I know everyone is super excited for the final four on Thursday. Stanford, BYU, Nebraska, Illinois. The cream of the crop. Three regional hosts and lasts year's champion. You couldn't ask for anything better. Well anyways, a friend and I have been modeling Women's volleyball and doing decently well (about 13% roi on over 250 plays). You can also check my potd history on volleyball, which (is obviously a meaningless sample but) went 12-7 for 27.3%roi. Although I don't want to give out the data and code, it's a pretty basic predictive model (not too dissimilar from kenpom) built from scraped statistics off the NCAA website. I figured it might be of interest to someone to discuss the rest of the tourney from a betting perspective. We've got 4 good teams. Per our model: Stanford (1), BYU (2)*, Nebraska (5), Illinois (6). In the semis: We have Nebraska as a 51% fav over Illinois, and Stanford as a 57% fav over BYU. What you'll notice looking at the lines is Illinois is +235, which is super out of line with us seeing the game as a coin flip. Moreover, Illinois is +120 against a +1.5 spread, we have them covering 61%. It's weird too, because the teams played twice this year and split the season series. And Illinois got a #1 and Nebraska didn't. And Illinois just looked a lot better in the last round versus Wisconsin than Nebraska did versus Oregon. But what if Illinois loses? Good news, there are look-ahead lines. Stanford is -135 against Nebraska, but we have them as 63% favorites. Similarly, BYU is -110, but we have them as 59% favorites. The spreads are similarly off. Spoiler, Nebraska is super overrated by 5dimes. I have no idea why. Maybe because they won the tournament last year. We have them at 21% to win the tourney; 5dimes puts them at +145. Per our model: just about every anti-Nebraska bet that can be made is +ev. This is a cut n' paste of all the things I bet on. TLDR: Nebraska is a lock to win the NCAA women's volleyball tournament. Goodbye money. EDIT: Last night was almost awesome Illinois was up 2-0 and had every chance imaginable to knock off Nebraska right away. And then they didn't. Still a profitable night if you had their and Stanford spreads, but it was almost excellent. Saturday is going to be my biggest night ever. If they open a Stanford -1.5 +165 (the look-ahead line), I'm still going to absolutely hammer it. This could go badly.
I placed three bets for the final four today and the tickets look like they had a mistake. They all say -110 even thought on the sheet they had there one of them was -110 and the others were +210 and +130. Is this a printing mistake and does it matter? Or is there nothing wrong I'm new to this so I honestly don't know. Thanks for helping in advance :)

For a little over a week, I've been trying to take people at their claims and place some wagers. It all started with eaturbrainz, who stepped up to the plate with their confidence in their mastery of the universe. I've tried to find some other people with as much confidence, but no luck so far.
Does anyone have any bets they want to propose? Can we get a trusted community member or mod to agree to be the final authority on the result of bets when all is over, if my opponents are okay with their arbitration? edit: speling

I was pretty happy. I only bet to make the matches more exciting for myself, so no stattrak redlines or anything crazy. I was happy with my intuition on these teams, though. Especially that Na'Vi would take that very close last game.
