal with her ex again. She smiled and told him which ones were hers and that she hadn't unpacked yet. My coworker runs down to the elevators and up to fetch her things. While I make her a new set of keys and send her off to her new room. Once she's on the elevator, my phone at the desk starts ringing. It's the ex-boyfriend and he's very angry about why my coworker has entered the room and is taking her things. I calmly explain that I cannot give out the private information of any of our guests and that if he would like to remain in his room he will need to pay for it as there is no longer a method of payment on his room. He. Blew. Up. He's making a ton of demands and at the same time yelling at my coworker to stop what he's doing, but its obvious from the way he's yelling at him that my coworker isn't listening to him. I can even hear the guy's friends telling him to chill out and just pay for the room. I then explain that we will give him a courtesy 10 mins to make a decision. At which point, if he doesn't have payment ready then he must vacate the building or we will be forced to call the authorities and have him evicted. He continues to yell at me. He screams, swears, threatens, and yells for a solid minute before taking a breath. I then tell him he has 9 mins remaining and asks if he has come to a decision yet. He hangs up on me. 9 minutes later I call the room and he doesn't answer. I call again, no answer. I call a third time, he picks up, then immediately hangs up. I call the police and tell them what's going on and they said they're on their way. The officers arrive, I tell them what's going on, we go up to the room together and the man and his friends are all white as ghosts when they see the cops. The cops explain to the ex-boyfriend and his friends that they're being evicted. The ex-bf starts trying to talk to me but the cops stop him and tell him to only talk to them (I told him about his attitude on the phone before). The friends are all offering to pay for the room at this point and the cops look to me and ask if that would be acceptable. I smile very sweetly and say "no" and the cops nod and start rushing all of the guys to grab their things and leave the room. The ex-bf is the last one out the door carrying his 2 bags and complaining that he isn't even given a luggage cart and has to carry his own things. His friends all look pissed at him. I go with the officers to escort all of them out of the building and run into my coworker in the lobby. He waits until they're all outside in the parking lot to tell me that the woman is in her new room, loves it, and said no to the champagne, she just wanted to sleep. I didn't get to see her before she left town the next day, but the ex-bf did try calling our hotel to complain a number of times and even tried leaving some bad reviews of us online and lied through all of it. I hope she doesn't have to ever deal with him again. Edit: Thank you all so much for the awards! It's only been 1 day and I'm blown away by how much this story was loved! I normally do post my hotel stories to talesfromthefrontdesk but felt that this one would work here too so I posted it here first. Glad I did and I plan to repost there as well. Thank you all again for the love! I have a lot of asshole stories from working in that industry, very few wholesome stories, but this is my one and only revenge story. So really happy you all loved it! Thank you! Edit 2: Wanted to address some things you guys brought up in the comments:
I have no idea why she didn't use Uber instead of walking, probably due to the distress of the moment and didn't think of it. Honestly, if you're ever in that situation, despite being publicly humiliated like that, ask the staff for help. Either they think of something you're too panicked to think of or they'll be nice and pay for an uber for you. I've done it for people plenty when working in hotels. There's no shame in asking for help.
The credit card company is Capital One. I wasn't going to mention it since some subs immediately flag your story for listing major company names and didn't want to fuss with that. But yeah, their app lets you post a picture on your profile and, on most banking and credit card apps, you are able to pull up the full card number by clicking on the account information. Yes, technically I shouldn't have accepted this as a form of ID however, given how shit her night was, I didn't care.
Getting real tired of this. Gentle readers, your humble narrator is going to be over in the unicorn pen for a bit, grumbling about the constant parade of shady goobers. Been having at least one a week. Call came in, asking about room availability. Yes, we have rooms, price is $xx before tax. Can we take cash? Yes, but we need to have the full amount of the stay on the card. They hang up. A short time later, they call back. Can just do a deposit? No, the full amount has to be on the card. They hang up again. Third time, and Skwrl is getting frustrated. It is a different caller, but I can hear the exact same voices in the background. Can we use a PalPay card? No, our machine will not accept prepaid cards at all. They hang up. Seriously, is a 'goodbye' or 'okay' too much to ask for? Two minutes later, the phone rings again. I ignore it. Skwrl is really kind of done with shady people trying to finagle a room. For some unfathomable reason, lately they have been dead-set upon staying here. Not that hard, put the money on your card, have proper ID, and I won't care one bit. If someone cannot be bothered to meet basic requirements for renting a hotel room, then they can go stay at the Motel Number or whatever. Instead they have this need to sneak in under myriad false pretenses. About an hour later, a woman comes in. She has a reservation for tonight. As in after 3pm. Great. Thank you CookingBomb, we're already oversold for tomorrow... Wait. Where is it? Check for her name... Nope. Not there. Check all incoming for tomorrow? Nope. She has her reservation confirmation. That's CookingBomb's number, not ours, but can't find it either. I take a few more tries, but this reservation is completely missing. Damn NexusSin... No worries, I can just go ahead and make a new reservation. It is at this point I notice two things. First, a faint but noticable smell of weed. Okay not a problem, legal here, just make sure to mention the non-smoking policy. Second, her voice sounds familiar... Oh wait, she was the first person who called and... Yeah, she wants to pay cash. Long sigh. No, we need to have a card. Yes it needs to be for the full amount of the stay. You know, like I said over the phone. She doesn't have ID. Of course she doesn't. It was stolen! Uh huh. She does have a photo of it on her phone! No. Not gonna cut it. As an aside, who the heck keeps a photo of their ID on their phone except those who are trying to pull a fast one? What if she uses her boyfriend's card? She has his ID and everything. Convenient that she had those, almost like she knew that her stuff wouldn't work... No, he has to be here to use his card. Oh, but he's tired, doesn't want to have to come into the hotel? Um, no. So she goes off to the waiting car. I watch on the cameras. All they need to do is come up with an actual card that they can legitimately use. If the boyfriend comes in, they can use his card, just walk the fifty feet to the desk. Not hard at all... ah, nope, there they go. I spend some more time looking for the reservation, because if they're going to try pull that sort of crap, you damn well better believe I'm going to run a No Show charge. But nope, no reservation at all. Betting the confirmation email screen she showed me was completely bogus as well. Scammers sometimes have some very sophisticated tools, but that doesn't help when they're not smart enough to pull off the con. In any case, let this be a reminder to you all: having solid policies and sticking with them can save you a ton of grief when dealing with shady people. Might cost a legitimate sale, but it's worth it. Teal Deer; shady attempt to get into a room without a legitimate card goes poorly.
AITA for getting a guy banned and ruining his life?
So... This is kind of a weird situation... In my free time I (21F) like to play MMO's/RPG's. My boyfriend, friends and I are big DnD fans. Because of issues with the pandemic, our online nerdy sessions help keep us all connected and it has helped with my mental health, too. One of my friend's introduced me to a MMORPG (I won't say which for safety reasons) but it was basically everything I've wanted in a game. Before anyone asks, I don't do anything erotic, my boyfriend is fine with stuff like 'shipping'/making stories with other people, but we both are on the same page when it comes to ERP. Fast forward, we join a guild, everyone's nice, having a great time in our silly online lives. Logging in gave me something to look forward to. Then... a New Member (35M) joins the guild. It started out fine, we helped get him with content and his OC fit in. We all spent time together and group voice chats. One day NM joins VC and we can tell he's a bit shy. So, being welcoming, I ask him about himself and try to make him feel included. I'd like to point out my voice has been complimented on a lot before, but comments have been tame. But as soon as I start talking he freaksout how 'cute' and 'sexy' my voice is. This was kind of odd as this was in front of my BF and our friends. We put it down to NM being awkward, my BF light-heartedly jokes I'm his GF in a sort of "lol I've got competition for my gf's affections" way. I was fine with it, my BF isn't a possessive guy btw. Because of rules of the guild, no one gives too much information about themselves or even sends selfies, they only care if you're over 21 (because online safety, not only for us, but minors.) Weeks go by and we're doing our guild RP and NM seems to really want a relationship from my OC. He's single IRL and seems to give me a lot of attention compared to other female members. (Note: I've never shown a selfie.) NM'd ask stuff like "Am I as sexy as my voice?" And there have been times where my BF has had to talk to NM to get him to stop. One day, NM suddenly got very inappropriate and spoke of what his OC would do sexually to my OC if they were a couple. I stated I don't like ERP and my OC isn't interested, then he said "I bet you're secretly a naughty girl and your OC just needs to be broken into." I felt sick. I firmly reminded him I have a BF and that he needs to stop being gross. I showed my BF and the guild the logs and NM was immediately booted. I decided to remove him as a friend and blocked him. Everything was quiet for a while until recently. I got a message in game from a user whose name was unfamiliar to me. They claimed to be NM's friend and told me how he's going through a rough time, that I made it worse and blamed me for isolating him from everyone and leading him on. From then on multiple strangers have been messaging me saying I ruined NM's life and now I just don't want to play the game anymore and the guilt has been eating away at me. AITA? Did I really ruin his life? Edit: Thank you to everyone for your support, a lot of your comments have really helped and I'm a little saddened to know such behaviours are common in most platforms (I've also learned what an incel is.) Also sorry to those of you who didn't understand my keywords: NM = New Member. D&D = Dungeon's & Dragons. VC = Voice Chat. OC = Original Character. ERP = Erotic Roleplay. MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game. I hope that clears some of them up.
This happened several years ago and to date is the most abrasive interaction I have had with other folks in public regarding my service dog (who is now retired.) EM: Entitled Mom, EK: Entitled kid, SD: Service Dog, Me: self explanatory I was maybe about 21 at the time and was in the beginning stages of really learning to be an adult on my own at the time. I had just moved out of my parents house and I to an apartment with a friend. Before this, I still lived at home with my parents and usually just went to school, work and didn't often go places alone because I'm kind of a homebody. So between school, work and the odd outting with my parents or friends everyone usually around me was really respectful and familiar with my service dog and my general rules about her. I didn't have issues usually And if I did, someone less anxious and more assertive was usually there to help me. This was no longer the case after I moved out. I was out and about running some errands on my own (which I was beginning to enjoy doing!) with my service dog at my side. Along the way, I realized I hadn't eaten in a while and decided to stop at the food court of the mall I was in right then for something quick and tasty. I got my food, found a seat, and began to get my SD focused and prepared to go through our usual process so I could get started on my meal. I'm not secretive or anything personally and usually I'm down to discuss my dog and educate if I have the time or energy with someone who is polite and well meaning. I have a really intense food allergy so that's what she is for. She also knows how to bring me a handfull of objects on command like an epipen, inhaler, or just lay down next to me to give me access to meds carried on her harness. It's really important that she not be disturbed while I have her check things because a missed alert can be life or death for me, not to be dramatic or anything. Breathing tends to be important. So I'm about to go through the process of having my dog do a check for me when I see a child making a beeline for my SD. She is harnessed, clearly and boldly marked and not facing this little girl. That doesn't matter though because the child is clearly too young or excited to read. EK: PUPPY! I placed a hand out instinctively just in time to keep her from touching my dog, who is still set to do her check thankfully. I try to be understanding with kids but I have a few hard and fast rules. I never reward attempts to touch without asking. I will stop and thank polite children tho. Each situation usually gets a conversation from me about how important working dogs are. However, even with polite children I do not stop my dog mid task for my own safety. Me: Oh no, Honey. Please don't touch the puppy. She has a really important job and she is working right now. This is usually a good enough explanation for most children about 2 and up. Not this one though because she immediately starts crying. I am talking full on pouring tears and a red face as she screamed loudly in the busy food court. I looked around for a parent and locked eyes with a round, blonde woman who was apparently staring icy daggers at me. EM: Why are you touching my child?! EK: Puppy! I WANT THE PUPPY. EM marches over to me from her table and demands that I just let her child pet my dog. I could feel the heat on my neck I was so embarrassed at all the staring faces. Me: I'm sorry, I really can't do that. This is my service dog and she's working right now. If I let her get distracted during her task, I can get really sick or even worse. EM: Service dogs are for disabled people! You obviously aren't blind and you dont look sick. Me: Thanks. That means she's doing a good job. EM: Whats wrong with you then? Just let her pet the dog. The child is carrying on incoherently during this exchange and has now thrown herself on the floor. My SD is not engaging her but is fond of children so she is looking at her with concern. I get more irritated because I will have to wait longer to eat now. Me: That's none of your business. Nobody is petting the dog. Can you please leave me alone? Your kid shouldn't be running at large dogs she doesn't know anyway. EM: I bet you're just faking it! I don't think pit bulls can even be service dogs. Me: Any breed can be a service dog, lady. Please go away and take your daughter with you. EM looks like I just slapped her in the face. She could tell I wasn't going to budge. She picked up the small screaming child, walked back to her table and put her in a stroller. She gathered her stuff and left. I breathed a sigh of relief and decided to check my phone for a minute so my SD could forget the ordeal and reset. I figured it was behind me and I could go back to what I was doing. Oh how wrong I was! Just a few minutes later, I could hear the screech of an EM heading back into battle. The child was still crying and this time she was accompanied by a security officer. EM: There! That animal bit my baby! My eyes probably looked like they were going to fall out of my head. I knew people had weird hangups about breeds but this lady had JUST been demanding her kid be allowed to pet my dog. I couldn't believe it! This particular security guard looked like he didn't want to be mediating between adults at all. He asked me if it was true and I of course said it wasn't. I told him that the child had run up to my dog and the mother was mad I wouldn't let my dog be pet. He asked if she was a service dog. I confirmed she was. He asked if she was trained to do a task to mitigate a disability. I confirmed she was. EM: She's lying! That mutt but my daughter and made her cry. EK: Puppy! (The child is visibly reaching for the dog) The security guard is clearly having none of her crap at this point. My SD is calmly sitting next to us during the whole ordeal, watching me. She doesn't exactly look viscious and is actually quite a sissy. At this point a girl (Nice Girl, NG) around my own age chimes in. NG: This lady and her kid were bothering OP. That child was never bitten. You have cameras right? The security guard confirms there are indeed cameras and says we will all need to follow him so he can check the footage due to the severity of the accusation. SG: Either I have to call animal control or the police. Harassing a service dog is a felony and a dog biting a child is a pretty big deal. Either way, someone is in trouble. EM looks panicked and starts to back pedal and says she's willing to drop it and everyone can go their own way. Her precious baby is fine after all. Me: I'm not willing to drop it. You lied about me. Let's go. Three more security guards show up and we all get escorted to the security office. Sure enough the footage shows that the kid never even got within arms reach of my dog and EM was harassing us. They ask me if I want to press charges and I say that I do. Police show up within a few minutes and I happen to know one of the officers because he's my ex boyfriends dad (we split amicably before we graduated high school). He knows me. He knows my dog. He loves my dog and has said she's one of the best trained dogs he's ever met. I usually wouldn't be petty but I excitedly greet him. He smiles and asks if it's ok to pet SD at the moment. I thank him for asking permission and say of course. EM looked like she could just throw something. The other officer takes my statement. In the end, the officers see the footage, EM gets arrested and extra charges thrown on for resisting arrest and assaulting an officer. It was pretty wild. And my first real experience with entitled people on my own. The charge for harassing my SD ended up getting dropped but the other two charges stuck. I didn't care too much about that but hopefully she learned a lesson. I also did eventually get to eat.
Ready to actually start making a lotta bit of money?
Alright autists, I know this is a casino but you don't place a field bet on the craps table without knowing how the game even works. There are rules to the options casino, too, and you better take 15 minutes to learn about them before the doors open back up Monday morning. If not for you, do it for your wife's boyfriend. It's time to be a big boy teenager and do your share of work around the RV. Sure there are plenty of trading strategy posts on WSB, and you probably hurt your little thumbs scrolling to the comments section to rightfully-so call that poster a nerd: and he is. So why is this any better? Because it's actually legit, like, people who know what they are doing took time away from alpha male pounding some loser's wife to give you some scraps of knowledge. Don't mess this up. Watch one, watch them all, but these will teach you why you are losing all your money and maybe even give someone as autist as you the chance to unlock the mythical green mode on Robinhood. There are Bear strategies but my browser automatically blocks them
There is even a Strategy Quick Guide (PDF) - yes I know it's more than 5 pages, but even you autists can see it's one strategy a page and they use big font and pretty pictures. tldr: These are legit resources to help you understand options and stop losing money, start with this one. As it says on the tin this is exactly that: my memories of the years I lived in a haunted house aged 8-18. It's a little long but buckle up if you want to hear an actual account of actually living in one and not the Hollywood version. Me and my parents still talk about this but I'm 30 and engaged now in my own home and my parents moved soon after I moved out. I guess I just wanted to get it out there because it's all true and I've tried to explain it to so many people who just don't believe it, I thought maybe this community would hear me. The lady that sold my parents this house warned us of weird things going on, but my Christian parents ignored it and felt we would be fine. At that time I think they thought it was all bollocks to be honest. It was a fixer upper, but definitly a great house with lots more space than our first. Anyway, as the weeks went by things got a bit weirder. I quickly learnt when playing in the street (this was the 90s), that children in my neighbourhood thought my house was haunted (and to be fair it being an old, tall, victorian house with a rickety over grown gothic pathway, it was creepy to a kid), and there were many horrible stories about things that happened inside. Kids wouldn't come round and play at my house due to this and I earnt a stigma being the new girl that lives in the haunted house at school. The house was 3 stories high with bannisters running the entire way up and out of no where things started dropping from the top of the house to the lower landing through this bannister gap. Proper poltergeist shit. Ornaments, vases, dog toys that were never upstairs. Our dogs wouldn't go up the top of the house by the attic, all they would do is bark and whimper at the landing and I was also, absolutely terrified of the entire top floor. I was an only child and I wouldn't go upstairs when home alone because it frightened me so damn much. All I can describe it as, is as soon as the light wasn't on upstairs, I could feel a presence there with me. An angry, bitter, cold feeling like a shadow behind me getting bigger and bigger. I'd sprint as fast as I could downstairs and strangely even now more than a decade on I still have bad dreams about my legs slowing down on the final stair case like I'm running through water and something is chasing me. So anyway, the weird stuff continued. I started knocking on a wall one evening, playing as a kid and to my delight it would respond to me, knocking back. Responding and copying my pattern. My mum started absolutely freaking out at this when I showed her, running outside to demand who was doing knocking to her kid all night, to find just brick wall and air. No one was on the other side. On Halloween we we all heard a scream from the affic only to brave checking it out to find it totally vacant and fine. By this point, my parents were spooked. Being religious they brought a priest in who informed them the upstairs was very negative spiritually and they should remodel the entirety of it to try and get the spirit out. He told them to gut the attic, bless the area and ask the spirit to leave. Okydokey. So they began to remodel the attic into a bedroom/ bathroom etc. This spirit did not like this. At one point my father claims his leg was pulled through the floor and sure enough his leg went through the floor into the downstairs bathroom ceiling. Later, when we had a guest in a separate part of the house, all of a sudden part of the ceiling fell on his head for absolutely no reason. The builders said it was a complete fluke and didnt make sense. On the last night of converting the attic I had the worst dream of my life which I will never forget. My bedroom was ensuite so it had 2 doors and both were heavy on hinges (like you couldn't open them without pushing down on the handle), just for reference. So this dream. I was watching a man and woman argue. The woman was wearing victorian clothes (I likened them to Oliver the musical characters at the time) and the man was in a gentlemens suit. They were arguing back and forth and I couldn't make out thier words clearly, like I was listening underwater. She suddenly looked at me, straight in the eyes and started screaming and pointing to the floor. Now.. Trigger warning because this was terrifying to see as a kid in a dream and nothing I'd ever seen in any film or TV show at that age. On the floor was a dead baby, face down. I woke up, hyperventilating in my bed, thinking it was all over, when I looked down at my own bedroom floor to see the same dead baby, but it was crying and.. Contorting. The woman slammed open my bathroom door (the one on hinges) and ran across my room and out the other door. Both my doors were litterally swinging which was physically impossible without someone standing doing it and all I could hear was screams and cries. I screamed and woke again to my mum shouting for me to wake up, saying she could hear a racket of slamming doors upstairs but when she checked I was tucked up in bed just tossing and turning. I told her my dream and she told me to come sleep with her. Years later, when I was old enough she admitted to me that they did research on the house after the priest visit and found information that a maid had been pregnant by the house master and forced to kill or abort the baby in the attic. My mum, being spiritual but also Christian said she had tried to make peace with this spirit after learning this. Nuts ay? This is just a sprinkling of the crazy things that happened over the years in that house.. But I bet your wondering if the conversion etc worked? Well, interestingly it did for us, we all were able to sleep very happily in the new guest room and no more poltergeist stuff went on. There was still an eerie energy in the loft conversion but not a threat. It kinda never felt like it was our home but I'm not sure if old houses ever do. I will say the dogs stood firm and hated the upstairs the entire time we lived there. They never accepted it and would bark still. So nothing really weird happened until years later when I was 17 and I got a new boyfriend (who was awful and abusive in the end), but anyway, we were staying in the converted bedroom up there whilst I was home from uni. I never had told him any of the stories of the house, as we were very new to dating. Anyway we went to bed, watched a movie and fell asleep. I was woken to him screaming saying a victorian woman was standing over me watching me sleep and told him very aggressively that he needs to leave! I kinda didn't mind that. She had good judgement on him. So yeah, there it is. I didn't believe in ghosts until I lived with one for 10 years! Feel free to ask questions
Hi! I've been making a list of all the things that helped me/continue to help me through my last break-up. I thought I'd share it incase it helps anyone else. I really do feel for anyone going through something similar - it's the absolute worst. I'm sending you lots of love. And a big hug too. I don't have the rona, I promise. All the love! Kate x
This is your present moment. Right now. Accept it. Be ok with it. Because this is how it’s meant to be. If it’s happening, it’s right. It’s that simple.
Be kind to yourself! This is a big one. You’re going through one of, if not the hardest thing anyone can ever go through. To love someone so intensely; to give your time, heart and energy to someone for however long - and then have that disappear, is brutal. Give yourself a fucking break. (I lost my mum to a sudden heart attack 2 years ago, and I lost my ex-boyfriend 6 months later. I know which one I'd rather do again, let’s just put it that way...)
On the other side of this intense pain, is the most amount of confidence and joy. I promise you that. To feel an extreme low naturally opens up extreme highs. You'll know much more authentic joy and happiness after you've experienced a big loss.
Mindfulness is gonna be your best friend going forward. The sooner you can get to grips with your own thoughts and mind, and watch what the fuck is going on up there, the sooner you’ll emerge from this. When you notice yourself being a dick to yourself, or getting stuck in ‘I’m angry, I’m sad, why did it go like this? Why didn’t I do that?' - whatever it is - stop that shit immediately. Nip it in the bud. The past is done. You cannot do ANYTHING about what’s happened, so stop dwelling on it. There is literally no point and it’s a waste of your time. And the future? It doesn’t exist. When the future “comes”, it’s the present moment. We only ever have a present moment. So sack off anything else because I guarantee you, your pain and confusion is coming from your thoughts about either the past or the future.
It’s rarely the actual event that causes you pain, it’s your thoughts around it. “I’ll never find anyone like that again”, “It was my fault, I’m a fuck up, I ruined it” etc. Break-ups happen all of the time. Life is cyclical. Relationships are good and then they’re bad. This is how life works and this is how we grow. Get out of your head where that annoying inner roommate lives, just until they're nicer to you and give you a break.
Should haves and could haves are pointless. They’re useless. There is no point putting all your energy into what COULD have happened. If it was meant to happen, it would have. So start putting your energy into your present moment. Right now. Because your right now DIRECTLY affects your future. What are you going to do for yourself right now that’s gonna make your future brighter?
If you don’t need them in your daily life - don’t have them there. How are you going to heal in the same place you got sick? It’s as simple as that. Don’t contact them. Don't sleep with them. Don't meet up for a coffee. It will make it 1 thousand times easier for you in the long-run.
Know that your confidence and happiness is going to make you ten times more attractive to that person. Now, that person may not deserve to be in your life whatsoever. And nine times out of ten, relationships end for a solid reason. So I am not here willing you to get back with your ex. But know and rest-assured that clinging, hoping and desperation isn’t going to do anything for you. It will do the total opposite of what you really want. Start focusing on you, and I mean truthfully and genuinely focusing on you - and good will come.
Accept that in the present moment, your relationship for whatever reason - is not viable. In the here and now, it is not a thing. It requires BOTH parties to get down in the trenches to figure it out together. Not just one party. Truly accept that to be able to move happily to the next moment. Can you change their mind? No. Can you control the outcome? No. Can you change what's already happened? No. Then accept and move on. What other choice do you have?
Let go of any ideas about timing; that you should be "over this" in a certain amount of time. When you dedicate your life, time and energy to one person - it takes a LOT of time to undo all that. It won’t be overnight. Give yourself so much space and grace. Don't waste time being annoyed at yourself for still feeling a certain way. Do I still love my ex? Absolutely. But I've accepted that I probably will do forever. He's awesome. It'd never stop me from actually living my life and letting myself falling in love with someone else. But it's the truth and I have to accept it as that. I know happiness doesn't come in the form of my ex-boyfriend, a new boyfriend - or ANYTHING external for that matter. It comes from me and only me. So I'm already winning.
Try new things. If you feel yourself dwelling too much in one area, then make a deal with yourself that every time you’re stuck - you go outside for a walk. Or you ring a certain friend. Or you pick up a book (I highly recommend The Untethered Soul). Or you watch a Ted Talk. Something that’s gonna bring you wisdom, clarity and perspective.
Trust in the process. Every single bit of it. The intense lows and wonderful highs. They’re all there FOR you, and for your growth in life. None of this is here just to piss you off or make your life difficult. It’s here to prod and poke you so that you grow, become more confident and get to a happier stage in life. Trust in that absolutely. You cannot go wrong.
Feel all of it. All the sadness and anger and hurt. Don’t shy away from any emotion. Much like with "normal" grief, any and all emotion is ok. As long as you feel every ounce of it. You don’t want any of it stuck in you and creeping up in future relationships. Deal with it now. But for your own sanity, make sure you learn the difference between healthily processing and needlessly dwelling!
Know that you cannot know what the other person is thinking, feeling or doing. You don’t have that right anymore, and that has to be ok. If you're constantly thinking about what they're up to, you’re creating a movie and a narrative in your head that just doesn’t exist. It’s not reality. But the more you give energy to that, the more you’ll believe it’s true - and the more your body/heart/soul/mind will think it’s true. Your mind believes whatever you tell it, so don’t feed it absolute bullshit. Feed it truth and kindness. Watch what's going on up there!
Take this as a HUGE lesson. Because that’s what it is. Ask yourself the necessary questions. What could you have done better? What did you learn about yourself? How did you handle confrontation? Did you communicate openly? Were you a people pleaser? Are there things you wish you could have said? These are all so important - because if we don’t learn the lessons, then you can guarantee the Universe will give you another relationship like the one you just lost, to lose all over again… to force you to actually learn it. And I know you don’t want that. I don’t want that for you either.
Stop holding on to anger of what-ifs. Notice how quick you are to defend your right to be angry or your right to still feel the same way. Feel what you need to feel, but don’t hold onto it unnecessarily. Be aware of your brain enough to know when you’re holding on just because you don’t know any different. Be upfront and honest with yourself, are you angry because you’re actually angry? Or because you don’t want to face the rejection and the loss? What is holding on going to get you? It’s not gonna make them come back, that's for sure. I'm still learning this one!
I know first-hand how hard/impossible it feels to let go. When you love someone, you love them forever. That shit does not go away overnight. But make sure you’re honest with yourself if no-one else. What is your intuition saying? And don’t mistake fear or sadness or pain or guilt for intuition. They are wildly different, and deep down you will know that. It’s likely that deep DEEP down, you know this is the right thing for you both. Maybe you’ll find each other again in the future, but the future isn’t ours. And the future isn’t now. We have to fully be ok in our present moment first.
It is going to be ok. Really, it is. You are going to feel true happiness and love again. This isn't a maybe or a perhaps. This is an absolute definite, and I'd bet my entire life savings on it. No matter who you are. Everything is cyclical. You may be very low right now, but your high is just around the corner waiting to greet you with open arms. I promise.
You were a fully-functioning and happy human before this person came along, and you'll be all those things after them. Your life doesn't revolve around your ex. If you're reading this, I'm presuming you have a loving family, wonderful friends, somewhere to live, delicious food to eat, some way to make money, hobbies, music you love, films you enjoy, a phone, the internet etc. There's so much to be grateful for beyond relationships. SO MUCH. Gratitude for what you already have is the key to absolutely everything. What are you grateful for right now?
ZOOM OUT! Realise how mental this whole life thing is. Don't take it all so seriously! We're floating on a giant rock in a Universe we know basically fuck all about. It is ABSURD. Let's just have fun and the rest will take care of itself, it always does. We're so wonderfully unique but also so amazingly insignificant. It's nuts! IT'S SO NUTS! Fuck everything! Let's get drunk.
Lastly, rediscover and KNOW your worth. Realise how fucking awesome and exceptional you are. How incredible life is. How much you have to gain from sad experiences like this. There is so much wonder to be found in the shit-show that is loss. Be around people that make you feel amazing about yourself, because I've no doubt you're amazing. We all are. Give other people a chance to experience that too!
Boss won't approve OT so I work EXACTLY 40 hrs/week until I tried to quit
When I was in my 20's, I worked at a tiny coffee/wine bar establishment. It sold coffee in the mornings and had a wine/beer license for the evening crowd. Its selling point was that it had food pairings for all of its drinks, both coffee and alcohol. It was a fairly new business, only a year old. It had a bare bones staff and the owner herself tended bar in the evenings, usually solo because the tips were better and she could keep them all for herself. I was one of two bakechef/line cooks, making all the food to be paired with the drinks. We always worked opposite each other and split the day and night shifts so we each had some evenings free. Owner was a 40-something single lady with no food service background or experience. She very proudly stated that she invented every recipe on the menu, but her inexperience was obvious. For example, her cupcake icing was 50% Crisco, stuff like that. She came from the corporate world and had turned her hobby into a business as a middle finger to her old bosses. She was always complaining: about being single, about money troubles, about how hard the work was, about her life in general, it was just so much negativity. My boyfriend at the time would sometimes come in towards the end of my evening shifts, buy an over-priced beer at the bar, and we'd leave together. I could see the jealousy on her face every damn time. Owner hated paying overtime, and got on my case any week I had any OT, even if it was 15 minutes. I had been in kitchens since I was 15, so by now I was a seasoned chef who could easily do 12 hours without even looking at the clock. This was the first place I had worked at where I had such an inexperienced boss and wasn't expected to do 60+ hrs/week. I finally had enough of her nitpicking and here's where the MC kicks in. I started noting the exact time I clocked in and, on a big piece of masking tape, I would write the exact time 8 hours later that I would clock out . I would put that piece of tape right in front of my station where everyone could see and so would she. If I clocked in at 12:58 pm, you bet your buns I was clocking out at 8:58 pm, evening rush be damned. If someone ordered food after I left, she either had to make it herself or tell them the kitchen was closed, which defeated the purpose of having food pairings in the first place. She was the one who made the schedules, so it's not like I made things more difficult for her on purpose. Her lack of experience led to her being severely understaffed at crucial times and, by that point, I didn't care enough to enlighten her. She wouldn't pay us OT but she also wouldn't hire more people, so stuff just didn't get done. After a few months of this, I was just done working there and quickly found a new job. I told them I could start in two weeks, so I could give notice to my old job, as a professional courtesy. I typed up a generic resignation letter that had my end date two weeks later. I gave it to Owner when she came in near the end of my shift. When I clocked out, she said not to bother coming in the next day, I was fired. I shrugged and left. I decided to take the two weeks as a stay-cation of sorts. At a friend's suggestion, I applied for Unemployment since I was technically fired, and actually got benefits for one week before starting my new job, so it was like a paid vacation, which is unheard of in the food world. Last I heard, the place closed after 10 years because she wasn't making money and she went back to the corporate world. She did get married, so yay for that. I wish her nothing but the best. She wasn't a bad person, just bad at being a boss.
Small reviews of (I think) all incremental games I've ever played on Android
I don't know if this will be useful to anyone. So I write a line or two about every game I play, and decided to find all the incremental in my game journal and post them here. It starts with the latest games I've played and I think goes back to several years back. One thing I've realized is I have such a love-hate-hate relationship with this genre since I think I've hated 90% of the games and 100% of myself after each incremental phase. I usually angrily stop playing them for a while and restart them again, so this is more or less a journal of addiction, I suppose. THE BEST GAMES I'VE PLAYED ARE THESE (no order):
Kittens Game
Antimatter Dimensions
Oil Tycoon
Honorable Mention: Eggs, Inc The rest: more or less hated it Additional comment if you decide to scan through it, I complain a lot, so it is perfectly reasonable and normal to think, "why the fuck are you even playing these games, idiot??". ------ Time Idle RPG This game was confusing. It tells me the game's resources is time, where you get 1 of it every second, but that's not really something as unique as I assumed. It would have been cool if time as resources meant you used it to deal with something related to time. Maybe time travel? Maybe slowing and speeding time? Instead time as resource buys you stuff like a library. And then you buy a camp or something. Honestly, I wasn't really feeling it. 2 Path of Idling The biggest cardinal sin for me when it comes to incremental is when a game has a lot of features and it just completely throws them all at you instantly. The joy of a great incremental is how things slowly open up and each new achievement feels progress. The game is a RPG game and these are the things that opened up for me in the first few hours. Combat which includes normal fighting, dungeon, raid, boss, PVP (locked, but it just needs an ascend, which I haven't done) Skills Hero upgrades which include Passive (strength, defence, stamina, intelligence), Train, and a huge Tree Town which you can buy workers who get you various things like gold, orbs, knowledge, etc. You can upgrade stuff here. Quest that also includes Perks and Skill quests. Gear which 5 equipment slots, plus craft plus trade plus smelt Also gear for your Pet, which is also another tab! Now, here is the thing. Because I have all of this pretty much instantly, I don't really know which ones are helping me go past a well. How is adding 10 points in strength helping me? Should I have added five in strength instead and five in defence? I have already bought 20 or so upgrades in the Tree, but I have no idea if I am made the optimal choice. There is no real excitement with getting new gear. And so on. The dev has added a lot of features, now it's time to rework the game, and have the features take their time. 2 Idle Slayer The game is like a super simple platformer. Your character is running and any enemy it hits, it automatically slays it. There is no HP, and all enemies die in one shot. Your only active play is jumping occasionally to grab coins or hit the flying enemies. Also, you have a run skill that has a cool down. With the coins, we get new weapons that give us more coins. Enemies give us souls which is used for the prestige system that provides us with an interesting skill tree which provides a lot of choices on the path you want to do in terms of upgrades. So far excellent, however, the game has an extremely serious issue of pacing. The game initially progresses so fast that in the first hour or so, you get almost all the weapons aside from the last two, which then grinds down to a snail pace. You can upgrade your past weapons, but they never really get into play again. Reaching high levels of past weapons sometimes gave me upgrades of that weapon of 10,000% but they still did nothing to my overall coin per second. I think the pacing needs to be fully reworked. It would have been nice to get new weapons after certain prestige cycles, so that every new weapon feels like we have passed a significant wall. The best part of an incremental game for me is to face a wall, and when I finally break it, I feel powerful again for a while. This game feels like this though, powerful powerful powerful powerful WALL........break it....WALL. And so on. I'm still playing it as I want to get some of the skills, but I feel like it could have been so much better. 4 Exponential Idle A very back to the foundation kind of incremental. The premise is that you are a student and working on a formula. There is a neat story where as you progress in the game, your character progresses through university. Each upgrade gives you more and more automation until I reached a stage where I would check back once every 2 or 3 days, click a 2nd layer prestige reset, and close it. Meaning the game was something like 5 seconds of game player every 2 days. I just opened it for this review and realized I had reached the end game. The story wraps up and it tells me "You can take a rest. Travel a bit. Go outside!" NO, DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO GAME. 3 Factoid Factoid & Spark should have the same review as they are almost the same game with only small differences. The games are the most basic kind of incremental, where you buy something with resources, until you get the next thing which gives you more of the resources. Both give you upgrades to speed things up, and finally prestige and it's own prestige upgrades. That's it. It's nice little change of pace from all the recent incremental that sometimes do too much, but obviously due to the very simple nature of it, it does eventually feel pointless, specially after you more or less open up everything and the prestige upgrades just keep repeating. 3 Spark Factoid & Spark should have the same review as they are almost the same game with only small differences. The games are the most basic kind of incremental, where you buy something with resources, until you get the next thing which gives you more of the resources. It's nice little change of pace from all the recent incremental that sometimes do too much, but obviously due to the very simple nature of it, it does eventually feel pointless, specially after you more or less open up everything and the prestige upgrades just keep repeating. 3 Antimatter Dimensions Easily top 5 incremental on mobile. Does everything perfectly. You progress nicely, and when new features open it, not only is it rewarding but more importantly, it keeps adding new dimensions (lol) to the game. I'd at the end game as I write this, and I realize that there was no point in the game where it felt stale. Each new prestige layer made the game feel fresh and almost like a new incremental game. 5 Melvor Idle It seems this game was mainly aimed at Runescape players, which is probably why it didn't click for me. It also run extremely slow on my phone which also played a part in me not really getting into. 2 A Girl Adrift The animation is really pretty and is a nice change of pace for incrementals, but I didn't really like the too much active play. Really had to keep going back and forth to different areas to do the fishing which got too repetitive for me. You travel to different areas of the map to catch fish, which you get points and then you upgrade stuff, but I didn't really find any real excitement about the upgrades because I kept having to go back to previous areas to fish similar creatures. 3 Archer: Danger Phone I'm really annoyed how terrible of a game this was. Two things I like, the TV show "Archer" and incremental games, and it's done in the most lazy manner. The game is the worst aspect of idle games where it's just a straight path of clicking the next upgrade with absolutely zero decision making. Every once in a while there is a mini game where Archer gets to shoot others but it's done in the most basic form of early 2000s flash games, where the animation budget is probably 3 dollars. Same static background and both enemies and Archer have just two animation frames. The absolute laziness of it is almost insulting to the player, because it feels like we aren't even worth the effort. There is an Archer story in the game which develops really fast, which is the only positive part, but no voice acting is again another evidence that the creators of the game weren't given any budget for this. 1 Home Quest This game is way too slow. You have to collect materials to build your settlement but everything takes time, so you click for a few seconds, and then you have to leave the game. Which I'm fine with, but the problem isn't the idle part of it, it's how the idle part of it combines with constant checking of the game which annoys me. I like an idle game where you forget to start the game for a day, you come up to a lot of resources, but this is a game which needs you to check back in every 30 minutes or an hour to really get anywhere. I felt that the micromanagement was getting worse as I progressed (without any actual thing to do when I am active in the game) that made me give up. 2 Idle Industry This is probably an interesting game, but I gave up because the one thing I really disliked was the amount of resources and manufacturing that very quickly opens to you. You can buy raw materials, and you can either sell these raw materials or turn them into finished goods and sell them either. And each of these has several upgrade options (increase selling price, increase production, etc). Without even really getting too deep into the game, I have around 20 raw materials and around 30 finished products. A satisfying part of this genre is to have things slow open up for you, which gives me a decent feeling of satisfaction. But the money I got would quickly open up new products, so I would just jump ahead and purchase more expensive ones, and after a while I had a lot of materials and products at zero, and was instead focusing on latter ones. 2 Masters of Madness Somewhat neat atmosphere and visuals, but too much active clicking. Click, upgrade to get more per clicks, get minions to get you some points without clicking, typical clicker, but with the added benefit of almost no idling. I like idling incrementals but clickers is a hard no from me. 1 Soda Dungeon 2 Basically similar to the first one, as far as I could tell. I did "finish" it but maybe I shouldn't have, since it really is the same thing from early on, specially once you get all the heroes and you kind of sort out which characters work best, then it's just the same. But because it was somewhat short and no real wall, it was at least easy to stick to it to the end. 2 Bacterial Takeover Played for a decent amount and was actually more interesting that I thought, given the buttload of ad incentives. You create and upgrade bacteria, attack planets, and eventually go into a blackhole to prestige. Most of the game was good, but the part that killed it for me was the prestige system. Once you prestige, planets get super easy to attack, which becomes a lot of active play. I realized that each prestige was taking me at least 30 minutes to get to where I was, and it was just meaningless clicking. It got to a point where I was putting off prestige because it seemed like it would be a hassle so I stopped. 2 LogRogue Cute graphics. The hero sort of hopping to hit the tiny monsters is cute to look at, but how long can you look at it and do nothing before you realize that it's boring? I suppose this is a game where it's just not for me. I don't like to have my phone open on a game and just watch it like a crazy person and do nothing. My rule is simple for incrementals. While the app is open, be active, if there isn't any choices to make, close the app while resources build up or whatever. I don't like it being open while I do nothing. 3 A Kittens Game Incremental games are so strange. I get in and out of the phases. I loved this for so long and so obsessively that I wanted to only play incremental games. And then, just like that, I was wondering why the fuck I was wasting my time with this. Has happened countless times before. But still probably the best incremental ever. 5 A Dark Room An incremental cult classic of sorts but I don't find it really matches the genre. There is a bit of incremental at the beginning with people huts and stuff but then its just a ascii exploring game, which wasn't interesting to me. 2 Little Healer Saw it mentioned in the Reddit incremental forum in one of the posts and thought it was a healer themed incremental which sounded neat. But it's like being a healer in a raid in World of Warcraft without any if the extras. Just a couple of bars representing your team mates and you healing them while they fight the boss. I didn't even like playing the healer in WoW so no way would I play this game. 1 Clickie Zoo Started playing for a few days until I realized there a beta released with the dev reworking the game completely from scratch and releasing it as "Idle Zoo Tycoon". So, played that instead but this seemed like a game I would enjoy anyway. 4 Idling to Rule the Gods The UI and one drawing if your character is really ugly enough to be distracting to me. The game, seemed interesting and I eventually was into it, but seems like a game that has been constantly being updated, which is not always a good thing, because features are obviously updated regularly to it, making the whole thing a bit bloaty. I guess, this is the problem with this game for me, it's too fat. Also, one main part of the game is that your character creates Shadow Clones up to a maximum limit. Which is fine except the clones can't be made in offline mode. This might not be a big deal in its original web browser game but that doesn't work as well in a mobile format. 2 Realm Grinder This is one of the really popular incremental and it's fanbase seems to love it for it's depth, but to be honest, I don't play these games for the depth, I play it for the simple dopamine rush of doing the same thing over and over again. It relaxes. Although, I didn't even get to the depth part because I dislike games where it rushes in the beginning. I constantly bought buildings, got spells, and got upgrades without even looking at the description. Apparently, later on, we can get complicated race upgades, which seems not what I'm looking for in such a genre. 2 Spaceplan A short (!!) incremental with an actual story (!!!). That's two cool points for it but unfortunately, the game mechanics of increment genre isn't so good. It's a space game with nice visuals and a great ending (cool music set to cool graphics) but the game itself wasn't really that fun. This same exact game would have been better in a different genre (maybe something like "Out There"?) 3 Zombidle Felt like idle games again and this is the kind of examples that kept me away. Too much clicking and seems like advancement will start to get irritating since it relies on IAPs 2 Eggs, Inc While I was playing it, Eggs, Inc was probably my favorite Android game I had ever played. But like most incremental games, there comes a moment when I suddenly stop and think, what am I doing? Because there is something fascinating about Incrementals. Their addictiveness is in a way the whole point. An incremental is less of a game and more an act of electronic addictiveness. What's the point? Eggs, Inc is a very well made and fun incremental but even the best in its genre is still pointless. 4 Castle Clicker Supposedly a mix of incremental and city building but didn't really find out since the clickings were way to much. I know this is supposed to be the genre but I like the incremental part more than the tapping part. This seemed to be a good way to hurt your fingers. 2 Endless Era This RPG clicker game is like other such games but with horrible GUI and animations. Tap tap tap. It's my fault for downloading such games. Why would I ever think this would be fun??? 1 Idle Quote An incremental game with a unique twist. This time we get to make up quotes! The first negative about the game and this irritates me a lot is most of the quotes are fake. A quick search on Google and this proves it. Quotes are generally attributed to Buddha or Ghandi or shit like that and it's usually fake like most quotes on the internet. This kills the major possible advantage of the game because I thought coming up with arbitrary words would at least give me some quotes to learn. Aside from the this, the game isn't fun either because it slows down very quickly meaning you combine words very slowly at a certain stage of the game and then it becomes a boring grind. 2 Monster Miser An incremental game with almost no graphics. We just see character portraits of monsters which we buy and then upgrade until we buy the next monster. Eventually we prestige which gives us multipliers. The only game choice is choosing between two monsters with each new monster with unique benefits. Annoyingly there is a max limit which I wish didn't exist because I wanted to prestige so much that I would be over powerful in upgrading like that "Idle Oil Tycoon". Still, pointless but reasonably fun. 3 Pocket Politics An incremental take on politics sounds fun but it's so generic that it could have been about anything. A Capitalist idle game or a cooking idle game, it wouldn't matter. IAP was also the usual shitty kind. 1 Time Clickers A shooter incremental sounds like a cool twist but it's not a FPS like I imagined it would be. I'm just stuck in a room and I was shooting blocks. Upgrades didn't give me any enjoyment since I was shooting fucking blocks. 1 Tap Tap Fish - Abyssrium I thought this was going to be relaxing incremental but the ridiculous and generic IAPs and all the social integeration spoil it. Too much time is spent in them asking you to buy or share or tweet or post or give them a blowjob. And there is nothing relaxing about that. 2 Cartoon 999 Incremental game about comic book writers, but not the marvel DC kind, it seemed to be the webcomic one and I think it's a Korean developer so all the characters and injokes made no sense to me. The whole thing was just targeted to a very specific audience. 2 Dungeon Manager Incremental games need to be simple but this is beyond simple, it's just upgrade a fighter to level 5, go to next dungeon character, do the same, and just continue without any of the delicious balancing of upgrades like other idle games. 2 Final Fortress Incremental games are already pointless but when it's super heavy on IAP than its also annoying, but when it always has bugs that doesn't register my offline earnings, then it just needs a uninstall in its face. The zombie skin was also crappy. 1 Mana Maker Here is how I know this clicker isn't very good. It doesn't make me hate all clickers and my life and mobile gaming in general for being so addictive and pointless. So fail, sorry. 2 Infinity Dungeon The usual incremental RPG that I should probably never play again. Starts simple enough and then gets more or a chore as you play. 1 Another incremental game which I had promised myself not to play anymore because they are so pointless and repetitive and endless. Well, this wasn't infinite and had a goal at 999 level so I thought it was good but while the humor was cute, the game did become very repetitive. Every 10 levels the slimes changed but after every 100 levels the whole thing restarted and while the monsters got stronger, I seemed to get even stronger. So the game became easier as I progressed and there was no more challenge. By level 800, I gave up. 2 Tap Dungeon RPG Okay, I'm running out of ways to complain about those incremental RPG games that all have similar problems. It starts off reasonably fast and fun but soon it seems like I am in a data entry job. Doing the same thing over and over again with little changes. 1 Dungeon 999 F: Secret of Slime Dungeon Another incremental game which I had promised myself not to play anymore because they are so pointless and repetitive and endless. 1 Tower of Hero You start on the first floor of the tower and keep fighting your way up by summoning your heroes (by clicking) and recruiting other fighters, get upgrades, level up, and then, ugh, here is the typical incremental RPG part, restart, get items, and do it ALL over again. There is something fun about restarting and getting slowly stronger each time but it also feels so pointless after a while. Such a pointless genre now that I have played a billion of such titles, heh. 3 Pageboy Yet another incremental RPG which I have no idea why I downloaded because I'm sick of the genre. I played a pageboy to a knight who does the fighting while I collect the lot. I collect the loot, buy stuff for the knight, and eventually I restart to do the same thing again and get better items but this game I didn't even RESTART! Because fuck it! Fuck it! 2 Idle Warriors The story is cute. Human population is regressing while monster population is on the rise. So the humans start enslaving monsters to mine for them! The brave warriors beat the crap out of monsters, kidnap the bosses, and enslave them. The animation of monsters slaving away while speech balloons above them talk about their wife and children is funny. But the game itself is another RPG incremental which I should start staying away from. These games are like a chore for me nowadays because I'm doing the same crap again and again. The blame is probably on me because it seems like a reasonably solid game. But hey, fuck it, I PERSONALLY didn't enjoy it. 2 Tap! Tap! Faraway! Any game that is remotely like Tap Titan scares me. They are addictive at first and very fast moving but after every restart gets more and more annoying. It soon turns into a time eating activity with the player having to redo the initial levels to get relics to get better items to progress further to restart to get relics to and so on until the player realizes how much time he is putting in the game for a repetitive activity. 2 Auto RPG Now that is a title the game developers didn't spend too much time on. RPG battles are automatic but I can help out by clicking like a mad man. I started with one hero but would get additional members in my party as the story progressed. Party members receive skills as as they level up and while all the skill usage is automatic, it did give me a sense of progression which is extremely important in a RPG and which I think is usually lacking in incremental games. It usually starts feeling useless but in this game at least there are new maps, new members, and an actual end sight! There is an infinity stage once the last boss is defeated but I am glad the infinity stage happens AFTER the end and it's not the game itself. 4 Merchant Hire a hero and send on to battle. The battles is done automatically and takes time, starts with something short like 10 seconds with each battle taking longer. The loot is raw materials which can be used to craft equipment which also takes real life time with better items taking longer. The crafted items can either be sold or equipped to the hero to make him be able to fight stronger monsters. I was worried I would hate the longer crafting and fighting times because I hate games which I have to watch for a task to finish but even though the durations for longer, I had more to do. However, I don't know what would have happened in the end game because I gave up on it. New maps were exactly like the first map just with different heroes but the progression was similar in each level which felt that I was doing the exact same thing all over again but with longer task times. 2 Idle Oil Tycoon This is the best idle game I played. It's graphics aren't just minor, they are none existent. It's just numbers, so basic that my sister thought I was on a stock market app. It's such a simple concept. Invest, get oil, upgrade then like other idlers restart to get a bonus and do the full thing all over again. When I finished the game, I played the unlimited mode which I played until the unlimited mode couldn't handle the numbers anymore. 5 Soda Dungeon This kind-of Idle Dungeon was great. I started with weak ass fighters who would fight on my behalf while I collected the loot. I then got to use the lot to upgrade the sofa bar to recruit more adventurers. Not sure why it was a sofa bar. Maybe they wanted to make it a family game and not have alcohol? Sounds weird but the sofa element in a RPG game sounds weirder. The game only hit a brick for me when, like most other incremental games, there is no real closure. Once I thought I bet the big bad guy, it just goes on, harder but similar enough with no end in sight. Eventually, we have to stop playing right, but it always feels a bit like a let down when I don't feel like I have finished the game. 4 10 Billion Wives Kept Man Life The two games from this company, 10 Billion Wives and Kept Man Life, have similar strengths and weaknesses. I liked the silly premises from both. In 10BM, I had to get married as much as I could, using the loves I collect to marry more expensive wives! In KML, I'm a boyfriend who doesn't work and I have to please my career gf so she would take care of me. Both start reasonably fast and I was willing to grind through difficult parts but the end game is like a brick wall. Passing through it to get all the achievements is pretty much impossible unless one puts in way too many hours. And it's a shame because I really wanted to get all the achievements to see all the tiny little extra stuff. 3 Adventure Capitalist One of the better incremental games, but now that I am out of the short lived incremental fan phase, I realized how dumb the genre is. Tap, tap, tap, upgrade, do this a million times, reset, and do it all over again like a moron. The game does deserve credits for me acting like a moron and playing it for so long but I also cheated and got free cash and then if occupying became even more pointless. 3 The Monolith A combination of an incremental and a civilization building game seemed like an excellent idea and in some ways, it was, specially how we get to upgrade through the ages from cavemen to futuristic. But no offline feature means that the resets aren't enticing. 2 USSR Simulator An incremental game that has a great theme (USSR!) but absolutely horrible to enjoy, even though I did stick to it. After a certain upgrades, the game just turned into me popping in the game, clicking an upgrade and then forgetting about the game for a few days. 2 RPG Clicker They should call these games tappers not clickers. We are not clicking anything on a touchscreen device. Anyway, tap tap tap level up buy weapons tap tap and uninstall. 1 Logging Quest Logging Quest 2 [Review is for the original and its sequel] There is not much of a difference between the game. I actually played them both at the same time because the actual game is offline. You choose your hero, send them to a dungeon, and then come back to the game after a while to see how well they did. I thought an offline RPG like this might be interesting but then, if you don't really play a game, how much fun can it be? 1 Another pointless incremental. I was in an incremental phase and got so many incremental games that I know realize were absolutely pointless. Hit a tree, buy upgrades, get a new hero, and continue hitting a tree. Not much offline it seems which is what I like about incrementals. 1 Galaxy Clicker A space incremental that should have been a lot of fun. You get to upgrade your spaceship and buy new ones and explorer new planets. But first of all, the interface is so ugly that it makes playing the game less enjoyable. And a lot of things I didn't really get no matter how much I would play like the full exploring planets. The spaceships were nice, so it could have been fun. 2 Megatramp A pretty pointless incremental kind of game. You are a tramp and then you can collect money to buy upgrades to make more money, with no strategy needed, nor any effort needs to be made to hurt your brain cells. 1 Inflation RPG It supposed to be some kind of incremental RPG, I think, which has you resetting and getting more powerful and then fighting monsters to get insane levels. It is very unique but I couldn't get into it. 2 Widget RPG Are you fucking with me? This is button bashing rpg in the most extreme manner. You get a widget, so you don't even have to open the game and distract yourself from the button bushing. Just click the button and the game plays behind the scenes and gets you experience, loot, and kills. It's a ridiculous idea that is fun for a few minutes to see what they come up with but there is only so much button bashing you can do. 2 Capitalist Tycoon I downloaded this game because I was in an incremental/idle game phase and really enjoyed AdVenture Capitalist. But this game is nothing like that. On the surface, it seems similar, buy small investments, make money, buy bigger investments, and so on. But with this game, there is no offline mode, and you keep having to wake up managers, AND the goal is to see how much you make in one year. Bah. I prefer the incremental approach which makes you build and build and build, not try to rush it in just a year. 2 Clicking Bad An incremental clicking game that is themed after Breaking Bad. It is a fun idea it's a very simple game with little to do aside from the obvious of upgrading and upgrading. The only twist might be to balance out making lots of money selling drugs and not attracting the law but even that is only a small challenge at the start. Eventually, you will get enough upgrades to bring the law risk so down that it makes no impact on the game play. 2 Zombie Tapper A super basic incremental clicker game with a zombie team. Click click click to eat brains, use brains (?) to buy zombies to do the brain eating for you and then buy upgrades for your zombies, and buy new zombies and it all feels very pointless. 1 Bitcoin Billionaire I started to enjoy incremental games, but it needs to have a good offline mode, because I don’t want to just play a game where I keep tapping. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t play. I played it, and I played a lot of it, because I could reset the game (like most incremental games) and it gives you a small benefit where you could finish the full game a bit faster (it gives you bonus income). So, I kept finishing and resetting, and each time the start to finish would shorten, so I thought I would reach a stage where I could finish each start-to-finish in an instant! It didn’t happen. I got bored first. 3 Tap Titan An addictive tapping game. Just tap on the creatures, level up, get new skills, hire heroes, and then reset and to it all over again to progress further. It’s an incremental game where it depends on resets to progress, but no real offline bonus, so you have to be playing online. Which got boring, so I installed an app that does the tapping for me, which is actually a stupid way to play the game, but this isn’t an attempt to prove to anyone my intelligence. Anyway, thankfully something went wrong and my progress got deleted, WHICH WAS A GOOD THING, because the game was extremely addictive. 4 God Squad I’ve realized most incremental games are stupid. Tap on monsters to kill, collect gold, buy Roman Gods, level them up, fight other monsters, and then get bored. 1
I'm not Muslim. I'm just not. I'm not lying to just you, it's to everyone I know. I've lied to my own grandma, my boyfriend, you. Religion is just not for me. I'm sorry I'm the way that I am. I wish I could just believe just like you do, but I don't. I love you. UPDATE: Thank you so much, Moms. I'm happy the way I am but everyone around me will think that I'm some westernized heretic if I let people know who I really am. I'd have to breakup with my boyfriend. My whole family would disown me and I wouldn't have anyone at all. I am in training for a job that's waiting for me by the end of the year and I can't wait to live independently again. That's how I found out my true self in the first place. But... there's still the issue with my boyfriend, whom I love so much, that I'm willing to fake religion for. Again, thank you for listening, Moms. I love you. UPDATE 2: Hey Moms, I told my boyfriend. It's complicated. He says that he hopes that I would change my mind and he's willing to bet on that chance. I, for one, don't know if I'll ever change. I don't know what I am religion-wise right now. Thank you so much for all of your advice and I hope all of you lead happy lives. I'm also not telling my parents, ever. I think it's easier to live without the conflict. I want them to lead happy lives too and I'm willing to live a lie for that.
My sisters new boyfriend thinks his jokes are funny
Edit- changed sentence from "are special needs" to "have special needs" My sister semi-recently (pre-covid) broke up with her long term boyfriend because he refused to marry her and move her and her two kids in with him. Honestly, dodged a bullet there bud, happy for you. So immediately post-breakup, my sister starts fooling around/dating a guy she works with, and they spend the whole quarantine dating, which was SUPER COOL because my sister lives with my 70 year father who has high blood pressure, no spleen, and smokes like a chimney. Anyway, her dumbass boyfriend has four of his own kids, two have special needs, while one is 16-17 and doesnt appear to have much to do with his father, so altogether they have five kids between them, two neurotypical kids and three special needs kids. They love hanging around at my dads house, which my dad LOVES (not) because there is a lot of yard for them to play in and they can essentially ignore the kids and hang out and smoke weed, you know, normal adult stuff. I dont care too much for my sister's kids, I mean I am related to them so I try and make an effort, but I only go over to see my dad, not them. Well her boyfriend thinks it's so funny to always say, "Kids, your aunt Little_Deaf_One is going to watch you for a while," and just giggles like he made the funniest joke ever. Usually I ignore him, because hes just an idiot anyways who I dont like, but recently he said that when I was in a bad mood and I responded, "You leave these kids with me and you better bet I'm calling CPS for child abandonment," with a look that could melt steel beams. Wiped that stupid smirk right off his face and he hasn't made that joke since. I felt a little bad afterwards because I did say it in front of the kids, which to be fair only two of the five would have understood the gravity of what I said. Either way, no regrets.
TLDR- Who: Aphria Where: Nasdaq When: October 16,2020 What: 5.50C/6.00C Why: They will beat revenue estimates. Alright listen up retards, take Daddy Elon’s balls out of your mouth and spark up a J, we’ve got some cannabis DD. I already know most of you clenched your assholes after reading the word “cannabis”, stop being gigantic pussies, as these calls will print sweet tendies for you. I know you bought ACB 2 years ago and Peter Piper took you to Pipe Town, would it surprise me if you bought into Tilray at $100, allowing Piper Perry to throw on a strap on and take you to Pipe Town for a second time? Absolutely not, because I know how retarded you all are. We are talking about Aphria, the Cannabis sector leader in Canada and how they will beat revenue estimates this Q, if I see any talk of ACB, TLRY or any other shithole company in this space, I swear to god I will not be gentle with your wife’s boyfriend tonight. MY BET: (Proof in comments) This is what it’s all about, putting your money where your mouth is. Shares- $30k worth with an average of 5.83(CAD) Options- 180 Oct 16 2020 5.5C (3.2k) 111 Jan 2022 10C (7.1k) Here is my last post, this will be the third earnings in a row that I’ve bet on, the thesis and results have been the same each quarter. My calls both Q’s were up over 100% before earnings, which I imagine was the case for everyone that bought after I posted, as the price was lower than my entry at the time. I sold half before earnings to get my principal out and held the rest through earnings which resulted in a revenue beat like I expected, but the share price tanked due to end of year write downs. If you sold before earnings like I did, I hope you enjoyed those tendies. If you held through earnings like a good little retard like I also did; get fucked. I want to make it clear that if I am up 100% before earnings I will be selling, and if there is no run up to earnings I will be holding through- what I do fully depends how much I am up going into earnings. Why These Will Print: A Short Story Apologies to most of you who still read at the level of an infant, as this may take you some time to read, good news though- there’s pictures! In case you aren’t familiar with Aphria, they are a Canadian cannabis company that participates in the recreational, medical and wholesale markets. The focus will be on recreational sales as they are the bulk of cannabis sales. Cannabis Revenue Breakdown The biggest indicator that Aphria will once again increase recreational sales comes from Health Canada every month, as they release country wide sales totals for recreational cannabis. Canadian Rec Sales Last Q (Mar-May) had sales of $547M in Canada, a 20% increase in the market which translated to Aphria increasing rec sales 26.7%. This Q is following the same trend, consecutive record breaking sales months in June and July are putting Canadian sales on pace to increase another 20% QoQ- which bodes extremely well for Aphria rec sales. The increase in Canadian sales can largely be attributed to the continued opening of stores in Ontario and consumers moving from the illicit market to the legal market as prices drop and product offerings expand. Aphria is one of the few Canadian companies that is continuing to grow their market share QoQ, you can see that two of their biggest competitors are losing market share while the Canadian market continually grows. Market Share Last 3 Q's Aphria’s continued success can be attributed to their cannabis branding and dedication to the largest product categories. According to their most recent MD&A 58% of sales comes from dried flower, 14% from vapes and 12% from pre rolls; 84% of revenue comes from those 3 product categories. According to the most recent OCS report, 84.6% of the market in Ontario is made up of those 3 product categories. Ontario Sales by Product Categories The data from the OCS report overlaps 2 of the reporting months for this quarter, we can see that Aphria’s brands combine to be the leader in nearly all 3 product categories: Brands include Good Supply, Solei, Riff and Broken Coast. (Redecan only sells products under their Redecan brand) Market Share by Brand- Online & Retail There is more recent sales data available to see that their brands are consistently the top selling brands in the industry. Top Flower Brands Top Vape Brands Top Pre Roll Brands- Aphria has 8 & 10 as well There is an overwhelming amount of data coming in from several credible sources that all indicate the same thing: Aphria is the top player in Canada. I anticipate that they will continue to increase their market share this quarter in the recreational space, which will push their revenue estimates above expectations. I've provided my own earnings estimate for fun, with the calculations below. Good luck to all that buy! Revenue Projection- Analyst Average Estimate is 157M Math: -Distribution down from 99M last Q, took the average of Q3&4 -Med & Wholesale Flat -Rec Assumes 10.7% market share, total Canadian Sales of 667M, August sales of 235M
Nov 3rd, 2020 Fiscal-Conservative, Social Liberal Ballot walk-through for Washoe County
This post acts as an alternative viewpoint to the extreme-left list here.
Preface - My Bias and Background
I'm not a neutral party - I am decidedly pro Trump. This does not extend to the rest of the Republican Party, however. I'm simply opening with my background so everyone has full disclosure of any potential biases I may have. I am a former democrat who got disillusioned after Bernie was abused in the 2016 election primaries and decided to #walkaway. I am a furry, LGBTQ, and have lived in Reno for over a year now, having fled the corruption and mismanagement of California for a much free-er state - pretty much the antithesis of a stereotypical "Trump supporter". As a younger voter, I voted Kerry in 04, Obama in 08 and 12, and in 2016 I voted Trump after Bernie was no longer an option - a moot point in California. I grew up in the Philippines until '91 when Mt. Pinatubo erupted and forced my military family (chair force, woo!) to evacuate Clark AFB. We've lost everything more than once, and I spent years in a trailer park and on the supplemental food programs in elementary school. My parents both worked two jobs - Dad as an Air Force MP (and eventually rose to Lt. Col before retiring and continuing on in civil Service) and security guard, and mother as a maid at the Radisson hotel chain and fast food worker - which allowed us to actually rise out of poverty and own a house, and go to better school programs. Their work ethic is what's taught me the drive and focus that's allowed me to own my own house here in Reno - with my fantastic husband. It hasn't been an easy road, but I very much know what the American dream is about - I've lived it and want nothing more than for others to have the opportunities to do the same. My recommendations, if any, below are colored through that lens of those experiences. Onto the ballot.

Candidates
We shall address all people you can vote for in the below sections.
Biden's got 47 years of experience in politics, and has almost nothing to show for it. His slogan is a cheap Chinese knockoff of "Make America Great Again" - much like Biden himself; he's unoriginal, having plagiarized many speeches and policy goals. What he does have to show for it isn't good. He's directly responsible for the crime bill that's put millions of BIPOC behind bars - rocketing the US to the highest incarceration rates in the world per the Human Rights Watch, with 70-80% of those being African Americans. He proudly called it the Biden Crime Bill in his failed 2008 bid. From 1983 to 2000, prison admissions for African Americans grew 2600% directly due to this bill - and no that's not a typo. He's got a long history of racist behavior that demonstrates this wasn't an "unintended side effect" either - he opposed desegregation. And that's not new news, either - Biden has openly said the N word on the senate floor - twice, though to be fair he was quoting someone else, the double standard is absurd - anyone else that had done so wouldn't have been given a pass. He also is on record directly praising Grand Cyclops Robert Byrd, who led a 150 person chapter of the KKK, calling him a close friend and mentor.. Don't forget, though, he's not racist because he noted poor kids are just as smart as white kids. Biden's racist past is so damning that he had no other option but to choose a minority, "diverse" VP. His choice of Kamala Harris was not based on actual political qualifications, merely she was one of the candidates most "diverse" to fit the bill. What an achievement - becoming choice for VP based solely on your race and gender. Biden's abused his power as Vice President to solicit bribes from both China and Russia through his Son, Hunter Biden - an irrefutable fact that has been admitted to in Ukrainian courts by Burisma, noting that they did not refute the allegations that payments to Hunter were bribes to then-VP Joe Biden. The most the general media has done is not to refute the relationship, but to claim that Hunter's millions in payments from Russian Oligarchs are somehow... unrelated to his Father's position. Totally believable, don't you get paid tens of millions in fields you know nothing about as a 'consultant'? You can review the full senate report and supporting evidence here. Biden, if elected, has pledged to raise taxes. You can see the entire fact check and history associated with this comment here. Now this is a bit dishonest - because the Trump tax cuts raised taxes on the wealthy - substantially - by capping the amount of money they could deduct from their federal taxes to $10,000 for state and local taxes (e.g. property taxes, income taxes). Joe biden's tax bill went up by millions because of the Trump Tax Cuts - as did his wealthy backers. That's why they want to repeal them. And the middle class who can't afford the tax firms and million dollar homes end up footing the bill for it. Biden's energy platform is one that would significantly raise costs and kill jobs, exposing the rest of the country to the same energy policy goals as California - which we can all see is working so well in a state that can't even provide power for all their electric vehicles. The gross mismanagement under the name of "green" initiatives rejects the simple basics and facts of energy consumption, failing to provide sufficient supply and then blaming the people when the demand is exceeded. With no mention of any renewable or green energy sources actually capable of satisfying demand (e.g. Nuclear), the result is simply that people revert to dirtier, more destructive means of fulfilling their needs (e.g. the mass use of diesel and gas generators as the state fails to provide basic needs, or importing energy from other states at a premium). There's a reason CA's electricity is over $.80 per kw/hr. Do you want ours to increase from the ~ $0.08 kw/hr? CA's infrastructure resembles that of a third world country, not a shining beacon and example for the world to see on how to do things right. I don't think I really need to go into the war-mongering of Biden, but I will address one extremely offensive ad I've seen recently around here - the MRAP ad. This is straight up bullshit on so many levels it makes me see red. Biden's involvement in the MRAP boils down to awarding a $45bn contract that was funded from stealing from other military funding (like veteran healthcare) to a manufacturer tied to his campaign, after an anti-Bush blitz in 2007. The original program, valued at $15bn, would have uparmored humvees and aligned with the Military's long term goals for versatile, modular equipment; and had just as effective of results as the MRAP. Now for all of you careful readers, you may recognize the term "MRAP" and realize that this was one of the hallmarks of the militarization of the US police. This is a direct result of the wasted money on the MRAP program Joe Biden championed and created. The vehicles serve no purpose in the Military strategy outside of a true wartime scenario, and thus have been a waste of taxpayer dollars. The Pentagon, in an effort to save face, has repurposed these vehicles to domestic law enforcement to offset the cost. Joe Biden is directly responsible for the militarization of our police force. And he claims he can fix it? Please. Biden's would likely not serve his term if elected, meaning realistically, you're voting for Kamala Harris - a corrupt cop that knowingly withheld exculpatory evidence from thousands of cases (primarily against BIPOC under Biden's bill), and even attempted to block DNA testing for a man on Death Row. Sources Her only qualifications to begin her career was her affair with Willie Brown, through political kickbacks and corruption - a common theme for this ticket. The rest of the platform is rehashed, failed policies from the past decades - lots of empty promises but demonstrated failures to achieve the stated outcomes time and time again. Nobody in their right mind could support this ticket. I guess that's why only the left-minded do. *rimshot*
Blankenship is a former CEO of Massey Energy and was convicted of willfully violating mine safety standards, and was sentenced to one year in Prison. He has no experience in politics and very little relevant history to speak to. He was a former Republican, and the party platform is... convoluted and unclear. Near as I can tell, it's very strictly aligned with concepts of states rights, non-intervention, increased bill of rights protections, and minimal government. I agree with the other post that this is generally a spoiler candidate with no actual plan or goals.
Jorgenson won the Libertarian primary in one of the most competitive ones in a while, securing the nomination after four rounds of voting and becoming the first female presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party. Jorgenson advocates for eliminating civil asset forfeiture and qualified immunity, ending the war on drugs and abolishing the scheduled substance program, has promised to pardon all non-violent drug offenders if elected, and urges the demilitarization of the police. Jorgenson's foreign policy platform is one of non-interventionism, going beyond that to stump for a true free market and eliminate foreign aid, embargos, sanctions, and military intervention, bringing our Military back to the homefront only. She's very much in support of open borders and removing national quotas on immigration. Jorgenson has aggressively criticized government spending and vowed to slash spending and reduce the need for elevated taxes in that manner, vowing to block additional borrowing and spending, but not actually providing any solid strategies to reducing spending. Jorgenson's open-borders policy may appeal to some voters, as will her fiscal conservationist mantra; however while strong on principle I find she lacks meaningful concrete plans.
Trump-Pence - Republican Party
Platform - The Republican party chose not to publish an updated Platform this year and is using the same core principles of 2016.
Official Slogan - "Make America Great Again", "Keep America Great", "Promises Made, Promises Kept"
Donald Trump secured presidency in 2016 and has since been subjected to non-stop negative press and "mistakes" by major media, big tech, and other sources to vilify and demonize his candidacy and presidency. Even the post I'm responding to falsely and incorrectly claims, repeatedly, that Trump's a White Nationalist, making easily disproven claims that he won't denounce white supremacy/nationalists when he has - dozens of times. It's irrefutable at this point, even FactCheck.org begrudgingly has noted the truth - yet the media loves pulling out an easily disproven statement to distract from Biden's racist past by projecting it on Trump. This is a common pattern, as is found by claims being made and widely published, then quietly retracted in a foot note before a defamation suit gains ground. Unlike Biden, however, Trump has in 4 years done more than Biden has done in over 47. Trump is running on his accomplishments, and has demonstrated how effective he can be even despite 4 years of non-stop interference from now-known to be fabricated Russian Collusion allegations. It's worth noting that we now, officially and publicily, know that the Russian Collusion story was not only fake, it was a Hillary Clinton Campaign ploy to distract the public from the contents of her leaked e-mails. Once Trump Won, it was then used as a grounds to attempt to impeach or remove him from office (see the Mueller Investigation). The DNI Declassification this week seals the deal on the entire saga. Trump's accomplishments are many, and he's kept a lot of his campaign promises, resulting in a rapid economic recovery once he took office. Obama's handling of the Bush recession was a disaster, with the ~ 11M jobs created under the Obama-Biden administration being low-wage, part time service jobs, not meaningful manufacturing or full time positions. Trump's policies, on the other paw, have seen record full time employment, with rising wages as businesses were forced to compete for scarce labor on an open market. Without needing a federal minimum wage increase that arbitrarily rammed costs down business throats, we achieved even here in Reno a $15 starting wage for many retail positions, with white and blue collar and other work having even higher salaries. Trump reversed Biden's disastrous crime bill, orchestrating and signing the First Step Act which eliminated the mandatory prison terms that put millions of BIPOC behind bars for non-violent drug offenses. Trump's championing of the NAFTA repeal and USMCA trade agreement, closing loopholes that have screwed over US small businesses in favor of international corporations like Walmart that have enriched other countries at the expense of our middle class. Trump's built the wall, significantly cutting illegal immigration and drug flows into the US. Like it or hate it, he's delivered on that promise - and the cuts into illegal immigration and strict enforcement have directly resulted in rising wages and employment for our inner cities where they competed with Americans for jobs. Immediately after ICE raids, minority Americans found tons of economic opportunity taking over those jobs. And he's not just going after the illegals, but the businesses and owners that hire them. That's not about "race", that's about protecting American interests. Trump, for the first time in decadesdecreased the Debt to GDP ratio by more than 1.2% - in 2017, reducing it from 105% to 104% in his first year. The last time that occurred by that amount was 1969, though both Reagan and W. Bush also decreased the ratio, it was by far less. Trump's tax cuts directly helped the middle class by doubling the standard deduction, increasing child credits, and the unemployment decreases and salary increases wildly outpaced projections. We achieved record employment - and not cheap, unreliable service industry jobs. Real jobs that people can build families and lives on. Trump legalized Hemp production as part of the 2018 Farm bill, tracking to make more efficient, green products the right way - by letting the market select for and produce better products, not arbitrarily enforcing deadlines and penalties to favor donor companies that can't exist on a fair market. Trump's investment into our minority communities has delivered on what Biden and Democrats have promised, without result, for decades. Trump's Platinum plan slates a half trillion dollars for investment into Black and minority communities. There's a reason that, in four short years under Trump, we've seen 3 million new jobs and 500,000 black-owned small businesses. The opportunity for the American Dream was made real - because that's what Trump cares about. Every American having the opportunity to be great. Honestly, I really could keep listing all day but I've spoken enough about Trump. If you're better off now than you were four years ago, vote Trump. Trump's running on his accomplishment. Biden's running on "orange man bad." That's not a platform, that's betting that you've been conditioned to hate everything Trump's done without cause or reason. When ever major corporation and media outlet, and tons of multi-decade established politicians all are telling you what to believe, and you believe it, you're not part of any "resistance" - you're the establishment. And for all the gnashing of teeth... he's been nominated four times for the Nobel Peace prize - for things he actually did. Nomination for work to denuclearize the Korean PeninsulaNomination for the Serbia-Kosovo peace deal.Nomination for the Isreal-UAE peace deal.Nomination for the diplomatic efforts of ending wars and encouraging peace throughout the world. Trump's ending wars. Vote against that, if your conscience allows.
Ackerman regurgitates failed Democrat platform policies, a mere carbon copy of the DNC platform. While she claims to oppose Citizens United, of her reported ~ $345k in funding, the corporate SuperPAC front for the DNC, has contributed $292,720 - nearly 85% of her campaign funding. ActBlue has spent almost 2.5 billion dollars in 2020 to push DNC candidates - more than 22% of the overall spending by all PAC's in the country. So it's quite a stretch to claim she's opposed to Citizens United while collecting funding from the single largest Citizens United-enabled SuperPAC in the country. Calling for an enforced $15 minimum wage rejects the reality of doing business - as California demonstrates, hemorrhaging 400,000+ jobs, businesses fleeing the state, and record unemployment and resulting crime. You can't just declare an arbitrary number and expect it to magically make problems go away because you ignore economic realities. A $15 wage in low skill positions is absolutely possible, and we can see that here in Reno with companies like Best Buy offering it as a starting wage - but that arises out of competition for labor, forcing companies to cut profit margins to remain competitive for tight labor markets; forcing the arbitrary wage doesn't accomplish that - it sets an impossibly high standard for small businesses and allows larger businesses to simply pass the costs onto the consumer. This isn't news and isn't unexpected behavior. It's well documented and observed, and representative of government officials that think they can ignore the laws of physics and economics to impose their will, while never having to experience the consequences themselves. Her separation from reality extends into believing somehow that solar energy is a realistic replacement for current sources (if she was serious on green energy, she'd be talking nuclear); or wanting a second disastrous amnesty program for illegals; which is what caused that "wage gap" for native-born minority Americans - the influx and amnesty of low-skilled migrants directly competes with and crushes wages of Americans in the job market - it's not theory, it's fact.). I found it amusing to review her "Racial Justice" page, which is a combination of things Trump already did, or that directly criticize her party's past achievements. She supports defunding the police, ending the second amendment by proxy and curtailing the rights of Americans, and supports reparations. She's explicitly anti-gun, claiming that firearms are for hunting, and wants to create a federal registration program and ban semiautomatic firearms (per her "I agree with groups like Moms Demand Action that more is still needed.") Notably absent from her platform is the concept of self-responsibility - it's all government give-aways from the taxpayer to buy votes. Extremely socially liberal, to the point of pandering, and no sense of fiscal responsibility at all. Printing money won't solve problems. Hard pass.
Amodei is a pretty unremarkable rank and file Republican. He is generally fiscally conservative, but has indicated support for increased defense spending (not a point in his favor). He's openly pro-life, lower taxes, and has supported legislation for COVID relief. Amodei's got some accomplishments, including the Northern Nevada Land Act and Conservation Economic Development Act, which enjoyed bipartisan support. Amodei does support a compromise on illegal immigration, favoring a plan to naturalize DREAMERS, a position that places him more towards center than his Republican colleagues. He also openly supports tax reductions across the board and is a fiscal hawk. It's worth noting that Amodei has a nuanced approach to nuclear energy and I feel like he would actually support true green initiatives that can actually work, such as investing in nuclear energy and water capture technologies that could work within the framework of the economy, not try (and fail) to dictate to it. Overall, while I disagree with Mark on some things (like pro life), his centrist positions on things like DREAMERs and lack of overt evidence of corruption earn him my support - he seems reasonably socially liberal and fiscally conservative.
Hansen's platform and history are light. The other post accurately attributed that she believes "Let people who are vulnerable to coronavirus stay home". This candidate is rather extreme in some of their views, though "Lunatic" may be going a little far for my tastes. Hansen is anti-illegal immigration, pro second amendment, and aligns closely with the "tea party" type republicans. Too far right for my taste, and overall does not earn my vote. She's essentially a spoiler candidate to try to take the far-right vote away from a moderate like Amodei.
State Assembly District 31
Note that you can find information on the other State Assembly Districts and State Senate District at the Washoe County candidate index.
Skip, like Ackerman, regurgitates the Democrat platform talking points, but has no meaningful action or commitments to show for it. His legislative history is, well, pathetic. He literally hasn't done anything of note - just sponsoring bills to "Express appreciation". Really? His voting record isn't really noteworthy - the big negative being his support for tax increases on property and businesses - he's voted in favor of three major tax hikes that will severely harm job creation in the state. He did indicate that he isn't going to blindly support them on the second round of revisions, noting
“Depending on which version of the three come forward, I’m hoping there’s some consensus that develops after that,” he said. “If there is, then I think all parties are going to be supporting it. But right now that’s in a state of flux.”
He has indicated he does not support defunding the police. It is worth noting that he surprisingly broke with party lines on the 2nd amendment, voting against restrictions, which earns him a solid "left leaning centrist" position in my book. I have no reason to vote for him, and only light reason to vote against him based on his tax platform - overall, he seems like a fair candidate and I don't fault anyone that would support him. I might, myself. We'll see.
Dickman seems like a pretty rank and file Republican, regurgitating much of their platform on her issues page. Dickman's legislative prowess is much more significant, however, as can be seen on the bills she's sponsored (oddly enough broken on billtrack50). Her voting record and positions are pretty clear, pushing education reforms, tax reductions and blocking tax increases, however she does want more "free market" healthcare that I see as a negative. Her 2nd amendment positions and efforts are significant, as is her opposition to sanctuary cities and support for law enforcement. Overall, I deem her to be solidly right-wing, and if the election were held today, barely, barely earning my support based on her tax platform. We'll see.
Marie Baker is a newcomer to the political scene and does not appear to have any clear positions or record to refer to. Watching the statements, her positions appear to be typical Democrat/Socialist leanings. Quick notes on her "why should voters vote for you" statements:
Anti-special interest
Anti-development in flood plains
How she will address affordable housing and development concerns
I will note that how she presents herself and her positions is very uncertain and lacking confidence, and unfortunately I don't believe she would be able to hold her own in the political arena.
Vaughn is running on his record as a county commissioner, and is his final term attempt - he will not be eligible to run again if successful. In particular, he has noted issues regarding homelessness and touting his success on rehabilitation and homeless work programs. He's also taken a lot of steps and been internationally recognized for his work regarding water conservationism and quality. Overall, he presents as a much more experienced politician and his record doesn't have anything disqualifying to my view. I feel like he would better serve our community with that experience, hence my support for him.
Judicial Selections
Supreme Court Seat D
This is a hotly contested seat light on details. The RGJ did an article on the topic.
Ozzie seems well-intentioned, however he is openly and vehemently anti-2A per his own website, and is very much at risk of being an Activist Judge. He's a democratic politician - not a judge, and seeks to abuse the judiciary to further a political agenda. Pushing to reduce the rule of law is not a position a judge should take, and that's what his position with Cash Bail is. The diversity quota behavior only serves to further highlight differences instead of recognizing that all Americans should be and are equal in the eyes of the law. By pushing anything short of that, he merely preserves a dying legacy of racism. Hard pass on activist judges - they cannot be impartial.
Herndon is by no means a clean comparison, however he does have significantly more experience as a prosecutor and has significant community involvement. His rulings and history appear to be largely neutral and he received the highest performance score of any district court judge in the Review Journal's 2019 Judging the Judges survey, with an 85% retention rating in said survey and earning their endorsement. I can't find any disqualifying remarks or positions on him, which is what I would expect of a judge expected to maintain neutrality, hence he gets my vote.
Bonnie's history is pretty lackluster, and she's responded to Ballotpedia's candidate Connection survey. She has pushed for adding additional three judge panels as well as citing that she'd like more opinions out of the court.
Bush's history is likewise lackluster, and also responded to the survey. She makes a point about needing someone with experience representing clients in the family and criminal divisions that I find compelling and thus support her over Bulla.
Sattler published an opinion article at the RGJ making the case for his re-election. I don't know what it is, but it rubs me significantly the wrong way and comes off as sleezy. I really can't justify any rational explanation for it, but I don't what I've seen of his column and website.
Not really much on her one way or another, which is what I like to see in a Judge. Between her and Sattler, I'll go with her.
District Court Dept 11
This race has comments from both candidates via the RGJ.
Dollinger, Paige
Official Website - Note, page appears to have expired with her web host and I reviewed the google cache of it.
Not really any information to be found outside of the Gazette statements. Her embracing of technology is encouraging.
Shannon, Greg
Official Website - None found.
Given the lack of information on the candidates, I based my decision on their statements to the Gazette. I don't find anything disqualifying or negative about Paige, I just find Greg's observations a bit more compelling, particularly his comment noting representation for fathers within the family court.
Nothing of note compelling for or against the candidate.
Robb, Bridget
Official Website - None found.
While researching, I did find that Bridget has been involved in addressing corruption with other judges, a serious point in her favor. Otherwise, I don't see much on her. Between the two, Bridget has more points in her favor and earns my support - I'll always value integrity.
Questions
Honestly, not going to be much in terms of explanation on these.
I find the arguments in favor more compelling than the arguments opposing it, as the regent's arguments in opposition seem more self-preservationist than anything. I really am not strongly committed on this item - it's a tentative yes vote from me.
As a LGTBQ individual, I really gotta say... this question's moot. It's a virtue signal - the US Supreme Court constitutional rulings mooted this. A yes vote will clean up the constitution and eliminate that bigoted stain from Nevada's legislative books, though, so get 'er done Reno. There's not even any documented opposition to it (as is only right.) Hard yes.
More often reviews of our criminal justice system and pardons, and allowing the committee to do so without having to convince the Governor? I really don't see any downsides here. Hard yes.
This is a move to enshrine the voting rights passed in 2002 as an amendment. I see no fuckery afoot and this is a solid addition to our state constitution. Hard yes.
Hoo boy. This is gonna be the shitshow of a question. Besides being a virtue signal and ignoring that we're already tracking to, without such concrete demands, have 25% renewable sources, there's tons of evidence of what such policies will result in. We've seen it in CA - $.80 per kw/hr electricity, rolling blackouts, and other failings because there's simply no non-nuclear renewable source that can fill the consumer demand. Putting this demand into our constitution is absurd, self-destructive virtue signalling that ignores the harsh realities of living in a desert. We don't need a codified concrete mandate that will fuck over market forces and encouragement. It's impossible to create enough "green" energy in 10 years to provide 50% of our power grid's requirements from it, so we'd have to shut down other sources or outsource the needs, raising costs and killing business investments here. We've got multiple data centers coming to Nevada - bringing high tech, skilled, high paying jobs with them, and such a bill would torpedo those plans fast in favor of states with less absurd requirements like Idaho and Texas. Hard. Fucking. No. If you have any question of what the results of such a policy would be, just look at CA - they can't even keep their lights on. This question is just a poison pill from California and California transplants to make Nevada a blackout-ridden shithole. If we want renewable energy, we should be pushing for nuclear reactors to satisfy this need, not making impossible mandates to virtue signal. Thank you for coming to my TED talk. Given the general liberal echo chamber that is reddit, I'm grateful to the mods for not caving to mob mentality and allowing alternative points of view. I hope people have found this list useful.

My girlfriend(23F) is mad at me(24M) after I asked her friend(early 20s M) to stop touching her inappropriate
My girlfriend, Julie has a friend, we’ll call Philip, who is a gay man. Philip is incredibly handsy with Julie and it makes me very uncomfortable. Whenever they see each other, they hug and he grabs a big handful of her ass. Like he’s trying to palm a basketball and it fucking pisses me off. He also likes to grab both of her boobs, and even snuck a hand up her shirt in front of me. The by far weirdest thing he’ll do is what they both call a “camel slap”. As you can guess, if Julie has a visible camel toe, Philip will slap her on the pussy. He’s only done this once in front of me and when he did it I glared at him and they both laughed and Phil said, “Don’t be such a baby, it’s you know it’s yours. I sure as hell don’t want it. Julie doesn’t seem to mind it. She says he’s just joking, it doesn’t matter he’s gay, he doesn’t even like women, etc. A while ago, I directly told her that this happening all the time makes me very uncomfortable. She told me that it’s just a joke that Philip likes to do, and that I shouldn’t get so freaked out considering the fact that he doesn’t like women. Him not liking women didn’t mean a thing to me because I know if I had a lesbian friend, and she grabbed my dick in front of Julie, she’d loose her fucking mind. Last week I had enough of this, while hanging out with her and a few of her friends, including Philip and his boyfriend(who also has no problem with this), I pulled philip aside and had a man to man with him. I told him I didn’t like it when he touched her, and he said that Julie didn’t seem to mind, and that it’s a joke. He also said that he’d bet I’d have no problem if one of her girlfriends did it. Which I’ll admit has done before while drunk, and I told her that even though I enjoyed the show, I’d prefer if she check in with me if she was going to do that again. AND SHE AGREED TO THAT. I was dumbfounded and he walked out into the public living room with everyone else. He sat down next to her and didn’t touch her. I thought he was going to listen, until he grabbed onto Julie’s thigh and said, “Be careful we might make OP jealous. He told me he wanted us to stop.” Julie was pissed she pulled me into our her bedroom and went off on me, and said I was embarrassing her in front of her friends. I told her that the touching pissed me off and I wanted it to stop. We argued there for 15 minutes, and I guess we got loud because her friends came to our bedroom and told us they wanted to leave for the night. Me and Julies been cold to me since. What should I do? Am I in the right?
Why you, as an INTJ, can't get a girlfriend/boyfriend
-Lack of interest, maybe you are too much into your hobbies that have not even searched with "enough enthusiasm" -Lack of sociability, you are not usually in contact with other people. That means not meeting friends of friends, no parties. Too shy for "traditional flirting methods" -Coldness. You don't usually get excited about things, you are ice-cold, not touchy and not very expressive. -High expectations and need for perfection. An INTJ does not conform with whatever and even less with something as important as a partner. This makes it difficult since no one is perfect and it seems that nobody is enough -Low self-esteem and insecurity, you immediately think that they will not love you. -You are negative and don't usually think well of people or think that things are going to turn out well. Just wanted to share this theory I came up with thinking why I can't get a boyfriend myself. Probably yall can relate and I bet I've guessed a couple of points. Hope we can get some ideas to improve a bit at least. Thanks for listening to my Ted talk
upvote if you are gay. downvote if you are gay. It's a simple play that might be a bit boomerish or it might just be something solid to put in your portfolio for a few weeks to help pay for your new dads new wife's new boyfriends's dick reduction surgery. AAPL earnings 10/29. Expectations are high so this just bets on AAPL staying essentially where it is now and the return is 100%. Seems very reasonable. Buy the AAPL 11/6 $105 call for $13 Sell the AAPL 11/6 $115 call for $7 so that's $5 for a spread that'll be worth $10 if the stock maintains $115. If it loses money in the next week or two and you wanna exit for a loss, you can. If the stock rockets and you make 50% profit in the next week, you can take the money and run. If earning disappoint, you've at least got a week to exit somewhat gracefully. A moderate loss instead of a total loss. I have 10, so that's $5k which with some luck will become $10k. I know that's not 'how would i turn $8 into $40million?' but trussssss me daddy, doubling up will make you rich. Just think: 5k becomes 10k becomes 20k becomes 40k becomes 80k becomes 160k. that's 5 trades to turn 5 grand into 180 grand. i'll post my positions if people care. I assume you dont.
MIL emailed SO this week with a picture of when he was maybe 20 or so and is with his little brother from MIL's second marriage with SFIL. For one, that's an attempt to get to SO and make him visit for Christmas since she knows he has a soft spot for said little brother. Second, MIL claimed 'she was just going through some old photos' and how much SO looks like Tom Cruise in that one. (Hint, he does NOT. My man is gorgeous but he does not resemble Tom Cruise and that's probably a good thing, lol). Of course she has said that many times before, even to me, how she always felt he looked like Tom Cruise. And that came along with the "Look at THAY Adonis!" exclamation when we went through an old family video a while back when I first met her and SO was standing by a lake, water dripping off of him, dressed only in swim trunks. Now that I look back I don't even find her constant Tom Cruise comments normal anymore. If my father kept telling my boyfriend (and likely others too since MIL is a gossiper) I look like Nicole Kidman and when I am in a bikini he'd exclaim "Look at THAT Bond Girl/Helena" (any sexualized terminology) I would throw up and tell my father to stop. I think I resisted the idea and suggestions others made on here for a while. But combined with MIL thinks "SO touches me too much" (he's 40, I am mid 30's...) I am now convinced the woman is at least to some degree inappropriately physically attracted to her own son. Disgusting. Now the greater question, how do I handle it? Of course I am no contact and stay out of it. SO will address the only normal question in that email (she always asks lots of questions just to enhance her chances of a reply) which was about where the photo was taken. SO will ignore the Tom Cruise one. What strikes me too is she makes sure to fire on all cylinders to keep him engaged with her. She hasn't called since he confronted her 3 or so weeks ago and then she hung up on him since mommie dearest is not to be criticized or confronted. But otherwise she's texting regularly both in one-on-one and group text messages (he ignores most of it and only engaged in small talk topics we both agreed on were ok for us), then Facebook messenger, then email. I bet if he had any other channel she'd be all over that too. So yeah. I think to go back to my point of coming here today...It's really not ok to keep telling everyone, including the girlfriend, you think your son looks like a sex symbol actor. Had she not made other comments like the Adonis one or only mentioned the Tom Cruise one once...It may not have registered on my end. But now...it does. I guess the approach is to keep greyrocking. SO will ignore the actor comment and only say where he thinks it was taken. A one-liner and get it over with. Of course after waiting two days.... Because when he doesn't reply right away she either asks if she got his text/email, etc. or gets dramatic and begs him to please reply because 'her world is falling apart around her.' Yepp. A live narcissist in action.
