Intro I got into Sports betting months after I turned 18. I was introduced to it by my idol twitch streamer who got SPONSORED by Betway(juiced af btw). I got to into it, started making models, reading articles on e-sports teams, watching YOUTUBE videos and seeing other peoples predictions. This was a fun side hobby and made watching the games that much more fun. $5 here, $10 there, $20 on the LOCK OF THE YEAR etc. Mindset/ Problem gambing 21 and finally into the workforce. I can't lie, I hated my job (and life really) I accepted very early on that I was never going to be rich. I was born poor and most likely die poor too. On top of that I never had luck with the ladies and with my workplace being 90% male; mix that with a limited social life I was going to die single or have to pay for it. I'm not sure how I got to that point but I genuinely believe this up until a couple of months ago(23). I didn't think life was worth it unless u had money and being middle class wasn't what I was talking about. I'm talking about those who weren't tied down to any real obligations. Those who could do and or go wherever they wanted. Those who were their own boss, those who had a life I could only dream about (the streamers, content creators, youtubers of the world). I knew very early no matter how much I saved I'd always be poor. Seeing kids driving Lambos, traveling to exotic places; working and living life on their terms, being able to pick up and do whatever they want. This was never going to be my reality. I was destined to the rat race, "another cog in the wheel" like the majority. I wasn't gifted, I had no real talents, I'm not amazingly intelligent, at best I was extremely average (and below average socially). Sure, I could save up and have money but honestly, by then I'd be in my late 30s, early 40s, fuck maybe 50s! and life would've already passed me by. By then I'd be old with a lot of responsibilities or more likely single and miserable. I just didn't see life being worth it as a poomiddle-class man. Life only really seemed worth living if you were in the top 10%. Sports betting seemed like my "only way out". It was the only clear path I could see in making a lot of money in the next couple of years and if I was good enough I could do it, a lot of people have. The reality is I'd constantly break my "system" because at times I'd get desperate. I'd get home from work sometimes with the mindset. "FUCK I hate my life, I don't want to go into work tomorrow. Please just give me a way out. I'm wasting my life grinding this shit while people are traveling and vlogging their amazing lives. Why God! I want that so bad." I'd want to chase my losses or chase potential winnings. I wanted to make that money now, not some 7% cuck shit in a year. I'd straight up YOLO cause it felt good or felt there's no chance this team would lose. I literally did everything, every betting method possible I've tried it and have seen so many "lock of the century, there's no chance X loses" lose. Totals On Pinnacle I'm officially down CAD$37,384.39 over 22 months($22,000 over last 12 months). An estimated ~$10,000 combined on other sportsbooks prior(Betway, Bet365 and "scam bookmaker 1xbet"). So if I had to guess I'm down $45,000-$50,000 over 5 year: 18YO - 23. I mean I literally went 5 years without buying myself anything and I don't feel sad about it. Relationships and experiences are really what matters and give me meaning and is the reason I don't see a reason to bet any more. Final Thoughts So, if you're reading me and judging me! go for it! I deserve to be judged and shamed, I was an addict. If there's anyone who can relate or anyone who's struggling with a gambling addiction. I'm not going to tell you to stop, just to reevaluate the reasons for why you're playing. If it's to escape your reality go and seek different perspectives on life. One where materialism and possessions aren't at the key of your happiness. Rereading this, It's actually insane and I can't believe I let myself do that. Holy fuck... I think EA should Upgrade the servers for Respawn for the Longevity of this game. If the Rumor is true for cross platform, upgrading to a 30Hz tick rate server from a 20Hz server allows for better player experiences across the board.
I'm fairly new to "tickrate" and I'm no genius at computer tech, but EA has the money to back Respawn to a massive server update and into building more servers in Australia, Germany, in some parts of Asia and in Brazil. These are some of the places I see people saying that servers are nonexistent or Bad. I figure if EA is investing in the potential in Respawn, the should invest in upgrading the servers especially if cross platform is coming in the near future. Shedding a few mill as an investment would pay off big in the Long run and reach more players therfore more profit. Seeing how Great Respawn have been at devoloping games and even the New Star Wars. Would be a safe bet to invest into the company more, seeing that they can make profit and extending the Longevity of Apex like Csgo. I'm pretty sure they have the resources to do as Sony is building more servers for the upcoming Ps5 and expanding their Offices and influence in different countries. I think this has to be done for Apex's 10 year plan. Edit: TL;DR: EA should Upgrade Respawn servers to a 30Hz tick rate server if cross platform is true. Hey so i wanna switch to a new mouse. So i really like FK1 shape and im looking for something similar to this, i use fingertip/claw on FK1 and im looking for something shorter, could be more bulky. My thoughts on some: XM1 - Propably my top1 bet at the moment Hati - really good dimensions but sadly its not available in my local shop Model O - Top 2 bet at the moment since i really liked fk1 shape but i wanna try something shorter like XM1 GPW - sadly its too expensive for me atm S2 - I really like zowie but scroll wheel is terrible, i know many love this shape. MM710 - cool shape but sadly after using O- i dont wanna go that low since it was giving me hand cramps So my question is: Which other mice should i consider? Hmu with some other proposition I mainly play CSGO.
Since I was 15 I have been spending unnecessary amounts of money on virtual items on a game called CSGO, these items held real-world value which could be traded between users. Due to items being worth from anywhere to $10-$5000 this opened a market of betting and gambling. I managed to spend around $2000 in about a year 1/2. My parents found out and went crazy, they thought I was just a reckless kid but little did they know what was to come... After promising I would never do this again, I one day decided to just spend $10 to see if I could get lucky, I spent 12 hours playing blackjack and went from $10 to $1200, this was surely a dream, nearly back positive from the $2000 I was down the previous year. Well the next 4 days I played 18 hours per day non-stop, it was a Christmas holiday and the only thing I did was sit in my room at a computer. After grinding away for a total of 5 days I had reached my peak of $5200, this money to me was unheard of, this is the most I had ever had and my imagination couldn't even dream about what I was going to buy. However, I came home one day to give it one last go before I cash out. I end up losing all $5200 in just 1 hour. My heart collapsed. I had it all, enough money to earn my parents forgiveness back, no longer would I have been hurting over the $2000 loss instead I would have been contempt and happy. Again parents found out, they nearly disowned me... they blamed it on my obsession with video games, they were now banned. Now fast forward to December 25th 2018, Christmas Day. As I was now 18 I decided to open up a Poker888 account as I had been playing virtual fake money poker for a long time and thought I could give it a crack, I put on $20, lost it to a bad beat so I put another $20 on to win it back, this repeated 5 time until I was down $100. Then by the end of the night, I was down $500, everything that was in my spending account from my part-time job. I knew I had lt let down my family but my brain didn't think, I panicked and knew if they found out I would be done for, so I dipped into my savings, I took out $500 to give it one last go, I played a game called Dream Catcher, a large wheel with different placements representing an x Value, if you placed a bet on 3x and it landed on that segment then you would be rewarded, I managed to make up to $6000, my hands were shaking and it was like a Christmas miracle, I nearly cried I was that worried about losing. So, I was in the clear, safe from getting into trouble and enough money to buy whatever I desired. Then I decided well let's just do one last $500 since we are up so much profit, I lost. Then I lost again, and again... and again. I was back at 0, My face went red, my heart started to beat faster, the embarrassment and shame kicked in, what had I done. I went to bed and practically cried myself to sleep, reading gambling addiction stories wondering if I should come clean to my parents or bet the other $4000 in my savings to make up for the losses. I couldn't handle the pressure and was even contemplating running away/suicide. I took the brave decision to try and save myself while I still could, I walked up to my mum and told her everything, how I have been feeling depressed for the past 3 years, how I regret not telling my dad things before he passed away when I was 16, and that I was having suicidal thoughts, and then I told her about the gambling. She was mad, but she knew I needed help this time, she took me to our local doctor and she had a talk to me about my depression and how I feel when I'm gambling, I told her 'It just fades away, I feel so good when I place the bet watching the wheel spin in anticipation, 100% concentrated, when I'm not doing it, it's the only thing I think about.' She knew there was something wrong and that I was a gambling addict. She gave me advice and articles to read, I have my first phone introduction on the 31st of January and hopefully, after that, I will be receiving counselling regularly to help me get rid of this part of my life and to become a better me. Good luck to you all out there, Hopefully stopping now at such an early age will get it out my system or at least help prevent me from ruining my life and the relations in it.
Yeah.. that's right... I said it. - Non standard maps at this point honestly feel like a "he who shall not be named" topic that has been swept under the rug but honestly I've been dying to bring it back up ever since Psyonix made the decision to standardise maps, particularly within Esports. - The first point of argument may be "well the community rejected non standard maps" and I agree, that is true. But why do you think? It's story time. - The casual players were never going to embrace non standard maps unless pros did themselves. At the time where the decision had still not been made, Psyonix could have given communication, a message to the players like "we're going to try aiming to reach a point where there are map picks bans and a point where there won't be a series without a single game on a non-standard map" etc. I understand that's a very big call to make, but suddenly professionals would have to think about practising on them, and sure it would have been a change and any number of players could have been annoyed I'm sure, but when it's for the benefit the future of their Esport it's understandable and not like somebody would just walk away. However there was no message like this and teams simply listed their maps from favourite to least favourite, and I'd only guess that was because Psyonix themselves hadn't really decided and were waiting in a state of limbo until the community decided for them. It's here where I'd like to sourly point out that the masses will tend to be opposed to change, and when the players they look up to have no reason to endorse the non standard maps, and it is so easy to blame said map for your own loss, then it's no surprise that the community lent more and more away from them. - Of course this wasn't the only reason why, but I feel like it is the dominant factor. I certainly don't think the way that Psyonix introduced non standard maps was ideal and it seems like Rocket Labs is now Dead Space 4. An idea that could have been so good is left on the side, none of the "regularly releasing new experimental maps" to be seen. Nobody would care if they are broken, we'd just want to play any wacky map ideas you have. It would only take a little incentive to play, the feeling that feedback is actually being received with something like a simple map rating system or hell even add an increased drop rate. Anything to let us see your creativity as a developer through something other than some more exotic wheels. - I'd like to add here that non standard maps could be a part of the Esport scene and still remain out of ranked and unranked playlists, able to simply be "turned off". But I bet you any money, if the casual playerbase saw professional players playing and practising on these different, varied maps, then they'd want a piece of it themselves. Any money. - Maybe you're thinking "ooook... but why are you pushing for the non standard maps in Esports so much? Why is it needed?". Well, I don't want to be negative and sure I might be the only one although I highly doubt it, but unless there is a lot on the line I find Rocket League boring to watch. At the top level of play, a sad majority of goals are boiling down to "which team will make a mistake first?". Sure there is the occasional really impressive and entertaining play or goal, but that doesn't detract from the fact that games are simply too similar. - All other major successful Esports keep you glued to a series because there is variety within it. Dota 2 has hero picks and bans, so the dynamic of each game is completely different with your favourite player having to use X hero an adapt so that they can play their role within the team as well as try to win their lane against the other team's Y hero etc. Sadly this isn't hugely possible with Rocket League cars, as I for one can say at least for myself that if we could ban cars and I was forced to play Scarab then I wouldn't be too happy. But hey Midseason Mayhem potential? (Wait that doesn't exist any more sorry, too much variety, right) Then there is CSGO, which has the much more achievable map bans, teams that specialise in particular maps and of course the maps themselves that are completely different, but that's where the difference arises with RL. Right now, map changes are merely aesthetic and it's like HOLY COW we're playing on DFH stormy this time, super different from DFH day last game... But tell me it isn't exciting to think about? Team X bans Team Y's favourite map but now Team Y picks this map which Team X has never won an RLCS game on. It opens up so many possibilities from an analytics side and would give the talent so much more to talk about. Watching a team try and make the most of their map advantage in only 5 minutes would be exciting as play would likely be more aggressive, and really help more with storylines especially if there are upsets. - Now there is the argument that non standard maps don't make much of a difference, and looking at the current non standard maps in existence I can agree to an extent, looking for example at what used to be Wasteland, it isn't that different to the point where top players can't simply adapt. That being said, currently no team has yet tried really practising a particular map and there hasn't been any tournament to showcase what that practise could do for them. - Now here's the best bit, what could we have for non standard maps? There are so many ideas. So much unlocked potential. A backboard that leans back or backboard that leans forward, creating different bounces. A map with a higher ceiling? A map with a lower ceiling? Also random plug can we have a hoops map fitting for 3v3 thanks. Maps with slanted side walls? Practically any shaped prism for the pitch would work to create different bounces that only practise would make a player fully used to. 100 boosts in slightly different locations (credit: DMRawlings) forcing different rotation and messing with muscle memory. A pitch that is simply longer (credit: Kuxir) to punish aggression and make conservation of possession even more important moving up the field and I'm sure other people have so many ideas that I haven't even thought of or even any combination of the above. Hey return of Neo Tokyo anyone...? No...? okay. Octagon is sure interesting although I think the ball wall is slightly too narrow but of course that leads back to Rocket Labs where maps could be trialled and improved upon. It could have been so good, but more importantly it still can be. - To conclude, I personally feel like it is reaching a point where the game itself as an Esport is becoming less entertaining to watch. The majority of goals are off mistakes and individual games are not different enough from each other, it is simply too easy to just check the results and the highlights. The mechanical skill ceiling exists and we shouldn't ever think that it will continue to rise forever. We need a new way to add variety and make players make mistakes, but in a good way that rewards the other team for practising. Map variety coming to Rocket League Esports is the only way I see this happening and ensuring that it lasts. We are going to need map variety eventually, why not sooner rather than later? This game is so beautiful and I love it dearly but you can have too much of a good thing. - A box of Celebrations wouldn't be great if there are only Bountys in it. Unless you really like Bountys and only Bountys. But then you're weird. - tl;dr bring back Utopia Retro and Galleon Kappa - But seriously if you've read all this, thanks.
I'm not here to start war, these are my personal opinions! A couple important notes:
I didn't use some of these mice for that long. I will indicate that.
I've come to learn during this experience that trying out different mice YOURSELF is extremely important. Truly, nothing beats holding them, clicking them, and playing games with them extensively instead of reading about them online. And you might surprise yourself with mice or qualities you didn't think you'd care for. In addition, you'll adapt pretty well to a lot of mice if you give them enough time. Admittedly, sometimes I didn't give them enough time.
I'm not here to discuss the finer points of sensors or suggest (most of the time) you will aim better with X mouse. I'm just here to give my overall impressions and what I liked and didn't like about each mouse.
18.5 x 9.5 cm hands (or 19 x 10, I'm not 100% sure where to measure to sometimes) and usually palm grip but switched freely between the mice as needed.
So let's get started! Logitech G Pro Wireless It's a pleasure, even if only mentally, owning a mouse that you know is supposed to be pricey and cutting edge as far as technology goes. It is wireless and it is lightweight, and that's great. Is it worth the price tag? I'd argue most of the time, NO. If you can afford to buy it, cool. If not, you're not missing out on some godly, perfect mouse that will make you an aim god. The shape feels like a jack of all trades, master of none, but maybe I'm just comparing it to Zowies, all 3 kinds of which are sitting on my desk right now. It doesn't quite feel perfect for any of the grip styles, but it is good enough for all of them. One of my pet peeves is not being able to grip a mouse until you've warmed up, and this is going to be a recurring trend in these reviews. Whenever I came home from work and played with the GPW, I was usually fine and needed minimal warm-up. But one day I took it to work, and working/browsing was difficult as I went about my business, typed, washed my hands, and found it of varying grippiness throughout the day. The buttons can be forced together, but I personally don't have this issue while playing. The clicks are fine, despite what some may have said - I've heard they're actually lighter than those of the G203 but the sound is not quite as loud and chirpy, so there may be a mental aspect here. Personally, I'm glad they went for a more subdued sound. One thing that is inconsequential to me is that pressing in the scroll wheel is a little difficult, so anyone who needs to do so freely/rapidly will find it hard. Overall, a very cool piece of technology, not worth the money unless you have cash to spare. Logitech G203 One of my picks for best budget mice of all time. The clicks are light and chirpy, and I'm coming around to them despite finding them a little too light and chirpy originally. They do seem loud. When I first started using it after maining my EC2-A, there were lots of misclicks as I moved my mouse around. This is something I've gotten used to since then. The shape has been complained about, so be wary, but it is fine for me. Occasionally, my hand would hurt but again, it's something I learned to hold and do it relatively comfortably. With my hand size, I did have to make adjustments though, such as making my hand more clawy/fingertippy, or by sort of "palming" it ironically by letting my fingers run along the length of the mouse, while making contact with only the top of the palm. Anyway, it's got good build quality, a hit or miss shape, it's cheap, and a decent weight. Logitech G305 Only a mouse I'd consider with a AAA battery, otherwise it's very back-heavy. It's pretty much the same thing as the G203 except it's wireless and the side buttons are mushier unfortunately. I have little else to say because it's so similar to the G203 so if you want wireless, it's up to you. Logitech G403 This is, unfortunately, a mouse I didn't use for long nor give a fair shot, so take this with a grain of salt. I tried it out when I broke my first Zowie, the EC1-A, in a fit of rage. The dreaded hump is hit or miss with people, and it was so uncomfortable I had to return it. Otherwise, it's a very well-made mouse. Why didn't I spend a longer time with it? This was earlier on before I tried a million mice and found myself more capable of adapting to so many. Since I had used nothing but an EC (in my mind the most comfortable mouse in the world) for years leading up to my trying out the G403, I just couldn't do it. So this is just a warning to those who are very used to great ergonomic shapes - you might have gotten used to them and that might ruin your chances of liking this mouse. Zowie EC2-A White Edition This was my main for a year. To this day it is the comfiest and grippiest mouse I've ever used. Or rather, I find all glossy Zowies to be extremely grippy. The clicks are stiffer, which never bothered me. The side buttons and scroll wheels are a bit mushy, though not quite as bad as on the non-white Zowies. Overall, if you wanted a safe bet for a comfortable and grippy mouse, this might be your best bet. I will say, I've got the FK2 and ZA13 just yesterday and this is where I start to go off of my normal "don't give aim advice" advice. I feel like I have great aim with the EC2-A because it's one of the few mice that truly felt like a natural extension of myself. With no slipping of the grip, and with a comfortable shape, it's worked out great for me. However, I've seen a picture online (that I can't find right now) where it shows people holding ergonomic mice at an angle. That's how I naturally hold this mouse unless I correct it. It showed that when you do so, moving side to side actually moves your crosshair on a slanted line, since your mouse is slanted. I'm not 100% sure if this is a factor, but in games where you have to click the pixels on your screen that are people's heads, I'd imagine it is. So with that being said: Zowie FK2 and ZA13 (White Editions) I really wish I had more time to play with these, but I've been waiting to give y'all my thoughts on all these mice for quite a while now and couldn't wait any longer. I gave these a shot because people swear by the FK2 and say that they aim better with it than any other mouse. RJN's personal #1 mouse is an FK2, and he specifically said that he thought he wouldn't have liked it, and he wouldn't have even tried it if Zowie didn't send him a copy, just because it's not really a palm-able mouse. This made me curious. Again, take this with a grain of salt, but even though I am relatively new to Quake Champions (and arena shooters in the first place), I have been on an absolute tear since trying out these two mice. Maybe we can just tone this down and logically say that this is due to them being (generally considered) the best shapes in the industry, extremely grippy, ambidextrous so I wouldn't have the slant issue I may have with the EC2-A, and lower weight (than the EC2-A). I was pretty huge on the GPW prior to using these, but I've come to realize grip width is quite important, and the GPW feels considerably thicker in the middle than either of these mice. The side buttons on the FK2 are quite small, but that hasn't been an issue in any games for me. Even though I don't normally fingertip mice, I've found that a palm/fingertip hybrid is quite comfortable. Some hybrid grip, which I won't bother trying to get too specific about, makes the ZA13 quite comfortable as well. I'd say that a lot of the complaints about Zowies is definitely more relevant to the EC series than the FK/ZA series. By comparison, the side buttons are snappy and responsive, and the scroll wheels, while I'd prefer more defined steps, are not as mushy as the EC wheel. With that being said, I can honestly say that I understand gripes about Zowies but not so much the white FK/ZA series. $70? These are $60. Build quality? As I mentioned, the side buttons and scroll wheels are noticeably better. Not the best I've ever used, but on par with "average" considering all the mice I've tried in this thread. Sensor? The overwhelming majority of people can't tell, and I haven't had any spin-outs across thousands of hours across several FPSs. One of these is probably going to become my main, at least for FPSs. Overall, a $60 mouse that is extremely comfortable, grippy, and a decent weight and build quality is the closest to end-game as it gets for me, besides possibly the GPW just being ridiculously light for a wireless mouse considering its size but that comes with a hefty price tag. One last note - I know this section is long but even though I think this community is extremely kind (remember the time I got scammed and two different strangers offered me G305s?), I have formed a bit of a chip on my shoulder due to people's sheer hate for well, most non-Logitech companies. And even Logitech is starting to piss people off. Nobody's perfect, but the white FK/ZA series is far from shitty. Anyway, going off of these stats, 180 out of 270 (give or take some due to sponsorships) CSGO pros use Zowies. That's an astounding fucking number. Roccat Kone Pure Owl-Eye (ctrl+F KPOE) Ahh the little mouse that coulda, shoulda, woulda. This is hands-down one of the best mice I've ever used as far as build quality goes. The scroll wheel (as trivial as that may sound to some) feels extremely satisfying to use, and is the best I've ever seen. The only problem is that it is a bit small, and is an unsafe shape. Frankly, I find the right side of the mouse extremely baffling. IF the size/shape works out for you, it might just be one of the very nicest mice you could ever own for a "normal" price, looking at today's climate. But the shape is not safe, and even though I made other mice work with my hand size, the KPOE is doable but a bit harder to get used to. This is yet another mouse that works much better once I've warmed up (it actually has been relatively OK grip-wise when I come home from work), but I did take it to work a good amount and found it extremely frustrating to try to grip when my hands were dry, and the shape became that much bigger of an issue to me. Note: The rest of these mice I used very little SteelSeries Rival 600 I actually really wanted to like this mouse. In pictures, it looks a bit gaudy but in person it looks much better. I really liked the subdued, "mature" sound/feel of the LMB and RMB a lot. I didn't dock points for the third side button that was too far forward for me to use, I just didn't add points for it either. It is quite large, that's for sure. My biggest issue with it is that the rubber side grips made it extremely slippery for me to grip when my hands were dry. Again, once I've warmed up, it gets much better. But until then, the shape of the right side, and the slipperiness of the grips, made it tough for me to pick up. Also, perhaps due to the size and shape, playing with it for a couple hours made my hand hurt, but I think that is something I may have gotten used to if I played with it longer. Or maybe not, because maybe I was tensing my hand to keep it from slipping. SteelSeries Sensei 310 I used this the least of all the mice in this thread. Unfortunately, I find its shape quite odd. It appears pretty flat and wide, and because it's ambidextrous, both sides cave in a bit, which is fine on the left side, but weird on the right side. Nothing spectacular to write home about, so I'd advise just getting a Logitech or Zowie ambidextrous mouse instead. CoolerMaster MM531 Although I didn't end up keeping this mouse, it was a bit of a sleeper hit for me. I didn't expect to like anything about it, since the pictures make the shape look extremely weird, and because of the rubber side grips. Well, as someone who habitually digs their thumb really hard into the side of his mice, I'm not sure this would have worked out for me. BUT, I did enjoy the shape quite a bit. It felt too narrow in the middle at first, but playing with it more made me very used to it quickly. I also liked that, similar to the Rival 600, the clicks felt less chirpy and more subdued. Again, a good feeling and probably less annoying to roommates. One thing I was a little iffy about, however, is that the side buttons are pretty high up on the side of the mouse. As someone who uses M4 as a push-to-talk button, it was slightly awkward. So in conclusion, I have a personal preference for Logitech and Zowie, and I have no problem defending Zowie's white FK/ZA lines as top recommendations for die-hard FPS players. I strongly encourage people to try many mice, even if that means getting active in the buying/selling community (but carefully), in order to personally experience them! Give things a fair shot, and you will almost certainly end up surprising yourself.
