Small reviews of (I think) all incremental games I've ever played on Android

I don't know if this will be useful to anyone. So I write a line or two about every game I play, and decided to find all the incremental in my game journal and post them here. It starts with the latest games I've played and I think goes back to several years back. One thing I've realized is I have such a love-hate-hate relationship with this genre since I think I've hated 90% of the games and 100% of myself after each incremental phase. I usually angrily stop playing them for a while and restart them again, so this is more or less a journal of addiction, I suppose.
THE BEST GAMES I'VE PLAYED ARE THESE (no order):
  1. Kittens Game
  2. Antimatter Dimensions
  3. Oil Tycoon
Honorable Mention: Eggs, Inc
The rest: more or less hated it
Additional comment if you decide to scan through it, I complain a lot, so it is perfectly reasonable and normal to think, "why the fuck are you even playing these games, idiot??".

------
Time Idle RPG
This game was confusing. It tells me the game's resources is time, where you get 1 of it every second, but that's not really something as unique as I assumed. It would have been cool if time as resources meant you used it to deal with something related to time. Maybe time travel? Maybe slowing and speeding time?
Instead time as resource buys you stuff like a library. And then you buy a camp or something. Honestly, I wasn't really feeling it.

Path of Idling
The biggest cardinal sin for me when it comes to incremental is when a game has a lot of features and it just completely throws them all at you instantly. The joy of a great incremental is how things slowly open up and each new achievement feels progress.
The game is a RPG game and these are the things that opened up for me in the first few hours.
Combat which includes normal fighting, dungeon, raid, boss, PVP (locked, but it just needs an ascend, which I haven't done)
Skills
Hero upgrades which include Passive (strength, defence, stamina, intelligence), Train, and a huge Tree
Town which you can buy workers who get you various things like gold, orbs, knowledge, etc. You can upgrade stuff here.
Quest that also includes Perks and Skill quests.
Gear which 5 equipment slots, plus craft plus trade plus smelt
Also gear for your Pet, which is also another tab!
Now, here is the thing. Because I have all of this pretty much instantly, I don't really know which ones are helping me go past a well. How is adding 10 points in strength helping me? Should I have added five in strength instead and five in defence? I have already bought 20 or so upgrades in the Tree, but I have no idea if I am made the optimal choice. There is no real excitement with getting new gear. And so on.
The dev has added a lot of features, now it's time to rework the game, and have the features take their time.

Idle Slayer
The game is like a super simple platformer. Your character is running and any enemy it hits, it automatically slays it. There is no HP, and all enemies die in one shot. Your only active play is jumping occasionally to grab coins or hit the flying enemies. Also, you have a run skill that has a cool down.
With the coins, we get new weapons that give us more coins. Enemies give us souls which is used for the prestige system that provides us with an interesting skill tree which provides a lot of choices on the path you want to do in terms of upgrades.
So far excellent, however, the game has an extremely serious issue of pacing. The game initially progresses so fast that in the first hour or so, you get almost all the weapons aside from the last two, which then grinds down to a snail pace. You can upgrade your past weapons, but they never really get into play again. Reaching high levels of past weapons sometimes gave me upgrades of that weapon of 10,000% but they still did nothing to my overall coin per second. I think the pacing needs to be fully reworked. It would have been nice to get new weapons after certain prestige cycles, so that every new weapon feels like we have passed a significant wall. The best part of an incremental game for me is to face a wall, and when I finally break it, I feel powerful again for a while. This game feels like this though, powerful powerful powerful powerful WALL........break it....WALL. And so on. I'm still playing it as I want to get some of the skills, but I feel like it could have been so much better.

Exponential Idle
A very back to the foundation kind of incremental. The premise is that you are a student and working on a formula. There is a neat story where as you progress in the game, your character progresses through university. Each upgrade gives you more and more automation until I reached a stage where I would check back once every 2 or 3 days, click a 2nd layer prestige reset, and close it. Meaning the game was something like 5 seconds of game player every 2 days. I just opened it for this review and realized I had reached the end game. The story wraps up and it tells me "You can take a rest. Travel a bit. Go outside!" NO, DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO GAME.

Factoid
Factoid & Spark should have the same review as they are almost the same game with only small differences. The games are the most basic kind of incremental, where you buy something with resources, until you get the next thing which gives you more of the resources. Both give you upgrades to speed things up, and finally prestige and it's own prestige upgrades. That's it. It's nice little change of pace from all the recent incremental that sometimes do too much, but obviously due to the very simple nature of it, it does eventually feel pointless, specially after you more or less open up everything and the prestige upgrades just keep repeating.

Antimatter Dimensions
Easily top 5 incremental on mobile. Does everything perfectly. You progress nicely, and when new features open it, not only is it rewarding but more importantly, it keeps adding new dimensions (lol) to the game. I'd at the end game as I write this, and I realize that there was no point in the game where it felt stale. Each new prestige layer made the game feel fresh and almost like a new incremental game.
5
Melvor Idle
It seems this game was mainly aimed at Runescape players, which is probably why it didn't click for me. It also run extremely slow on my phone which also played a part in me not really getting into.
2
A Girl Adrift
The animation is really pretty and is a nice change of pace for incrementals, but I didn't really like the too much active play. Really had to keep going back and forth to different areas to do the fishing which got too repetitive for me.
You travel to different areas of the map to catch fish, which you get points and then you upgrade stuff, but I didn't really find any real excitement about the upgrades because I kept having to go back to previous areas to fish similar creatures.
3
Archer: Danger Phone
I'm really annoyed how terrible of a game this was. Two things I like, the TV show "Archer" and incremental games, and it's done in the most lazy manner. The game is the worst aspect of idle games where it's just a straight path of clicking the next upgrade with absolutely zero decision making. Every once in a while there is a mini game where Archer gets to shoot others but it's done in the most basic form of early 2000s flash games, where the animation budget is probably 3 dollars. Same static background and both enemies and Archer have just two animation frames. The absolute laziness of it is almost insulting to the player, because it feels like we aren't even worth the effort.
There is an Archer story in the game which develops really fast, which is the only positive part, but no voice acting is again another evidence that the creators of the game weren't given any budget for this.
1
Home Quest
This game is way too slow. You have to collect materials to build your settlement but everything takes time, so you click for a few seconds, and then you have to leave the game. Which I'm fine with, but the problem isn't the idle part of it, it's how the idle part of it combines with constant checking of the game which annoys me. I like an idle game where you forget to start the game for a day, you come up to a lot of resources, but this is a game which needs you to check back in every 30 minutes or an hour to really get anywhere. I felt that the micromanagement was getting worse as I progressed (without any actual thing to do when I am active in the game) that made me give up.
2
Idle Industry
This is probably an interesting game, but I gave up because the one thing I really disliked was the amount of resources and manufacturing that very quickly opens to you. You can buy raw materials, and you can either sell these raw materials or turn them into finished goods and sell them either. And each of these has several upgrade options (increase selling price, increase production, etc). Without even really getting too deep into the game, I have around 20 raw materials and around 30 finished products. A satisfying part of this genre is to have things slow open up for you, which gives me a decent feeling of satisfaction. But the money I got would quickly open up new products, so I would just jump ahead and purchase more expensive ones, and after a while I had a lot of materials and products at zero, and was instead focusing on latter ones.
2
Masters of Madness
Somewhat neat atmosphere and visuals, but too much active clicking. Click, upgrade to get more per clicks, get minions to get you some points without clicking, typical clicker, but with the added benefit of almost no idling. I like idling incrementals but clickers is a hard no from me.
1
Soda Dungeon 2
Basically similar to the first one, as far as I could tell. I did "finish" it but maybe I shouldn't have, since it really is the same thing from early on, specially once you get all the heroes and you kind of sort out which characters work best, then it's just the same. But because it was somewhat short and no real wall, it was at least easy to stick to it to the end.
2
Bacterial Takeover
Played for a decent amount and was actually more interesting that I thought, given the buttload of ad incentives. You create and upgrade bacteria, attack planets, and eventually go into a blackhole to prestige. Most of the game was good, but the part that killed it for me was the prestige system. Once you prestige, planets get super easy to attack, which becomes a lot of active play. I realized that each prestige was taking me at least 30 minutes to get to where I was, and it was just meaningless clicking. It got to a point where I was putting off prestige because it seemed like it would be a hassle so I stopped.
2
LogRogue
Cute graphics. The hero sort of hopping to hit the tiny monsters is cute to look at, but how long can you look at it and do nothing before you realize that it's boring? I suppose this is a game where it's just not for me. I don't like to have my phone open on a game and just watch it like a crazy person and do nothing. My rule is simple for incrementals. While the app is open, be active, if there isn't any choices to make, close the app while resources build up or whatever. I don't like it being open while I do nothing.
3
A Kittens Game
Incremental games are so strange. I get in and out of the phases. I loved this for so long and so obsessively that I wanted to only play incremental games. And then, just like that, I was wondering why the fuck I was wasting my time with this. Has happened countless times before.
But still probably the best incremental ever.
5
A Dark Room
An incremental cult classic of sorts but I don't find it really matches the genre. There is a bit of incremental at the beginning with people huts and stuff but then its just a ascii exploring game, which wasn't interesting to me.
2
Little Healer
Saw it mentioned in the Reddit incremental forum in one of the posts and thought it was a healer themed incremental which sounded neat. But it's like being a healer in a raid in World of Warcraft without any if the extras. Just a couple of bars representing your team mates and you healing them while they fight the boss. I didn't even like playing the healer in WoW so no way would I play this game.
1
Clickie Zoo
Started playing for a few days until I realized there a beta released with the dev reworking the game completely from scratch and releasing it as "Idle Zoo Tycoon". So, played that instead but this seemed like a game I would enjoy anyway.
4
Idling to Rule the Gods
The UI and one drawing if your character is really ugly enough to be distracting to me. The game, seemed interesting and I eventually was into it, but seems like a game that has been constantly being updated, which is not always a good thing, because features are obviously updated regularly to it, making the whole thing a bit bloaty.
I guess, this is the problem with this game for me, it's too fat. Also, one main part of the game is that your character creates Shadow Clones up to a maximum limit. Which is fine except the clones can't be made in offline mode. This might not be a big deal in its original web browser game but that doesn't work as well in a mobile format.
2
Realm Grinder
This is one of the really popular incremental and it's fanbase seems to love it for it's depth, but to be honest, I don't play these games for the depth, I play it for the simple dopamine rush of doing the same thing over and over again. It relaxes.
Although, I didn't even get to the depth part because I dislike games where it rushes in the beginning. I constantly bought buildings, got spells, and got upgrades without even looking at the description. Apparently, later on, we can get complicated race upgades, which seems not what I'm looking for in such a genre.
2
Spaceplan
A short (!!) incremental with an actual story (!!!). That's two cool points for it but unfortunately, the game mechanics of increment genre isn't so good. It's a space game with nice visuals and a great ending (cool music set to cool graphics) but the game itself wasn't really that fun. This same exact game would have been better in a different genre (maybe something like "Out There"?)
3
Zombidle
Felt like idle games again and this is the kind of examples that kept me away. Too much clicking and seems like advancement will start to get irritating since it relies on IAPs
2
Eggs, Inc
While I was playing it, Eggs, Inc was probably my favorite Android game I had ever played. But like most incremental games, there comes a moment when I suddenly stop and think, what am I doing?
Because there is something fascinating about Incrementals. Their addictiveness is in a way the whole point. An incremental is less of a game and more an act of electronic addictiveness. What's the point?
Eggs, Inc is a very well made and fun incremental but even the best in its genre is still pointless.
4
Castle Clicker
Supposedly a mix of incremental and city building but didn't really find out since the clickings were way to much. I know this is supposed to be the genre but I like the incremental part more than the tapping part. This seemed to be a good way to hurt your fingers.
2
Endless Era
This RPG clicker game is like other such games but with horrible GUI and animations. Tap tap tap. It's my fault for downloading such games. Why would I ever think this would be fun???
1
Idle Quote
An incremental game with a unique twist. This time we get to make up quotes! The first negative about the game and this irritates me a lot is most of the quotes are fake. A quick search on Google and this proves it. Quotes are generally attributed to Buddha or Ghandi or shit like that and it's usually fake like most quotes on the internet. This kills the major possible advantage of the game because I thought coming up with arbitrary words would at least give me some quotes to learn. Aside from the this, the game isn't fun either because it slows down very quickly meaning you combine words very slowly at a certain stage of the game and then it becomes a boring grind.
2
Monster Miser
An incremental game with almost no graphics. We just see character portraits of monsters which we buy and then upgrade until we buy the next monster. Eventually we prestige which gives us multipliers. The only game choice is choosing between two monsters with each new monster with unique benefits. Annoyingly there is a max limit which I wish didn't exist because I wanted to prestige so much that I would be over powerful in upgrading like that "Idle Oil Tycoon". Still, pointless but reasonably fun.
3
Pocket Politics
An incremental take on politics sounds fun but it's so generic that it could have been about anything. A Capitalist idle game or a cooking idle game, it wouldn't matter. IAP was also the usual shitty kind.
1
Time Clickers
A shooter incremental sounds like a cool twist but it's not a FPS like I imagined it would be. I'm just stuck in a room and I was shooting blocks. Upgrades didn't give me any enjoyment since I was shooting fucking blocks.
1
Tap Tap Fish - Abyssrium
I thought this was going to be relaxing incremental but the ridiculous and generic IAPs and all the social integeration spoil it. Too much time is spent in them asking you to buy or share or tweet or post or give them a blowjob. And there is nothing relaxing about that.
2
Cartoon 999
Incremental game about comic book writers, but not the marvel DC kind, it seemed to be the webcomic one and I think it's a Korean developer so all the characters and injokes made no sense to me. The whole thing was just targeted to a very specific audience.
2
Dungeon Manager
Incremental games need to be simple but this is beyond simple, it's just upgrade a fighter to level 5, go to next dungeon character, do the same, and just continue without any of the delicious balancing of upgrades like other idle games.
2
Final Fortress
Incremental games are already pointless but when it's super heavy on IAP than its also annoying, but when it always has bugs that doesn't register my offline earnings, then it just needs a uninstall in its face.
The zombie skin was also crappy.
1
Mana Maker
Here is how I know this clicker isn't very good. It doesn't make me hate all clickers and my life and mobile gaming in general for being so addictive and pointless.
So fail, sorry.
2
Infinity Dungeon
The usual incremental RPG that I should probably never play again. Starts simple enough and then gets more or a chore as you play.
1
Another incremental game which I had promised myself not to play anymore because they are so pointless and repetitive and endless. Well, this wasn't infinite and had a goal at 999 level so I thought it was good but while the humor was cute, the game did become very repetitive. Every 10 levels the slimes changed but after every 100 levels the whole thing restarted and while the monsters got stronger, I seemed to get even stronger. So the game became easier as I progressed and there was no more challenge. By level 800, I gave up.
2
Tap Dungeon RPG
Okay, I'm running out of ways to complain about those incremental RPG games that all have similar problems. It starts off reasonably fast and fun but soon it seems like I am in a data entry job. Doing the same thing over and over again with little changes.
1
Dungeon 999 F: Secret of Slime Dungeon
Another incremental game which I had promised myself not to play anymore because they are so pointless and repetitive and endless. Well, this wasn't infinite and had a goal at 999 level so I thought it was good but while the humor was cute, the game did become very repetitive. Every 10 levels the slimes changed but after every 100 levels the whole thing restarted and while the monsters got stronger, I seemed to get even stronger. 1
Tower of Hero
You start on the first floor of the tower and keep fighting your way up by summoning your heroes (by clicking) and recruiting other fighters, get upgrades, level up, and then, ugh, here is the typical incremental RPG part, restart, get items, and do it ALL over again.
There is something fun about restarting and getting slowly stronger each time but it also feels so pointless after a while. Such a pointless genre now that I have played a billion of such titles, heh.
3
Pageboy
Yet another incremental RPG which I have no idea why I downloaded because I'm sick of the genre. I played a pageboy to a knight who does the fighting while I collect the lot. I collect the loot, buy stuff for the knight, and eventually I restart to do the same thing again and get better items but this game I didn't even RESTART! Because fuck it! Fuck it!
2
Idle Warriors
The story is cute. Human population is regressing while monster population is on the rise. So the humans start enslaving monsters to mine for them! The brave warriors beat the crap out of monsters, kidnap the bosses, and enslave them. The animation of monsters slaving away while speech balloons above them talk about their wife and children is funny.
But the game itself is another RPG incremental which I should start staying away from. These games are like a chore for me nowadays because I'm doing the same crap again and again. The blame is probably on me because it seems like a reasonably solid game. But hey, fuck it, I PERSONALLY didn't enjoy it.
2
Tap! Tap! Faraway!
Any game that is remotely like Tap Titan scares me. They are addictive at first and very fast moving but after every restart gets more and more annoying. It soon turns into a time eating activity with the player having to redo the initial levels to get relics to get better items to progress further to restart to get relics to and so on until the player realizes how much time he is putting in the game for a repetitive activity.
2
Auto RPG
Now that is a title the game developers didn't spend too much time on. RPG battles are automatic but I can help out by clicking like a mad man. I started with one hero but would get additional members in my party as the story progressed. Party members receive skills as as they level up and while all the skill usage is automatic, it did give me a sense of progression which is extremely important in a RPG and which I think is usually lacking in incremental games. It usually starts feeling useless but in this game at least there are new maps, new members, and an actual end sight!
There is an infinity stage once the last boss is defeated but I am glad the infinity stage happens AFTER the end and it's not the game itself.
4
Merchant
Hire a hero and send on to battle. The battles is done automatically and takes time, starts with something short like 10 seconds with each battle taking longer. The loot is raw materials which can be used to craft equipment which also takes real life time with better items taking longer. The crafted items can either be sold or equipped to the hero to make him be able to fight stronger monsters.
I was worried I would hate the longer crafting and fighting times because I hate games which I have to watch for a task to finish but even though the durations for longer, I had more to do. However, I don't know what would have happened in the end game because I gave up on it. New maps were exactly like the first map just with different heroes but the progression was similar in each level which felt that I was doing the exact same thing all over again but with longer task times.
2
Idle Oil Tycoon
This is the best idle game I played. It's graphics aren't just minor, they are none existent. It's just numbers, so basic that my sister thought I was on a stock market app.
It's such a simple concept. Invest, get oil, upgrade then like other idlers restart to get a bonus and do the full thing all over again. When I finished the game, I played the unlimited mode which I played until the unlimited mode couldn't handle the numbers anymore.
5
Soda Dungeon
This kind-of Idle Dungeon was great. I started with weak ass fighters who would fight on my behalf while I collected the loot. I then got to use the lot to upgrade the sofa bar to recruit more adventurers. Not sure why it was a sofa bar. Maybe they wanted to make it a family game and not have alcohol? Sounds weird but the sofa element in a RPG game sounds weirder.
The game only hit a brick for me when, like most other incremental games, there is no real closure. Once I thought I bet the big bad guy, it just goes on, harder but similar enough with no end in sight. Eventually, we have to stop playing right, but it always feels a bit like a let down when I don't feel like I have finished the game.
4
10 Billion Wives Kept Man Life
The two games from this company, 10 Billion Wives and Kept Man Life, have similar strengths and weaknesses.
I liked the silly premises from both. In 10BM, I had to get married as much as I could, using the loves I collect to marry more expensive wives! In KML, I'm a boyfriend who doesn't work and I have to please my career gf so she would take care of me.
Both start reasonably fast and I was willing to grind through difficult parts but the end game is like a brick wall. Passing through it to get all the achievements is pretty much impossible unless one puts in way too many hours. And it's a shame because I really wanted to get all the achievements to see all the tiny little extra stuff.
3
Adventure Capitalist
One of the better incremental games, but now that I am out of the short lived incremental fan phase, I realized how dumb the genre is. Tap, tap, tap, upgrade, do this a million times, reset, and do it all over again like a moron. The game does deserve credits for me acting like a moron and playing it for so long but I also cheated and got free cash and then if occupying became even more pointless.
3
The Monolith
A combination of an incremental and a civilization building game seemed like an excellent idea and in some ways, it was, specially how we get to upgrade through the ages from cavemen to futuristic. But no offline feature means that the resets aren't enticing.
2
USSR Simulator
An incremental game that has a great theme (USSR!) but absolutely horrible to enjoy, even though I did stick to it. After a certain upgrades, the game just turned into me popping in the game, clicking an upgrade and then forgetting about the game for a few days.
2
RPG Clicker
They should call these games tappers not clickers. We are not clicking anything on a touchscreen device. Anyway, tap tap tap level up buy weapons tap tap and uninstall.
1
Logging Quest Logging Quest 2
[Review is for the original and its sequel]
There is not much of a difference between the game. I actually played them both at the same time because the actual game is offline. You choose your hero, send them to a dungeon, and then come back to the game after a while to see how well they did. I thought an offline RPG like this might be interesting but then, if you don't really play a game, how much fun can it be?
1
Another pointless incremental. I was in an incremental phase and got so many incremental games that I know realize were absolutely pointless.
Hit a tree, buy upgrades, get a new hero, and continue hitting a tree. Not much offline it seems which is what I like about incrementals.
1
Galaxy Clicker
A space incremental that should have been a lot of fun. You get to upgrade your spaceship and buy new ones and explorer new planets. But first of all, the interface is so ugly that it makes playing the game less enjoyable. And a lot of things I didn't really get no matter how much I would play like the full exploring planets. The spaceships were nice, so it could have been fun.
2
Megatramp
A pretty pointless incremental kind of game. You are a tramp and then you can collect money to buy upgrades to make more money, with no strategy needed, nor any effort needs to be made to hurt your brain cells.
1
Inflation RPG
It supposed to be some kind of incremental RPG, I think, which has you resetting and getting more powerful and then fighting monsters to get insane levels. It is very unique but I couldn't get into it.
2
Widget RPG
Are you fucking with me? This is button bashing rpg in the most extreme manner. You get a widget, so you don't even have to open the game and distract yourself from the button bushing. Just click the button and the game plays behind the scenes and gets you experience, loot, and kills.
It's a ridiculous idea that is fun for a few minutes to see what they come up with but there is only so much button bashing you can do.
2
Capitalist Tycoon
I downloaded this game because I was in an incremental/idle game phase and really enjoyed AdVenture Capitalist. But this game is nothing like that. On the surface, it seems similar, buy small investments, make money, buy bigger investments, and so on.
But with this game, there is no offline mode, and you keep having to wake up managers, AND the goal is to see how much you make in one year. Bah. I prefer the incremental approach which makes you build and build and build, not try to rush it in just a year.
2
Clicking Bad
An incremental clicking game that is themed after Breaking Bad. It is a fun idea it's a very simple game with little to do aside from the obvious of upgrading and upgrading. The only twist might be to balance out making lots of money selling drugs and not attracting the law but even that is only a small challenge at the start. Eventually, you will get enough upgrades to bring the law risk so down that it makes no impact on the game play.
2
Zombie Tapper
A super basic incremental clicker game with a zombie team. Click click click to eat brains, use brains (?) to buy zombies to do the brain eating for you and then buy upgrades for your zombies, and buy new zombies and it all feels very pointless.
1
Bitcoin Billionaire
I started to enjoy incremental games, but it needs to have a good offline mode, because I don’t want to just play a game where I keep tapping. But that doesn’t mean I didn’t play. I played it, and I played a lot of it, because I could reset the game (like most incremental games) and it gives you a small benefit where you could finish the full game a bit faster (it gives you bonus income). So, I kept finishing and resetting, and each time the start to finish would shorten, so I thought I would reach a stage where I could finish each start-to-finish in an instant! It didn’t happen. I got bored first.
3
Tap Titan
An addictive tapping game. Just tap on the creatures, level up, get new skills, hire heroes, and then reset and to it all over again to progress further. It’s an incremental game where it depends on resets to progress, but no real offline bonus, so you have to be playing online. Which got boring, so I installed an app that does the tapping for me, which is actually a stupid way to play the game, but this isn’t an attempt to prove to anyone my intelligence. Anyway, thankfully something went wrong and my progress got deleted, WHICH WAS A GOOD THING, because the game was extremely addictive.
4
God Squad
I’ve realized most incremental games are stupid. Tap on monsters to kill, collect gold, buy Roman Gods, level them up, fight other monsters, and then get bored.

...“You know what I'm here for!” Effie’s words rang out as Ernie watched on at the unexpected turn of events.
“The funny thing is I really don’t know.” Ernie stood there and took in the scene. Was this the first time he had seen this type of outburst in the District? Ernie tried to recall, but now wasn’t really the time to reminisce on bad memories.
Something was afoot. Something about Ugo threatening them that was for sure. But if Ugo wanted somebody to fight him this would never be his plan of attack. “Would you care to enlighten me then, I wouldn’t mind this either way!” Ernie shouted back, his tone was neutral, the tension of the situation only increased, but he didn’t see a need to fight back even now.
“They sent us here, because they wanted us to steal your notebook!” Ernie heard the voice of Jenny behind a tree.
Things started to make sense to Ernie, the hiding, why it wasn’t Odin’s people doing this, and that outburst. “And what do you two intend to do?” Ernie moved his backpack from his back to carrying it on one arm.
“Well if you help us, you could send them a fake notebook! It’s not like we like those fuckers anyways!” Jenny replied beyond the trees.
Well that wasn’t so difficult was it, it only took one or maybe both of their ire to get to this arrangement. Ernie weighed this against the prospect that they were lying to him, but if it came down to it it would just be either a fight now or a fight later. “Alright I’ll help you! I’ll be in my cabin manuscripting! You two wait outside, this will take less than an hour!” Ernie shouted back over as he started to walk back to his cabin.
“Your funeral..wait what?!” Effie flipped as Jenny clapped an arm on her, “We did it, we can get out of this shitty situation.”
Effie looked around, The Murder receded back into herself. “Did that really just happen?” She held out the hope that it really would be that easy, she wanted to believe it but she felt a slight pang of confusion, guilt maybe?
Jenny continued on, “We just have to make sure that he does his end of the deal and we’ll be out of here in no time.” Jenny looked at Effie’s face as she noticed the change in expression, “You okay there? You let out a bunch just now and if you wanted to talk about it.”
“No I’m ok, come on we have to still keep an eye on him.” Effie brushed Jenny’s arm off and made her way closer into the clearing with Jenny following.
Well, that was somewhat anticlimactic. If you were hoping for a match with some more carnage in it, how about checking out a race out of a monster-filled urn and voting on it?
Scenario:
Sound’s Garden Eastern Strip - Heartache Casino VIP Room
“So kind of you all to come again,” a man dressed garishly in gold spoke to a roomful of wealthy highrollers, a lounge area with a wall taken up by a screen large enough to make the place double as something of a particularly cozy home theater, a setup which had typically been reserved for two things: watching games organized by Heartache Casino’s owner on the closed-circuits of buildings he owned, and being rented out for private parties and banquets.
“This is pretty unconventional,” a dark-haired sniper remarked between drinks, staring at the screen as it showed, largely, several shots of a building in Downtown Los Fortuna, which seemed to have rapidly grown occupied by a small group of Stand Users, some of whom familiar to the district’s regulars after some close shaves in the subways both occupied, “but it’s brilliant… Just needed to get your tech guy to get cameras in there, now you have a huge show for free.”
“Should you be drinking, Seido?” The gold-clad owner asked, raising an eyebrow, “I mean, if something comes up…”
“If something comes up, I’m off-duty, I’m just a guest right now, and I can shoot well enough sloshed to get myself out of a bind. If you wanted me as security, you should’ve hired me for that… Though really, I’d have rather been down there raising some hell if I was gonna shoot things.”
Tigran sighed, finding that fair enough, he supposed… He wasn’t going to hire this man when he was buzzed, and he wouldn’t do guard detail for free either. Apparently, the man literally came to the city walking out of a bar into the flag unveiling, so he shouldn’t have been surprised.
Still, though, even with moods high here, nobody seeming to mind the way anonymous characters like Oh No and Conqueror Worm mingled among them. Sure, they were kind of a low-priority target right now, with protests in the Business district, the hell-on-earth about to be unleashed Downtown keeping their worst nightmares busy, and the usual BS in places like the Waterfront and Industrial, but the man once noted for his supremely smarmy overconfidence had been feeling more anxious lately, probably because the Entertainment District’s criminal underground had taken some losses recently.
Things were riding high with several successful games, and the arrival of Conqueror Worm, revitalizing everything that they had thought they’d known and opening up whole new possibilities of what games might be possible to organize from a place of safety, all while not asking for a penny of payment. He was a weird guy, but a valuable asset, and all that was understood to be asked in return was that they pretend not to know exactly who it was underneath that big fleshy suit.
And then, the next time they had an in-person event, a bunch of them died in a fire, and on the way to… Well, who knew why he was there, but something happened that got a formerly active manager and ‘game’ organizer murdered blocks away from the site of the flames. Was it a sign, then, that the old ways really were dying, that they needed to change with the times or lose this subculture of theirs entirely?
Maybe, and maybe some would leave it like that, but Tigran “Golden” Sins knew another source of common ground with every one of their games to go wrong, to go awry, to risk the future and safety of all that they were, all that they had. Everything (besides that time he got punched in the face) that had gone wrong, from Thutmose leaving them, to events that were supposed to be disastrous bloodbaths going well for the ‘players’ and ruining bets, could trace back somewhere.
And she was sitting there looking very disinterested, nursing a sparkling juice in a very expensive evening dress and earrings, recently bought by the only man in the world he believed to be above himself.
“Having a good time, Metra?” Fox asked the star known to much of the city as TD/MD, smiling smoothly and paying her more attention than the event itself, where he was significantly more public than before. He’d spent how many thousands on her in a few days?
“Sure, yeah,” she answered, with a clear disinterest and foul mood.
“I understand if you’re not… we’re all sorry to have lost Thutmose. Most likely by where he was, whoever killed him would have done the same to us had he not interfered. So he would want you to have a good time, right?”
“Alright, everyone, last calls!” Conqueror Worm called out, many eyes looking all over. After getting back from camera work, he’d volunteered to handle bets, on account of his utter disinterest in profiting from his work there. Damn shame, honestly; Tigran loved that weird golden Stand-hurting sword he’d always been swinging around, and something belonging to a regional founder would be a hell of a get to wear around. “We know all the key players in that little downtown scuffle, so let’s hear it! Who’s biting it? Who’s comin’ out? Who’s gonna have the highest bodycount? Is anyone even gonna get IN?”
That Oh No guy, from the Institute, spoke up through that voice changer he almost always had on in his coverings. “I think that… Three people will manage to find their way inside. Nobody on this betting board.”
“Ooh, bold words from our boldest regular!” Worm leaned in close, asking, “how much’re you puttin’ on that?”
“Nothing,” No responded, “I just want to see what comes of it… I’m almost disappointed you needed to ask.”
Peas in a pod, those two. Tigran sighed, figuring he might need to drink through these proceedings, only to glance at Metra, suddenly, seeming to smirk, ears twitching as if that special pitch of hers had picked something up. “What? What’s so fun now, that-”
The heavily reinforced, hidden doorway to the VIP room burst open, bisecting the hollow yet burly door guard as sand and rocks spilled out of its hollow crevasse, the only herald within seconds of a quintet of Stand Users barreling in, led by a trio on two motorbikes as two others, curious but energetic, followed.
“All that you’ve done ends here, Fox!”
Around the same time, Heartache Casino Public Floors
“Uh… Glitch? I think… it might be good if we… go?” William Eyelash was not liking it here very much. His hyperactive coworker and teammate had practically dragged him here after what was otherwise a simple delivery performed in place of Zebra, who had been busy enough delivering food to the other side of the city. William was the one supposed to carry it out, but Glitch had practically jumped at the opportunity to do so.
Glitch herself, meanwhile, seemed to be very content eating some fries which she (very regrettably) had to actually buy instead of simply snatching it away from a poor, unaware bystander, and had already ordered another plate because they were just that good. Security was too tight, somewhat on edge - the moment she got close to someone or something, they immediately turned their attention to her. Still, she didn’t want to deprive herself of one of the many pleasures of life like that, so she didn’t mind paying too much. “Mmrgh..? Why sho?”
“W- well… you know… uh...” William wasn’t sure how to say it - he was scared enough of Glitch’s erratic mannerisms most days, and that was while he tried to steer clear of her. Were he to directly oppose her, he’d have no way of knowing what she’d do! On top of that, he couldn’t help but notice that she seemed slightly… on edge. She was usually hyperactive, but she seemed to be even more eager to jump from one thing to another recently, and to ignore anything that even slightly stressed her out. Considering everything that happened to the staff at the Elephant Bones recently, it made sense for her to be stressed, even if she didn’t really show it usually. “... um, you know the rumors about this place… right? ”
Glitch turned to look at William, tilting her head “Hm? What rumors?”. “Uh... well… about the ED… and the fighting rings… I saw an article about it on the Hermod, and… i- it could be dangerous to be here for too long...” hearing William say that, Glitch seemed to recede for a bit, thinking to herself. “Mmm... well, it hasn’t been a problem yet! Right? Besides, the other chips haven’t arrived yet!” Glitch didn’t want to think much about it - so long as these fighting rings were away from her, she could just ignore them and go on with her life, but if it really was here, then maybe it would be good to avoid this place… but the fries were so good... Glitch took another look at the table she was sitting at and at the plate of fries she’d ordered. She grabbed a handful and ate them. “Mmm… after the second order of chips comes! Then we leave! But only after then!”
“Alright...” William didn’t like this very much, and he couldn’t help but shoot nervous glances around as Glitch finished up. Just about every staff member here was on edge and uncomfortable - he knew how to notice these things, and it would make sense if this place really was connected to the underground. Ugh… Why did he come along with Glitch? He’d just have to hope that the second order would come soon, and then they’d be able leave just as quickly as they came in.
Naturally, as if fate itself had conspired to screw him over, he couldn’t help but pick up on ‘something’. Guards around the floor peered nervously into their phones, and most of them began rushing towards the stairwell. Glitch had noticed as well, her ears picking up on the nervous murmurings of the guards and their hasty footsteps.
“Uhh… G- Glitch, something’s happening, we should-” “Pleh! Can’t you wait just a second! The chips aren’t here yet! This isn’t-”
Before Glitch could finish her sentence, something flew into the room - the body of a security officer, clearly tossed away by some stand, flew from the entrance to the second floor, and landed right in the middle of a group of more security officers.
“Oh god oh god it’s happening oh no oh no oh no oh-” William was, as expected, positively freaking out by now. Meanwhile, Glitch was keeping her ears peeled out, having picked up on something… interesting. The voice of two people she vaguely recognized from “Taste of Fortuna” a month or so back.
“Hey! That’s Agnes! And that other chef whose food is good! Even better than the chips!! What are they doing here, fighting?!”
Soon enough, Agnes and Arpeggi really did pop into the room, their stands summoned as they staved off some guards with them. Much to William’s chagrin, Glitch grabbed onto his hand and summoned [Vida Loca], before hopping onto it, the massive feline hoisting him onto it as well, before running right towards the source of the commotion…
And right into the footpath of a terrifying giant who seemed to suddenly fall from the ceiling, several eyes along its body looking to them as its head rotated 180 degrees. “Well, wouldn’t you like to know?”
Several minutes earlier, A Few Stories Lower - Sound’s Garden Abandoned Subway
“Are you sure this is the place? Seems pretty fucking trashy to me, honestly…”
“That’s what makes it a secret passage, Agnes… They’re not exactly rolling out the red carpet to tell you how to get there.”
“Ugh, Astronomia wasn’t built for this shit. You’re paying if something gets stuck somewhere.”
“You’ve crashed it how many times this month alone?”
Arpeggi Osso Buco sat in the sidecar of a motorbike driven by one Ananas “Agnes” Bayley, through the abandoned subways of the Eastern strip. He’d meant to take this trip alone, like he had before, but of course, this fucking guy had to be the first on the team to learn that he was a Stand User, an active vigilante, and not only in part responsible for a certain cult’s influence plummeting to nothing in Los Fortuna, but had dedicated himself to making an enemy of the blight of the Entertainment District.
“Fuck it, I’m down.”
“You’re… What?”
“I’m down. Fuck those guys. I don’t even need to ask any more questions, they’re an absolute disgrace to be shown up by a real villain, and if you’re hunting their boss down, I’m with you.”
“You are the last person I would want watching my back in a-”
“Or I can tell Gabanna what you’re doing so soon after getting SHOT last time you tried your luck with these guys.”
“…bastard. Okay, just don’t get in the way.”
Minus a near-scare with RCR’s nightmarish train nearly running them down without noticing, and Arpeggi having to explain at some point that it was both private information from a set of informants and news now publicly printed in multiple sources about the higher-ups of this organization, it had mostly gone smoothly since then.
As they drove closer to the underside of Heartache, Arpeggi signaled for Agnes to stop, noting a destroyed set of hollowed-out mannequins of sorts, smoking and smelling like gunpowder.
“Hell is that?” Agnes asked, looking down, but Arpeggi, in turn, didn’t quite seem surprised. Before he could explain, however, another, distorted voice cut through.
“You’re late.”
The revving of a second motorcycle, a sport bike, had quietly synced with Astronomia, and the pair looked up to see a figure clad in orange and black, winglike scarf drooping upside-down, its rider atop the ceiling of the tunnel.
“You.” Agnes spoke with contempt, despite having never seen the Black Angel in person before, only for them and their bike to drop down right in front of them, flipping in midair to land gracefully.
“You didn’t tell me you were bringing a friend, let alone… Him.” The Angel sounded dubious about Agnes’ presence, adding, “since you took time picking him up, I’ve had to start picking off these weird… hollow doll-guards myself. They almost noticed me in time to signal the boss. I really don’t have the time for this today.”
“Sorry about that, he insisted,” Arpeggi wrote off, not wanting to explain the somewhat unsurprising (“ran into one another while doing their vigilante rounds, got to talking about the ED mainly”) story how he and the Angel met, “and he’s here right now… Say what you like about him, you saw that Being So Normal, I assume. He’ll be an asset.”
“I’ll kick your ass-et,” Agnes grumbled, “fighting them alone my ass. Ugh, teaming up with masked hero types like this… Pisses me off. We should be kicking each other’s asses, Angel.”
“Deal with it,” the Angel wrote off, before adding, “our contacts in there… They said basically everyone we might have any reason to get is on that floor with them, watching Downtown.”
“Right, some madman is acting out there,” Arpeggi noted, folding his arms and looking Westward, “I take it that’s why you’re in a hurry? You want to deal with them quickly and head out there next?”
“You got it,” they answered, “and admittedly, there’s a reason I had to come here first… Something I’m going to prioritize the highest, and if we take too long, I’ll have to leave having only done that.”
“You’ve got a grudge, is that it?” Agnes asked, “you wanna punt some fucker before moving on?”
“That’s… not why I’m targeting him,” The Angel noted, before adding, “that sword the Conqueror Worm always has on him… The ‘Sword of Sir Aurel…’ The future of the city might depend on me getting that Downtown. The contacts say he still has it with him, just like on that stream.”
“You’re pissing me off, pretending you don’t care about just one-upping that bastard,” Agnes chided, adding, “act like you’re ‘heroes of justice’ all you want… I’m doing this because these guys piss me the hell off, and seeing them fall will make me laugh. Do all of us a favor, cut the bullshit, and admit you’re gonna enjoy this, yeah?”
The others didn’t say too much more of note, then, beyond the Angel briefly examining Astronomia, putting something all over it that they claimed would ‘make it maneuver better,’ which Arpeggi had to calm Agnes into accepting, especially considering it meant they could ride up stairs with relative ease.
“Alright, from this secret passage, it’s a straight shot up a few flights of stairs to the VIP room… We should be able to burst it down without ever disrupting all the public patrons and fortifications up on 1F. Hold on tight, you got that?”
The motorbikes revved, then, and the Angel’s led Agnes in seeming to leap into the air, driving up and along the walls of the stairwell, before a long-haired figure emerged from the Angel, aiming something at a metal reinforced door, firing into it a few times, and it shifted in place as Pork Soda rushed towards it, placing a tab on the material before ripping it away, liquid metal blasting in the opposite direction the door would fly and swing at rapid speed, swinging like a deadly projectile and cutting more powerful puppet guards away as the three burst in.
Arpeggi called out, “All that you’ve done ends here, Fox!”
Not long after Arpeggi called that out, Fox himself, of course, was quick to stand, as were a few bold-looking members of the crowd, hurrying towards the fighters with his own accompanying doll-guard, small enough to hold in two hands and, with his large frame, swing like a hammer-thrower, lobbing up towards them and bursting open into a mess of pointed rocks as he drew closer, repelling Arpeggi’s immediate attempts to approach.
The swinging door, embedded with odd screws and still gushing metal soda, began to fly towards him, only for the sound of a rifle to fill the room, a single warping bullet putting out every one of the odd screws and careening it to strike Arpeggi back, sending him flying down the stairwell before either the Angel or Agnes could react.
Seido, sitting at his edge of the bar, finished downing his drink, holding his weapon in one hand and grinning a bit, slurring slightly, “thas’ goin’ on your tab, boss…”
Fox smirked, then, rocks and sand swirling around him and beating back the remaining attackers’ efforts to burst forward. “Let’s not fight up here, gentlemen… I’ve set this place up nice for a very special guest. Take it downstairs. Seido, consider yourself on the clock now.”
Worm, then, seemed to realize the Angel was staring at his movements, diving down into the floor below to the terror of the 1F patrons, and the rider hurriedly cut away from the clash, leaving Agnes to fend for himself against the rocky onslaught of Fox, all while Oh No watched and Seido, quickly, lined up another shot. Even on this upgraded bike, he knew the only response to make there. “Fffuck this!”
Pork Soda reached for Astronomia, a tab appearing on its wheel which, as the Stand weathered rocky blows, it pulled, blasting Agnes back into the stairwell, where he hit the wall with an, “oof!” before hopping off of his ride, which crashed and plummeted down as he abandoned it to slide down the railing, doing a cool combat roll to cover Arpeggi and the Angel as they rolled into the first floor, clearly concerned about what Conqueror Worm being there would mean for the patrons. Fox and others were shortly behind, with a certain exception.
Though nobody could hear it, by Metra Doria’s choice, as soon as Seido had spoken that aloud, she’d kicked up the chair she’d been sulking in all ‘party’ long, a pair of headphones appearing along her neck as a blast of sonic energy kicked it directly into the head of the hitman. Her heart skipped a beat, then, and she muttered under her breath, “shit, that actually worked… I got lucky, huh?”
“Entirely,” Oh No agreed, stepping forth himself and stretching, producing a very large, intimidating revolver from his cloak and beginning, idly, to load it, “but don’t treat that as a failing, TD/MD… You saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and you had the instincts to take it.” No closed the chamber, starting leisurely towards the stairs after the rest. “This is getting tiresome, isn’t it? You see it too, how dull this has gotten… What potential they’re wasting here. What do you say we speed along what’s been a long, long time coming?”
“Well, wouldn’t you like to know?”
A golden, shining sword appeared out of the giant’s gross hand, and his presence alone made Glitch want to wretch, the smell of the Conqueror Worm fell, and vibes even more rancid.
“We got two more troublemakers here, eh?” Worm asked her and William with an amused tone, “Hell just broke loose here, and you’re tryin’ to run headlong into it! I like that! I like that drive! So what do ya say? Attacka them!”
Glitch didn’t know this guy, but something about his gleeful nature, the way that William murmured to himself in alarm when he spoke those distorted words, made her hairs stand on end, made her want to hiss and immediately turn her attention to him, and it seemed, then, that Worm could sense this.
“Another one who ain’t a fan, huh?” He shook his head. “Disappointing, but typical.”
At that, he ducked into the floor, before attempting to burst out from underneath and drive his blade up into Vida Loca, barely being scraped before hopping away from the rising attack and meeting it with a sharp, harsh claw, beating back his raw strength with her Stand’s own.
“I don’t know who you are, but you’re really not the kind of bad news that’s any fun!” Glitch called out from atop her mount, pulling off in time to avoid the ambush of a hollowed-out guard and note two others bothering William.
“That guy looks underage… He ain’t allowed to be on a casino floor without ID!” Worm declared with amusement, fully expecting what came next as several of the doll-guards attempted to strong-arm him.
“G-get away… Get away from me!” William was freaking out, then, and fairly fearing for his life, allowed Ocean Eyes to manifest, swinging and spraying acid all around, which bounced uselessly off of Worm’s hide, didn’t so much as drop near Glitch or Vida Loca, and melted away the threats in an instant.
The casino floor was pandemonium then, several high rollers, some random patrons, and of course, every named member fighting, Stands flying. Arpeggi expertly caught rocks tossed by Fox, only for him to still control them even as they were made to burn by NEXT LEVEL 2, though this eroded away much of the sands of his barrier, backed up by Agnes as he very competently kept a rocky barrier up regardless, Metra standing close by, shifting her eyes. The Black Angel tried to drive headlong into Worm, continuing his mess of a situation, while Glitch, mostly, managed to sneak off on her own, trying to find a way to support William and calm him out of whatever this was.
“Don’t move,” a modulated voice behind her said, and she heard something click behind her.
“Mrr?” She turned, then, facing the barrel of Oh No’s revolver head-on.
“This might be a bit loud… But it’s about time this ended.”
Before Glitch could react, No had pulled the trigger twice. Neither shot so much as grazed her, but seemed to hit tables, cameras, walls, ricocheting about in apparent chaos, before finally…
“I… What did…” Blood ran down the organizational ringleader’s outfit, bleeding both from a massive wound to the back of his knee and opening a massive hole in his shoulder, as the rocks he had been flinging around dropped like… Rocks.
Tigran’s voice was the next thing to ring out through the casino, now mostly abandoned bar the combatants.
“TOBY!!!”
Fox hadn’t even heard the shots fired, thanks to Metra, let alone noticed their angles; after all, the only one he knew of who could make a shot like that was knocked out and drunk upstairs, not to mention loyal to Tigran’s paychecks.
No twirled his gun around, holstering it and patting the bewildered Glitch on the shoulder. “Thanks for holding still… Didn’t want to hit you and ruin it all, after all. Hmmhmmhmahaha!"
“You… You motherfuckers!” Tigran wanted to cry then, especially as the others drew closer, seeing everyone who had fought against an ally of his here as little more than an enemy. Still, though, facing them off, he had to calm himself.
“Stand down,” Arpeggi demanded, “you’re outnumbered, completely.”
Tigran, rather than giving up, began to speak again. “You know, as the owner of this casino, I know the power of ‘games’. You see, if you call it a ‘gamble’, that sounds so… negative, no? So you call it nothing more than a simple ‘game’. That’s what draws people in. Getting people to play ‘roulette’ is harder, but if you call it a ‘roulette game’ and mask it correctly, it’s so, so, easy… However, the moment the ball is launched, it doesn’t matter, does it? No difference between a ‘gamble’ and a ‘game’... the ‘contract’ is the same - you abandon your money for ‘entertainment’ and for a slim ‘hope’ that you’ll succeed this time and make bank… It’s all thanks to these ‘games’... All of you lot, don’t you think so? Aren’t ‘games’ great? Hell, I’ve got an idea for one we can play right now…”
“Wh- what the hell are you talking about!” Arpeggi shouted out in anger. “I’m not putting up with this shit! You want a ‘game’?! Sure, fine! Here, how about this one - I go up to you, and have fun beating the shit out of you!” rushing towards Tigran, Arpeggi readied a punch and swung towards him - only for his fist to stop in midair, hitting against some kind of invisible barrier. He reeled back from the impact, stumbling backwards, feeling… weak. A look behind him revealed that Agnes, Glitch, William, and even Metra, the Angel, and No seemed to be feeling the same, struggling to remain upright.
“Y- you ‘agreed’... heh…” Tigran’s previously panicked expression quickly faded, replaced by a wide grin. “You agreed to it! You agreed to the ‘game’!” By now, Tigran broke out into uproarious laughter. “Always! They always fall for it, tempted by ‘games’! You… you idiot! I put the answer right in front of you, and you still missed it! ‘Games’, by their very nature, are tricks! Illusions! And my [The Grid] has the power to facilitate that! By agreeing to the game, my [The Grid] forces you to participate! There’s no escape now - you’re trapped in this ‘game’ of mine!”
As he realized he had screwed them all right at the last moment, Arpeggi’s vision began fading, and he fell onto the ground with a thud, blacking out.
???, an hour later, Heartache Casino VIP room
“Alright! Seems like our contestants for the first impromptu match of the day are waking up!”
“Plrrr..?” Out of nowhere, Glitch found herself standing straight, awake, somewhere unfamiliar. She tried to listen to see what was going on, only hearing the groans of William, Agnes, and Arpeggi, indicating that they were in a similar position to her. Of course, there was also that voice - she was… a ‘contestant’. It wasn’t hard to roughly figure out what exactly she was a ‘contestant’ of. She, and...
“...William!” Behind her was a whimpering noise, evidently William, and the sound of droplets of some kind of liquid splashing onto the ground, clearly [Ocean Eyes]’s acid. Ahead of her were Agnes and Arpeggi, talking between themselves about what the hell happened. Arpeggi sounded mad. Agnes… she wasn’t sure how he sounded. But she gathered enough from their conversation to understand that somehow, they were currently inside of a roulette wheel. Or rather, she, and everyone else, was shrunk, and placed into a roulette wheel.
“Now, this match is simple - a deathmatch to see who manages to survive! However, since we’re at the heartache casino… there’s an appropriate twist involved! See, our combatants for today are fighting on a roulette table, and meanwhile, our spectators for today are placing ‘bets’ to see which colors win out! Representing ‘red’, we’ve got our very own ‘Fox’! On black, meanwhile, we’ve got ‘Tigran Sins’, who set this match up!”
She summoned [Vida Loca] besides her, taking a look through the stand’s eyes and seeing the environment for herself. She was dwarfed by the room, trapped inside of this small roulette wheel. There was nowhere to run. William’s whimpers had escalated into sobbing, as [Ocean Eyes] hugged him from behind. Arpeggi and Agnes were arguing by now, shouting at each other. She took a deep breath.
“Now… I won’t keep you waiting any longer, since I just know everyone here’s excited to see what happens! So...”
First, Glitch got tossed into Los Fortuna and found a new home there, with the rest of the staff at the Elephant Bones. Then, they started getting into fights with other stand users - Shelldrake, Effie, Byte, William. She hadn’t been in one yet, but she knew very well the effects of them. Her friends had gotten hurt, some such as Father Blue even dying. Then the situation in the slums got worse, her home becoming less and less safe by the minute, her friends getting extorted and forced to work for ODIN, and now she and William were trapped here.
“Three… Two… One...”
She needed to get out. She needed to fight. She needed to win. She could overhear Agnes and Arpeggi bickering on the other side of the wheel, but knew that they were going to try and fight her and William as well. They had to. They’d been trapped by that man’s stand, and none of them knew what could be done against it, if anything.
[Vida Loca] stood behind her, a constant vibration coming out of it and creating a loud hissing noise that was soon mimicked by [Ocean Eyes], drowning out William’s sobs. She knew full well that, even if he was her friend, William was also a dangerous killer, meek though he might have acted. As hard as that whole situation was to grasp, she understood something else - that the more she stayed near [Ocean Eyes], working alongside it, the safer she was. She and William had to get out of this. And if they wanted to get out of this...
They would have to fight for their lives.

(credit to magistelles for the image, both the censored and uncensored version!(CW: trypophobia))
Location: A roulette wheel in Heartache Casino, upon which players have been forcibly placed.
The map here is roughly similar to the image of the roulette wheel above. The outer brown layer represents the rim, the yellow layer being the wooden slopes down towards the center, the black layer being the numbers, the red layer being the pockets, the next layer being sloped wood up towards the center, and the center being a metal tower.
The map is 30 by 30 meters relative to the players, with the dotted tile being 5 by 5 meters.
The diamonds are the metal bumpers, about half a meter tall, and the blue circle is a weighted metal roulette ball which is a meter tall, both heights relative to the players.
The metal tower in the center is 8 meters tall relative to the players and the outside walls are 5 meters relative to the players. Players can not go past the rim of the roulette wheel.
Goal: RETIRE your opponents!
Additional Information:
There is an invisible barrier keeping the players and their Stands inside the roulette wheel. Everything else will pass through as normal, but the players and their attacks will be blocked by this barrier. The barrier is cylindrical around the entire roulette wheel.
The roulette system is currently automatic, 5 seconds after the ball falls into a pocket or stops moving entirely, it will start rolling again at top speed clockwise. The max speed of the ball is equivalent to B SPD and the ball is A DUR. You can expect it to make around 8 revolutions around the wheel before losing most of its speed if it is unimpeded by the players.
If the ball is destroyed or unable to roll, a new one will be thrown in from outside.

LENOVO Legion 7i Personal Review - After 10 Days ~

LENOVO Legion 7i Personal Review - After 10 Days ~
Good day, buddy.

https://preview.redd.it/gw0498y8y3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8ee834997cda2a3f226b276b41ae361d979a129c
First of all, this laptop is purchased using my own money and not sponsored (i hope someone can spend this for me, lol) , and this is not my first laptop (or gaming laptop), i love gadget and like to try something new (only the moment when i have some spare money), therefore, this review may contain some experience from my past used laptop, thus, nothing will be professional here as I dont install any benchmarking tools or show you any result point that comparing here and there :( I can only provide my real world use experience. My apologize ~

Here is my Legion 7i specification :

Intel Core i7 - 10875H (8-C / 16 T) 2.3Ghz Base, Turbo-Boost up to 5.1Ghz (only below 65'c, 4.9Ghz if above that)
16GB DDR4 3200MHz (Factory overclocked, 6-Core Model like 10750H will only run 2933Mhz)
1TB PCIE SSD (Samsung PM981a)
RTX2060 - 6GB GDDR6 (2020 Refreshed Version, 110W)
Vapor Chamber Cooling + Dual 12V Fan with ultra thin fan blade

3.5mm audio jack

Talking about to choose a right spec for the Legion 7i was a painful experience, the Lenovo Malaysia website showing lot of confusing data ! There has alot of misleading specification in the page ! (After searching online, found out not only Malaysia, other country get same as well !) I end up waited another 3 weeks just to get the right model i wanted, and sold the earlier ordered unit when it come !

If you want to purchase this model, beware of some confusion :

1: Vapor Chamber Cooling is only available for 8-Core processor model (10875H) or RTX2070 graphic card above (model : 81YU, or 15IMHg05) ! (For Malaysia) Mean if you purchase 4 core model (like earlier 10300H Model +1660Ti) or 6 core 10750H + RTX2060 , you will get normal heat pipe cooling instead of vapor chamber ! I know it only after i sold my previous Legion 7i, which i sold it because of no G-Sync, i though it will come with Vapor Chamber, but not !

2: G-Sync only available for 8-Core model - 15IMHg05 (but not all 8-Core Model in some country) and with 144Hz display ! 240Hz display will get NO G-Sync ! Which is why i sold my 1st Legion 7i after known this issue, i sold it because it already shipped and can't cancel !

3: 240Hz Display get 100% sRGB, not 100% Adobe RGB ! The 240Hz display get lesser color than 144Hz one, and the 300nits +144hz version also come with 100% sRGB, but i cant confirm the 300nits got G-Sync or not, since all 8-core model come with 500nits display. (Some country mention that the 300nits display come with g-Sync, but only 8-Core CPU model)

4: Per Key RGB - All Legion 7i come with per key RGB, not 4-Zone RGB. Lenovo Malaysia show "4-Zone RGB" for all pre-built model included 8-Core high end model is false info. Only Custom built model it show "RGB Key Slate" Thats why i made mistake during 1st purchase !

5: DDR4 3200Mhz RAM is only available for 10875H (8-Core) model, the system come with 3200MHz out of the box, no setting required. For 6 and 4 Core model, 3200Mhz ram are installed but it will only run 2933Mhz.

6: Dont forget to choose model that come with "Free Microsoft Office" which cost RM467 ! Else, you will get Office Trial ! Normally, you can only get this select on custom built unit (Which you need to click on the office bundle during customization) . Like my model, it have 2 model number, 1 doesn't have Free Office . 81YU003MMJ will come with Office while 81YU003VMJ did not. ( Please use https://psref.lenovo.com/ to search "Legion 7" , filter the region/country to Malaysia, and get the model number with Office bundle, and add the model number in cart by using (quick add to cart), check out and you will get the free Office.

So, please choose carefully base on your need.

Quality, design, size & weight

I admit that i was a Apple fan during 2000 to something 2015, as on those day, the built quality of windows laptop just can't stand close to Mac, the awful look, bulky size, terrible track pad, dull color screen, bad battery life, below average speaker. Apple built good quality laptop especially in Steve's era, the Unibody design still look great and stable even by today standard. But recent years, Windows laptop has come closer to the gaps, some manufacture has really great quality laptop, the Lenovo Legion are one of it.

https://preview.redd.it/8pdicy3qy3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f2be784cfe6d5a69505837f91ee12ef3a1f51ed9

If you ask me to purchase Legion Y-Series before Y530, i wouldn't want to consider it, no, they are good, but just not good as after that. The look are very gamer's, the red and blue color like the laptop are from spaceship or UFO, and they usually quite bulky to name it laptop.

Thanks to Tim-Cooking Apple up, the price of Mac become more expensive, some more, the specification is making it more hard to choose. I use to gaming in a Mac, since i am not a hardcore gamers, most games i like can run in my previous 2013 15"MBP quite well, not until Apple choose AMD Discrete Graphics Card for all of it pro model, it just painful slow compare to nVidia, but wait, you must say i am dumb ass as no body will game on a Mac ! Yes, i admit that, but i like the stability of OS X (Now MacOS) , how convenience to do some serious work with the OS than Windows, and i can have both Windows and MacOS in one devices really a gain on that time. A simple restart will give you a premium PC Laptop, why not?

During 2017, i give up the MBP15 and try PC Laptop, as Windows 10 is getting better and more user friendly than before, the Legion y530 catch my attention, the built quality for plastic is simply amazing, the hardware also work very well, it make me hat off for a PC laptop, really. I know there has some brand make great laptop too. I like the way that Lenovo blend the professional look on their Legion line-up, it is so great that you can bring it to office and not forfeited the gaming ability at night.

https://preview.redd.it/4vcobxkwy3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5c890ca54b3d93eef43da528084022b27862e8bd
The Legion 7i come with the same family slang, the look are so muted during working time which only surprise you after the RGB lighting come on at night. It is great that Lenovo stick to previous design language, the Legion 7i look really premium and professional during day time. The Aluminum quality is great, but not smooth as Apple did. The surface has some rough feeling when you touch it for the first time, it like feel a raw aluminum without smooth finished, but i found out this actually an advantage after several day of usage, it did not record finger print ! Like some aluminum laptop eg Razer, the smooth aluminum actually catch a lot of finger print and skin oil.

Some ppl report that their unit has trackpad gaps, but i don't see my unit has such defect. The hinge is firm but still able to open with 1 hand, the back ccover is made of aluminum and the joint part between upper chassis is solid, no gaps and it is very straight. The build quality really up standard, and there is very little flex in whole chassis, same does the very thin aluminum screen (Thinner than Legion 5), it is very solid. Just that, since it is not built from a solid aluminum block like Razer and Mac, when you hold it, you can still feel some "free gaps" between screen and keyboard area but there has no cracking or squeezing noise, to me, it still a very much improvement, consider the price i paid.

https://preview.redd.it/0mxuxlpxy3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a2f945745f7ca6225b63317bb8ea1191e885722
This 15 inches laptop feel slim when hold it up, and the weight is fair consider the hardware and performance it packed, the thickness is somewhere like first Retina MacBook Pro 15 announced on 2012, and the weight is 2.15kg. It will be 3kg plus if included the slim 230W charger, which also Lenovo slim it very much this year, the last 230W charger ship with Y530 & Y7000 was like a brick ! Considering we got 8-Core processor, a many times powerful graphic card, 1TB of storage, in this thickness is insane compare to past ! Imagine that you get so much power on the same chassis in 2012 !

The port placement also very friendly, Lenovo put those cable-needed like power port and network port at the back of the laptop is a smart choice to me, as it will be so convenience to manage those messy cable. They arent forgot to place some port in left and right part also, which is really convenience ! Whats more, this laptop come with 5 USB port !!! Which is really a day when you want to transfer something, plug the mouse, this and that. There has 2 USB C on the left side, 1 are the thunderbolt , which also can use as USB 3, and there has a very good amount of space between 2, mean you easily plug 2 USB C at the same time.

https://preview.redd.it/i735rz81z3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a81dd60e158c3c7aa7f24597fa1951ac4440e1e6
I also want to point out something that really good are, the back side of the laptop are using plastic rather than aluminum, which is good as i dont have to worry about scratching everytime i plug or unplug something, and the symbol actually light up, i can see it very clear that what port it is, this is the premium that 5i/5Pi don't have. Overall, the design should be very comfortable to majority of user, and the size & weight is fair consider the hardware it packed, nothing can be picky against it.

Screen, Keyboard, RGB, Trackpad, Speaker, webcam

The screen is the main point sold me in for this laptop ! When i purchase Y7000SE last year, i have miss the ship to own Y740, as it only come out after i got my Y7000. As a person who come from Mac, i really want a good screen, this laptop has a very good quality 1, and it has fast refresh rate !

Lenovo advertise that this laptop pack with bright 500nits matte screen, i dont have the true number for my screen as i dont have device to measure it, but it is super bright ! I will not set the brightness over 50% during normal use, as it is more than enough even use below LED bulb environment at my office, it really bright ! I will need to set at least 80% brightness on my previous Y530/Y7000 to read the content clearly at the same environment. It should be enough if want to use it in outdoor.

https://preview.redd.it/mojlr6v4z3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3797c173d368ef4d6d9397553a15a54a60902f8d
My display manufacture are AUO 038E , and it has very great color accuracy out of the box, well, same does brightness, i dont have any device to test "how accurate" it has, it does come with X-Rite software out of the box which you can choose few profile from sRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3 and Rec.709. I upload a same picture to the laptop and compare with my Note 10 plus, the color are very close, the skin tune are more natural, the color is vivid, the cloud in sky look more detail between sky. so i assume it has alot better color than my previous laptop, i even put the same MacOS wallpaper like my MacBook Pro to try, it look really close to Mac ! Compare to my previous Y530/Y7000 (both are 300nits + 144hz panel), it is night and day different. So, i am very happy to it. When the first power on, the X-Rite software has an option "restore display profile" which sound like it will download the display profile for your exact screen from Lenovo server, which it will set within few sec, i tried and it did change my display color little bit.

The HDR also work as advertise, the Youtube HDR content show very vivid color, and the black is deeper. Just that, Windows 10 built-in color management really bad, you can have different color in different program, you can see 2 type of color if you open a same image using 2 different software, say, a Chrome and Photos ? Both photo shown slightly different color. Overall, i will still rate it a premium screen !

The 144hz refresh rate also make thing smooth no matter you are on desktop or scrolling webpages in chrome, it just - smooth. I get the same feeling from my previous Y530 and Y7000, you wouldn't want to go back once you have high refresh display. But, the built in G-Sync make thing even better, i turn G-Sync on for all fullscreen apps (you can set it on nVidia Control Panel), and the games i play is much more smoother than before, games like CS-GO, GTA V, Forza Horizon 4 look smooth, from sudden fast moving object to slow walk in combat, you can really tell the different between G-Sync or not, it really made my day each time i play games from this laptop. You should really get this option if you want smooth gaming experience, this make me feel like million worth choosing 7i than 5i/5Pi. I will cap the max frame rate to 144hz on some games (Like Battle Field V) to fully utilize this display. Anyway, my graphic card is "just" a entry level for RTX , i have no regret to choose 144hz over 240hz since most graphic intensive games will not able to hit that number from this RTX2060, i will rather buy 144Hz + G-Sync than 240Hz without G-Sync. 144hz is more than enough for casual gamer like me, unless your eyes really up to 240Hz level to get some one headshot before they saw you  The built in Lenovo Vantage software also allow you to enable "Over Drive" mode for the display, which say can further lower the response time, which i see no different between on and off, maybe my eyes arent fast as the screen, lol.

https://preview.redd.it/7rtwkf76z3i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f8df8ca92fd3682211184faed6621418c05bf47b
Now come with the keyboard, well, Lenovo make really good keyboard, not mention their Thinkpad line-up, the Legion 7i keyboard also very very good. The keyboard travel in my previous Y530/Y7000 are longer, but the feedback is very clear in Legion 7i, and the key is much more stable than it, and also sound lot quieter. The key cap is flat to me, i like the 1 in 5/5i/5Pi which the key cap slightly curved, your finger is landed comfortable than this, maybe they want to have slim chassis, so has to built slim keyboard, curved design may not able to make it here. You will be fine after few minutes of type to accept the 1.3mm travel, when gaming, each key strike is very accurate, i did't face any error like i do in MacBook Pro previously. I get not register when i gaming in my previous MacBook Pro, but not this Laptop, and my previous Y530/Y7000 also working very well. But i still can't use to the new arrow key layout, it just place too low for me, i always need to low down my hand to get arrow key, and it keep pressing aluminum instead of left or right key, well, maybe it is more focus on gaming side, or maybe i am too get used of normal laptop keyboard layout. One thing great are the Fn key can be set to "Lock" , which you dont need to keep pressing Fn to adjust volume or brightness , it will lock the function key, a missing feature i need on my previous Y530/Y7000, the Thinkpad series has this but now also come with Legion. When you press Fn, the blue light will light up the part of function available on the keyboard, show you clearly what function available, a nice touch !

https://preview.redd.it/7ylkiq8334i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0905db7bcc12e5a1ac825a5e8ef6ab07dffd8b84
The RGB led is super bright ! Like the screen, it is more than double bright than what Y530/Y7000 offer ! It has 3 bright level to adjust (4 level if including Off) , the y530/Y7000 only has 2 level. Even i set to minimum level, it still very bright on some color setting, say - ocean blue and pink. Luckily, you can turn it dimmer using iCUE software customization, you can set the "Opacity" slider lower to dim it down further, the slider has way more level, which you can actually more level to control brightness than using Lenovo own keyboard hot key (Fn+ up or down ). I also found that it actually brighter if you turn the "Opacity" in ICUE ! Mean it more than more brighter than out of the box ! It can even make your screen look colorful karaoke when you turn off your room light, that level of bright ! The preloaded rainbow spiral light effect will also turn on everytime you turn on the laptop, this is quite annoying as when you turn on your laptop in office, it will spin like funfair until log in to Windows and iCUE is loaded. Although you can also turn it to other mode or off by quickly press Fn+Space or Fn+Down few times, but it is quite annoying as you will need to press each time you turn on the laptop, hopefully Lenovo will fix this by update the BIOS in the future. (But Y740 face the same issue which does't solve until now). Otherwise if you really like those RGB, this laptop can make you fun, and the setting inside ICUE is million way to customize, you can stack each effect to each other as much as you can ! I am stacking 10 lighting effects in 1 profile. Something like you can have few effect on each key or section of the keyboard, you can set multiple key in multiple opacity (dim or bright) of you can set multiple effect for any key , any section, all load at once. You can spend many hours just to customize the light ! The light bar below the front side look cool when you put the laptop in glass surface as it will reflect the bar toward you. The exhaust vent at the back also very bright even you turn to min, when turn to max, it can light up anything surrounding it at night. Well, i am so fresh to RGB, i love the effect but i dont use it very much, but left it run some during not using the laptop can made up your mood.

The trackpad is very good, the sensitivity is great, the tracking is quite accurate also, above average standard, BUT, yes, a big BUT. But the clicking sound is very loud, it sound like light switch, it do click almost entire surface, but like most of the diving board style trackpad, the upper part will need to press harder, whats more, the trackpad will have some flex when press hard (but not diving), i can feel that the trackpad surface are made of quite thin plastic, thats why i can feel the flex of it in the middle part. And the surface material is made of Mylar , though it is smooth to use but i afraid it may wear out faster than glass type, but still, it get the job done when you need it. While gaming, i always use bluetooth mouse, so, it will not annoying me very much. If want the best trackpad experience, only Apple ForceTouch Trackpad has no body come close kind of it, but you will pay way more than this, many times more.

Laptop speaker has never made me love it, they usually sound flat and less volume, as a person come from a MacBook Pro (both 13 and 15" Touchbar) before, i still haven hear any windows laptop that sound like Apple, they are like Rolls-Royce's class in laptop speaker. Well, i can't compare it, as each company has their invention section, but Windows laptop really need to spend more time on speaker, just like the display and design, they actually keep up quite a bit compare to last few years. Say 5 years ago, Gaming laptop usually get very bad screen and bulky case, but today they have much better screen and nice looking, i wish it will be the same story for speaker. It will be perfect when a great gaming laptop has good screen, proper nice casing, good keyboard, and a very best speaker. But i am asking too much for it, as i know it everyone will be say : It is too expensive for an Windows Laptop ! Well, so we have to take some compromise if we want something affordable :console:

Legion 7i speaker is loud, clear, and no unwanted noise even crank up to max, which can hear that it contain quite a quality speaker, although they are very tiny left and right box (can see from those tear down video in youtube). At 40% volume, you can hear basically any dialog in games, there has even some audible low bass. iIf you crank more than 60%, you will hear only mid-high range, and you wouldnt want to crank more than 80%, as it will be very loud to listen. You can use it as media consumption like Youtube or Netflix, you will hear voice clearly even in mid noisy environment, but dont expect you will hear an helicopter vrooming from back or front even Lenovo (or some manufacture) keep mention it got Dolby sound effect, those speaker just to tiny to sound, you will need an headphone if you want to get those effect, but i rather suggest you to go for proper AV setup for your living room if you really want to get in such result, dont expect much from a laptop. If you are casual gamer or music lover like me, any external speaker will sound good enough.

The Webcam placement also improved for this model, unlike last gen of Legion, the "nose" cam ppl called. Well, i did'nt use webcam very much, so i dont mind for that, same does the Legion 7i. The quality for my eyes is fine, nothing special to talk about, it just like an average laptop webcam, well, it just a webcam, it will get your job done in very normal way. Unless you want to take selfie with it, you better use your phone. The built in mic were also average, nothing fancy about it like MacBook Pro 16", not even that level

Performance, temperature, fan noise, and battery life

For RM400 more, you will get 8-Core instead of 6, which one will you consider ? The 10750H model cost RM7999 and my model cost RM8399 both RRP without discount. I know you will be saying like hey, the AMD 4800H is way cheaper than Intel 10875H, and it has more performance and run cooler (due to 7nm), you can just go for Legion 5 for 8-Core, why need to spend that much of extra money for 7i ? Well, i got what you mean, which i actually consider this before i purchase this laptop. I went to Lenovo website almost everyday to customize and compare, the AMD model get awful screen, less powerful graphic card, and well, i came from y530 and y7000, i tried the plastic built laptop before, they are great but i need something premium built, and whats more, i really want a great display which Legion 5 dont offer that. The processor is only internal but the screen you have to view it everyday, i wish Lenovo have AMD version of this laptop but wait, is Intel really that bad ? Well, it may sound less performance and awful temperature (really ? more on that later) after recent AMD hit, but at least, it run stable on my many previous laptop, it as great reliability history (at least for me), it never fail me yet.

I am not tech professional here so i cant show you a fancy bench mark for comparing, but base on my usage, i am comparing my previous Y7000, which has 6-Core i7 9750H, 16GB of 2666 DDR4, same RTX2060 (but in 80 or 90W variant as i remember) , same Samsung PM981a 1TB NvME SSD, same 144hz refresh rate display, i feel the Legion 7i run much more faster than it.

https://preview.redd.it/cv44jxck34i51.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=871b023457c7558da96913a5d2f0ed7044fe4159
It run even cooler during low load task compare to Y7000, it will not pass 55'c, and the processor use only 20 to 45W (mostly 20) in Auto Mode i assume that due to extra core, and i monitor there has not much than 35% load average for 1 hours of few tab chrome browsing, youtube video running. Everything feel snappier, and game load much faster. I spotted it hit 5.0Ghz quite frequently from HWiNFO.

https://preview.redd.it/ry6ku02r34i51.png?width=584&format=png&auto=webp&s=395042cd74f247be525d01ec4d62b7d7ef631c66
Switching to Performance mode, what amazed me is for the first time, i can install 2 games at once at the background and i can still use Chrome with multiple tabs (with youtube somemore) without any lag detected, the system is like fresh start. There has 2x 60GB games unpacking (from *ehemm Fit ehemm girl) simultaneously in the background, with Chrome running, the first minute of two, the processor crank up to 107W, and stay 85W for the rest until the unpack finish. during 107W, i spotted all-8 core running 4.8Ghz steady for many seconds, and 4.3 to 4.5ghz all-8 core for whole session, this is unbelievable for the first time i seen in laptop, and this thin of laptop ! I spend about 40 mins to done unpacking TWO! 60GB games ! I remember i spend about 30 mins per games in my last Y7000 , and i already jaw-dropping to see how fast of 9750H is on that time, this laptop lagi kuat ! Even all core is 100% load, the temperature is hovering between 82 to 87c', it seems to be pretty impressive.

https://preview.redd.it/x9esdvqt34i51.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=d37f1fcf3275f99a3f775d257adcd241e7d6dc2e

Well, the RTX2060 in this laptop is insanely powerful, from some rough in game benchmark, it is about 15 to 25% more performance than RTX2060 in Y7000 ! Some games like Battle Field V run very smooth even with RTX on, i got average of 73FPS with all setting set to ultra and HDR on ! The G-Sync make the game run even smoother. 1 thing quite surprise me is that this card actually run much higher clock speed than i expected, it hit 1920Mhz core and 5410mhz memory shown in HWiNFO ! I dont believe my eyes for the data, as last year my Y7000 only run at something 1250 to 1500mhz as i remember. Whats more, it can be overclock further using MSI Afterburner to 2055Mhz Core / 5710Mhz Memory (+155 Core / +300 Memory) give me another 5-7% boost in games. I saw 7% more on Forza Horizon 4 ! It run average of 90FPS with Max out setting on 1920x1080 Resolution, as you can see, this card actually perform very well, even it is years old of technology, i believe it can stand maybe extra 2-3 years more.

During "Silent Mode", the fan is quiet, even "Auto Mode" if you doing light load like browsing and watching video, the laptop still very quiet, until you run some intensive task, the fan is audible then, but still, nothing about level of loud, bear in mind that from my observation, in Auto Mode, the PL1 power limit is set to 60W, and PL2 is 107W, so you will still get decent performance in Auto Mode, same does the fan noise, it can be range from quiet to audible, but not as loud as Performance mode, which set the PL1 to 85W, while the PL2 stay 107W.
In performance mode, the laptop act very differently, unlike previous Y530 or Y7000, you actually can feel the different very much, and if you observe the processor speed, it always stay above 4Ghz range. If your load is light, even in performance mode, the laptop will still stay quiet, until you load the games, the fan noise will be maximum. It is loud, but not sharp like some other laptop. What you hear the loud is the "Air Sound" squeezing from the vent, the noise is from the friction created by the air with the vent, sound Whoosh ~ not Pzzzz, so, it is acceptable to me. If you put your hand to feel the air from the vent, you can actually see how powerful are the both fan inside, you can still feel the air even 6 to 7 inches behind the vent, like that powerful. Lenovo stated that the fan are now power directly from main supply, which is 12V, and the fan blade is super thin, which i can verify it, it really powerful fan, much much powerful than the Y530 and Y7000. The amount of air is noticeably more. If you really mind about the fan noise during gaming, you will need an headphone. But, the built in speaker actually cover up the noise quite well, any volume above 50% will cover the max fan noise, nothing worry bout that.
Due to the laptop is made of aluminum in majority of part, it can be very warm during normal use, although you will only saw 43~55'c in HWiNFO monitor app. The palm rest stay cool even full load, but the upper part of the keyboard can be very hot to touch, same does the backside plastic panel, the power input port were also hot, the laptop can pull 200-210W total system power during very heavy load. The keyboard area stay comfortable no matter you are gaming or exporting video, which is quite amazing consider it is aluminum. The heat also dispense very quick by the 2 very powerful fan, after load it only take not more than a minutes for cooling down. The backcover can be uncomfortable even in light load, you wont want this laptop on your lap, really. So, dont expect to put on your lap during heavy load.

I didnt able to undervolt it until i learn the way to get in advance BIOS in Reddit, the first few days i am using my laptop without undervolt, get me the temp max at 94'c in CPU, and 69'c in GPU. You might say, wow, 94'c is very hot ! But wait, the 94'c actually come from the first minute when the processor crank up to 107W which is 5.1Ghz power, after the PL2 107W, it only stay between 83-87'c during continue of 85W all-8 core 100% load @ 4.3 to 4.6ghz ! The processor did thermal throttling when it reach 94'c, but i found no more throttling after PL2, during 85W of load, the processor stay below 88'c, which is quite impressive consider the thickness of laptop. Well, some might say 88'c still hot when this laptop has vapor chamber cooling, but if you look some review from youtube, the Razer use the same 8-core 10875H processor like this actually run cooler, ya, but if you read properly, Razer actually turn down the clock speed quite abit to 3.plus ghz, they arent run at full all core speed. The Legion 7i actually stay above 4Ghz, this create lot of heat compare to that, so you got to pay attention for this.

I am not an Intel or Lenovo fan boy, this laptop did run hot compare to, say, AMD laptop. This is due to the limitation of 14nm technology, intel only upgrade clock speed within this few generation of processor, it may seems not impressive if we compare to AMD, i can't blame Lenovo here, as they really doing very good job for cooling, especially this model, the Legion 7i. The continue load of 85W + 30W RTX2060 (Hybrid mode off) stay below 90'c are quite impressive, my previous Y7000 can only stay below 50W if want to maintain below 90'c, this is out of the box setting, no undervolting applied. So the Vapor Cooling + 12V fan system actually handle more than 100W of heat, imagine that if this laptop using AMD 7nm or Intel coming 10nm of processor ? The performance increase will be huge !

https://preview.redd.it/abfr98x954i51.jpg?width=1632&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bd7176cb94f3d5f8ad551b71cf8882e372052623
Take Forza Horizon 4 gaming session 40 mins for example, the HWinFo shown that the RTX2060 pull up to 109W (without GPU overclocked), CPU pull up-to 79W ! The average gpu power is 79W, and CPU is 60W, the total system power draw is 218W, the GPU temp shot up to 68'c while the CPU run up to 91'c. Next is Battle Field V, with all setting to max and RTX on, this is by far the heavies load for game i have seen, it pull the RTX2060 to 114W (!!!) , but the CPU pull only 69W, but the average was quite high at 63W while the GPU is lower at 72W. The system also run hot in Battle Field V, CPU hit up to 93'c, and GPU come at 71'c. The average temperature for CPU is 84'c while the GPU is 66'c.

I got the way to enable XTU interface thru Advance BIOS mode, and try to undervolt the system. The first attempt are -0.145v (which same as my previous Y7000 and Y530 value) , first hours is okay until i reboot the system, it stuck at blank screen for 2 minutes, the system auto goes to BIOS healing mode (another good from Lenovo, i feel so nervous before the healing show up), the BIOS then back to factory mode and disable the XTU, all thing reset to normal. I then tried few setting, -0.135, -0.125, -0.120, none of it work stable, the system will freeze and give the blank screen again on next startup, and the BIOS healing itself again. The final working 1 is -0.115v, which work beautiful until today, no problem. 1 thing to mention that the Advance BIOS has lot of tweaking menu from Overclocking the CPU to RAM, to adjust system power level, but i dont touch anything as i am not understand it, afraid of flied my laptop, but it really has many engineer option to tweak, beware to set it unless you really understand what you doing.

I am at BIOS 2.02 (updated once), the XTU still available, and the Advance BIOS still working. I can see this laptop are so great for those who want to tweak this and that.

After undervolting, the temperature did goes down few degree but not as much as my previous Y7000 and Y530, the Y7000 for example, before undervolting can goes as high as 99'c ! Maybe the extra core need more power to feed, but still, it lower down 4 'c in Forza Horizon, and 5'c in Battle Field V, although it will increase few 'c back after GPU overclocked, but, better than no. I also noticed the undervolting made 107W stay longer , mean the CPU can boost up to 5Ghz longer (some times 5.1Ghz, but only a sec). Next, the overclock GPU does made the temperature hotter, by 3 'c for CPU, and 2'c for GPU. The Forza Horizon 4 ramp the GPU to 70'c, and pull 113W (before is 109w) graphic power, the total System power draw were also increase to 223W, which nearly the power adapter 230W limit !

The CPU will still hit 90'c during 107W of boost (5.0Ghz), but compare to 94'c before undervolt, it seems to be quite impressive, consider my last Y7000 crank to 4.06ghz only for this temp. Overall, like i said, the Lenovo Legion 7i has a very capable cooling solution, i bet if AMD use the same 14nm technology in this kind of setup will also generate the same result. But the performance gain is noticeable if we compare what they offer from last year. I see we actually get the same temperature number as last year Y740 (from youtube review) but the processor are now 2-core extra, hit up to 5.1ghz with 107W, and the graphic card now pull 110W instead of 80~90W, anything below 90'c to me consider fair, as it still bring me really good day to day and gaming performance.
For 80Whr battery, Lenovo claim that the Legion 7i can goes up to 8 hours of juice, but well, i of caused take that as a advertising candy. With current intel technology, it quite a hard task to make laptop that efficiency like AMD 4000 series did. I did't expect much about this as i moving between office and home everyday and i dont use laptop in mobile like some user do. I get about 7 hours battery life with 40% brightness , Utorrent running downloading with WiFi, RGB light off , Silent mode, that is without iCUE software running, as before i receive my laptop, some user from internet complaining that iCUE drain lot of battery so i disable it to run on startup, only run manually when i need it, no uninstalling needed, just disable it at start up option will be very fine. I also observe that when iCUE is running, it drain extra 15W on top of system power, it can drain as much as 50W even in Silent Mode, so that is really a problem for iCUE, i think they (lenovo or iCUE) will fix that soon by updating the software.
If browsing web something like Youtube running and multiple tab scrolling with 40% of brightness will get you about 5.5 hours of use, not impressive but as expected from such hardware. Some more, the 40% screen brightness is brighter than lot of laptop out there, it still more than comfortable to read, i assume it is somethimg 200 to 250nits of brightness, as it is very bright to use, even in my office with LED light environment. I also found that even in Silent Mode, the CPU sometimes still hit 4.5~4.8Ghz with up to 52W max and 30W average, it should be more battery life if you disable the turbo boost, well, quite hassle to gain some juice but still, it is an available option too.
Price, conclusion
Lenovo, they are like dell, they like to have promotion each day, few times per month. Very few will buy their laptop in RRP price (Normal price), ether you get student 15% discount, or some times they have some running coupon code for 5% all the way to 45% depend on model. But for Legion, they offer less discount than other model during normal season. You can still request extra few % by chatting with the sales rep in live chat, some will give you freegift, some will provide extra discount code for you, they just want you to key in their rep number at the order so that they can have some job incentive (i guess) .
I purchased this Legion 7i with 20% discount, which cost me around RM6750 without any freegift except 2 Yrs Premium On-Site, thanks to my Citibank Card Promo Code (CITI30) , i also found that in some forum that ppl are buying with 20% Discount using LENXCIMB code, actually i also can use LENXHLB as i receive the same promo from Hong Leong Bank, too. But my CitiBank Credit Card give me extra 0.5% if i spend using their card, so, why not ? I tried to chat with the sales rep, they can offer max 15% without student card needed, that is the max they can, all 4 different sales rep tell the same, they said the 20% discount is highest, no other country has such offer, and it will be end soon (It did end after my 2nd purchase, at 17/Jul as i remember), now all code only gave 6% discount, so you need to try your luck to chat with them or wait for next promo.
To me, the price is more than fair, and if compare with other's it seems like cheaper, you dont get G-Sync at most other laptop, and you dont get same screen quality like other laptop, too. For this price, say, Asus G14, for RTX2060 model it sell even expensive at RM7199 as i remember, but that 2060 is Max-Q variant, and the screen quality is no where like Legion 7i. Well, i dont mean to bash that, but after 20% discount, the attractive will be goes to 7i more. My previous Y530 and Y7000 both brought at around 5000 +-, and both working very well and the MYCS (Lenovo Malaysia) service is very responsible to me, they will reply any request you ask, and they are very helpful, too. So, i come back to Lenovo again, this brand is my 2nd trust-able after Apple.

For below RM7000, the laptop worth the paid. The overall performance is impressive especially the RTX2060 actually improved so much compare to last year, and some review even prove that it better than last year RTX2070 from some laptop, and the overclocking work like charm. The chassis is solid and the built quality is on the premium side, which make it more appearing than the lower end 5-Series, although it do have some imperfection like flex and loud track pad, gaps between screen and keyboard, but it still feel solid when you hold it, it will not be this price if this hardware pack in more premium Apple-like chassis. The keyboard is fantastic, the RGB light is super bright although it quite a hassle to turn it off each time you power on the laptop. The Speaker is loud, which can also cover the fan noise, work as it should, nothing can be asking more. The temperature work as advertise although not great like some others laptop like Razer, but consider the continue full load of 85W and all core 4Ghz above and the graphic card crank up to 113W, while the fan is audible loud during full load but not sharp, this imperfect is forgivable. At the end, no laptop are perfect, every year there will be another replacement for this year top-end laptop, i would just buy what's the best to suit my budget.

There has still other laptop out there if you want to slot in for compare like Dell XPS and HP OMEN, but to me, at the time i purchase this laptop, below RM7000 is the best thing i can get.

Last, hope you all like my review and if any information is wrong please forgive me, as i am not really a professional person. Have a nice day and stay safe.

Nite
The two weeks passed faster than Yuki had expected. The final evening before Yuki planned to leave was the night of the Announcement Party. As they prepared for the party, Yuki was surprised to see Serren had polished his scales to a high sheen. His shining scales made him stand out in a rather spectacular way.
Serren was dressed in a style in which Yuki had not seen him before. Tight leather shirt over his bare chest, a pair of form-fitting tanned leggings, and a pair of glinting silver rings sat on his horns.
“Wow,” Yuki exclaimed as she glanced at the mirror before her, applying lip gloss, as well as some eyeshadow and eyeliner she had managed to create with Dr. Terasuki. She was missing mascara, but it was the best she could do with what she was given.
She applied the brown and gold glitter filled eyeshadow slowly, finding it worked well as long as she was careful
Yuki’s wings were much easier. Dr. Terasuki had helped her get a feather cleaning compound and conditioner that not only helped clean her feathers but also made them shine.
Serren walked up behind her and placed several chains of silver and gold, jewels around her neck.
There were so many that Yuki felt her neck pull down for a moment as Serren fastened them around her neck.
Yuki noticed that the lengths of the chains went down to her exposed bosom. “Do you have any more necklaces?” Yuki joked.
“Well, the rest of the jewelry that Allia had is for horns and her arms,” Serren said as he motioned to her beautiful backless golden gown’s sleeves, “and I think this is enough shimmer for your arm.”
“I guess dragons really like shiny objects, huh?” Yuki smiled up to Serren.
"You are my shining angel, so I would have to say 'yes'," Serren laughed, leaning down and kissing Yuki softly.
"oh, Serren," Yuki exclaimed as he kissed her softly.
"Come on," Serren beamed, "we don’t want to be too late.”
The pair flew across the city to wind up at Lazzerlth and Fezzick’s home.
Several other Nite had already arrived, including Murrika, Tassel, and Getther.
Yuki spotted all of them easily, as Murrika was wearing copious amounts of jewelry. Tassel wore far less, but still, more than Yuki would normally wear. Getther wore an outfit similar to Serren. Getther wore a set of glimmering bracelets on his wrists rather than anything on his horns.
Murrika and Tassel wore silver dresses, each set with different gems here and there, woven within the fabric at key portions of their bodies. Their horns each had jewelry draped between them and their tails had several gold and silver rings.
Getther was the first to notice Yuki and Serren, “Ah! I didn’t know you knew Lazz and Fezz!”
Serren grinned and gave Getther a hug as they landed, “we got a last-minute invite thanks to Fezzick.”
Murrika laughed, “I bet Lazz was thrilled about that!”
Tassel waved to Yuki, “Wow, Yuki! You look amazing! Who made your dress?”
Yuki smirked, “Byrran, he’s the best tailor in all of Cairro!”
Serren frowned, “Yuki-”
“I’m not going to hide from Byrran,” Yuki said, “I think everyone should appreciate all of his traits.”
Tassel nodded, “yeah, he did great!”
“Yes, he did,” Yuki smiled to herself as the group walked inside.
Inside there were decorations of silver and gold all over the room. There was a large table of hors d'oeuvres which many Niten dragons were chatting around. There were several large animal heads mounted on the walls. Yuki noticed one was of a particularly fearsome-looking Bronzi.
Lazzerlth laughed as Murrika walked in, “Murrika! You made it, you stone-cold killer!” She walked to her and gave her a firm hug.
Murrika hugged back tighter, giving Lazzerlth a powerful squeeze herself, “what's wrong, Lazz? Did laying that egg take too much out of you?” Murrika teased as Lazzerlth winced.
The two seemed to be working to hug each other as tightly as possible before Lazz relented, “alright, alright!” she laughed, “come on in! Fezz is minding the egg.”
Lazzerlth turned to Serren, smiling, “Hey, you guys made it too! Welcome.” She looked at Yuki, “You’re getting quite the tour of our society, aren’t yah?”
Yuki laughed, “well that’s the idea, I really wanted to see how this ‘announcement party’ works.”
“Oh, no. I meant all the jewelry,” Lazzerlth laughed, chains which were draped between her own horns shifted and caught the light as she did so.
“Oh, yeah! Sorry,” Yuki blushed.
Lazzerlth looked Yuki over, “that’s a really nice dress! Who made it for you?”
“Byrran!” Yuki boasted, “He has a shop on the other side of town.”
Lazzerlth smiled, “I’ve heard of him! Our local tailor around here, Rakklin, studied under him! I’ve heard great things about Byrran.”
“Rakklin? Oh, I will have to go Rakklin for any other clothing, actually,” Yuki pointed out, “that’s what Byrran informed us.”
“Oh no! Is Byrran closing shop?” Lazzerlth frowned, “I know the old timer’s been at it for a while but… well, what else is there to do when you’re that old?”
“He could die,” Yuki thought to herself, but smiled, “No, he just didn’t want to make any other clothing for an angel. Which is fine. Rakklin’s been very kind to us.”
“Oh really?” Lazzerlth lifted an eyebrow to Yuki, “I’m surprised the old-timer feels that way. That’s a shame,” Lazzerlth shook her head. “Just so you know, Yuki, I don’t agree with his beliefs.”
“I’d hope not,” Yuki beamed.
“Anyone who can rough it for two weeks, and kill a Ripper? She's a badass angel in my book!” Lazzerlth gave Yuki a thumbs up. “Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to meet with some other guests. So why don’t you make yourselves at home!” Lazzerlth chirped to Yuki and Serren before she left the two and greeted more guests.
Serren sighed once Lazzerlth was out of earshot, “Well done, Yuki.”
“I thought so,” Yuki grinned.
Serren shook his head.
“Oh, Serren,” Yuki grinned, “it’s fine. Let's' find Fezz!”
Serren nodded, “yes, that sounds like a good idea.”
In the main living room was a small altar of sorts. Sitting there at the center was a nest made of silver and gold, but with soft and matted golden fabric inside.
Fezzik was chatting with a man in white robes.
The robes were etched with simple blue fabric and unlike the other Dragons, he wore very little jewelry on him. One of the few pieces he did wear was a silver chain around his neck. Attached to the chain was a set of three interlocking iron circles. In his brown claws was a book. His green eyes turned to Yuki and Serren in surprise.
“Ah,” the robed Nite grinned, “a child of our Guardian’s favored son, Lucifer!”
Yuki stopped, confused, “you know about Dei religion?”
Fezzick laughed, “Well, he is a priest.”
“Our religions are the same,” the priest said as he straightened himself up, approaching Yuki, his tail reaching out to her.
As Yuki offered her hand, his tail wrapped around it, she noticed the tip of his tail was cut off, with an iron end-cap replacing the tip, making it flat. “Is that an injury?” she asked.
“Ah, no,” the priest laughed, “part of our traditions is the removal of the tail tip. It symbolizes sacrificing a part of oneself to serve the Guardians.”
Yuki nodded, “that’s a pretty intense commitment.”
“Indeed, it is not to be taken lightly,” he smiled, “I’m Scribe Nezzel Hatkher, a pleasure to meet you, Child of Lucifer.”
“Yuki Karkade,” Yuki said, smiling.
“Karkade,” Scribe Nezzel thought, “a Dei title, yet you’re mates with this young Nite?”
“Serren Misho,” Serren smiled, walking to Scribe Nezzel, the pair’s tails intertwining, “yes she is, Scribe.”
Scribe Nezzel nodded, “Will you take her family name, as is Niten tradition, Serren Misho?”
Serren frowned, “Well, uhm…”
“We hadn’t discussed it, you know, since our circumstances are special,” Yuki explained.
Scribe Nezzel smiled at them, “that you are, extremely special.”
“Excited, Fezz?” Serren offered.
“Very, nervous about being a father,” he rested his hand on the small egg.
“I envy you,” Serren admitted.
Yuki frowned, “I wish I could have a child with Serren.”
Scribe Nezzel smiled broadly, “who says you cannot?”
“Biology,” Yuki laughed.
“It is prophesied that if a union between a Nite Dragon and a special Dei Angel were to ever occur, that the fruit of such a union could save all,” Scribe Nezzel smiled, “needless to say, I will be keeping you in my prayers.”
Yuki lifted an eyebrow at him, “uh, thank you?”
“No, Yuki,” Scribe Nezzel smiled at her in awe, his green eyes looking deep into hers, “Thank the Guardians.”
Scribe Nezzel clapped his hands, “if everyone can gather around!”
All of the party members soon joined in the living room, all taking seats in large folding chairs set up for all of them.
“We are happily gathered here today to witness the choice that the Honored Huntress Lazzerlth Tammila and esteemed Carrier Fezzick Tammila have made regarding the future of the newest addition to our community,” Scribe Nezzel announced happily. “The birth of new life into our beautiful world is a testament to the Guardian’s many forms, for now, this egg is but a spirit…” he placed his hand on the egg, “and soon this spirit will become a child…” he grinned to Fezzick, “and sooner than many will know, that child will be a parent. Thus embodying our Guardians of the Holy Spirit, Cherished Child, and Most Holy Father.”
Yuki sat back, enjoying the interpretation of faith. It was similar to Dei’s, outside the number of deities.
“And, like all things,” Scribe Nezzel motioned to the circle around his neck, “back to the spirit once more. As we are born, so we return, as it began.”
Lazzerlth soon joined the pair at the altar.
“So, we now join in the revelry of our most honored community members, as they tell us the future path their child shall walk, in the light of the Guardians,” Scribe Nezzel instructed.
Lazzerlth smiled at Fezzick, “you’re sure?”
Fezzick smiled, “yes.”
“Then, I hope our son will be as strong, noble,” Lazzerlth beamed, “and goofy as his father.”
There was laughter through the crowd.
Fezzick grinned, “I hope so too.”
The room erupted in clapping as the party seemed to kick into gear from there, with many drinks and much food being served before Fezzick carried the small egg and nest into another room, vanishing for the rest of the night.
Scribe Nezzel mingled through the crowd, finding Yuki once more, “did you enjoy the ceremony?”
“Yes, it was lovely,” Yuki smiled at him.
“Have you seen such a ceremony before?” Scribe Nezzel smiled down at her.
“I can’t say I have,” Yuki admitted, “birth’s a little… messier for Dei Angels.”
“Yes,” Scribe Nezzel agreed, “you carry your child with you until the time of birth. A very harrowing experience, from what I’ve read.”
“It’s…” Yuki thought back to giving birth to Geoffrey and sighed, missing him all the more, “intense, yes.”
“It clearly creates a strong bond between mother and child,” Scribe Nezzel placed his hand on Yuki’s shoulder, sensing her longing for her son, “I’m sorry for your pain.”
“I’m not used to so many people sensing how I feel,” Yuki admitted, blushing.
“There is no shame in loving one’s child or mourning their absence,” Scribe Nezzel agreed, “and though you may not be used to it yet, I’m sure you’ll see that the emotions of those around you will become indistinguishable from your own, over time.”
“Isn’t that a lack of individuality?” Yuki asked.
Scribe Nezzel gave Yuki a grin, “That is a very Dei concept, ‘individual liberty’. You’ll find the Niten Dragons focus far more on the community than the individual. But despite that, you do not cease being an individual just because you now also feel the emotions of your community.”
Yuki forced a smile, “I suppose.”
“Issues you’ll need to wrestle with if you intend to stay on Nite,” Scribe Nezzel explained.
Yuki’s smile faded, “What?”
Scribe Nezzel leaned down, “we Scribes are a bit more empathic than the average Nite, my dear. I can sense your desire to return to your son and it is a powerful force, indeed!” He beamed, “I know little can stop you from going to your son on Dei, but I would remind you that the love of your life, Serren, is here before you now. So whatever choice you make, it will break your heart one way or the other.”
Yuki sighed as she turned to spot Serren laughing with Lazzerlth.
Upon seeing her look at him, Serren gave her a warm glowing smile and lifted a glass of bubbly yellow liquor in a delicate flute glass.
Yuki smiled warmly back to him, feeling the joy and fun he was having. Had she ever had this much fun on Dei? She thought to herself.
“I don’t mean to make your decision harder,” Scribe Nezzel continued, “just trying to give you a fresh perspective.”
“Thank you,” Yuki said, as she turned to the Scribe, “but I know what I am going to do.”
Scribe Nezzel bowed slightly to Yuki, “then, Child of Lucifer, I bid you a safe journey.”
“Thank you,” Yuki answered nervously as she turned from him.
“I wish you the best of luck,” Scribe Nezzel warned, “be careful not to anger any Guardians.”

After an evening of drinking, eating, and celebrating, Yuki and Serren had returned home and promptly fell asleep.
Well, Serren had fallen asleep. Yuki, however, was still wide awake, her mind racing from the day’s events.
Yuki laid with Serren that evening, cuddled close to him in bed. She sighed heavily as she pressed against him.
Serren shifted slightly in bed, pulling Yuki closer to him possessively.
Yuki closed her eyes, doing her best to sleep. Her stomach was in knots about tomorrow’s plan.
Tomorrow her plan would go into action. Yuki just hoped that Briggett would make good on her promise.

The next day, Yuki held on tightly to Serren as they flew through the air.
“Why am I carrying you?” Serren forced a smile.
Yuki heaved a heavy sigh, “it’s how we met.”
“So you wanted it to be how we depart?” Serren sighed.
Yuki laid her head on his shoulder as Serren made the long trip through the air, flying to Metro Prime.
Serren had been prepared for the trip, as he suspected that Rezzolina might be looking for them to be using some form of public transportation.
Even so, after hours of gliding, Serren was exhausted by the time they arrived at the shuttle.
Serren landed and nearly collapsed as he did so.
“Oh, Serren!” Yuki cried, hugging him, “I told you to take a break if it was too much for you!”
Serren hugged her tightly, “I’ll be fine. I wouldn’t have done it if I couldn’t take it,” though in Serren’s mind, he was unsure if he could take it. He’d be paying for the strain he placed on his body later, that much he knew.
“Why put yourself through all of this pain?!” Yuki exclaimed as she felt a seed of doubt in her mind grow at that moment. “What if this is a mistake? What if I can’t get back to Nite?” she looked to Serren’s pained face. “I want to be with him forever… but why am I putting distance between us?”
Serren smiled up to her, “because I want to be a father.”
“Oh, Serren,” Yuki cried, tears leaking from her eyes.
“I am putting myself through this pain because I want to be a father,” Serren explained, smiling to her.
Yuki laughed, “Oh, Serren…” she whispered as she kissed him softly.
Serren now got to his feet and hugged Yuki tightly, “be safe, and bring your son to his new home,” he whispered, “come back to me my Yuki,” Serren said softly as tears ran down his cheeks and snout.
“I will,” Yuki smiled through her tears, hugging Serren tightly, “I promise, I will.”
With that, Serren reluctantly let go of Yuki as she ran towards the cargo bay.
Yuki typed in the access code that Briggett had provided her and with that, the doors opened.
Yuki did her best to quietly close the doors, and move through the dark cargo bay towards the crew quarters.
Briggett opened the door from the cargo area to the crew quarters, her eyes narrowed on Yuki. “I thought I felt you in here,” she looked around, “Come on, I have the cameras off and there’s only so much time before launch control starts to question why that is.”
Yuki nodded, “Were you able to get enough rations?.”
Briggett nodded, “I’ve got plenty, not to mention the food we’re transporting, but we shouldn’t need to dig into that. You’re not that big,” Briggett laughed.
“Good,” Yuki followed Briggett as she made her way through the crew quarters.
Yuki passed a series of beds, each with restraints to keep crew members in their sleeping positions throughout their rest in zero gravity.
Yuki smiled, having missed sleeping in zero gravity.
“In here,” Briggett opened a small door and motioned to a seat with a sturdy harness. “You’ve got no suit, just a heads up: if we depressurize you don’t have much of a chance to survive.”
Yuki rolled her eyes, “unless you’re wearing a suit the entire mission that’s a moot point. Besides, it’s not like we can get rescued in a timely manner if that happens: suit O2 would run out long before that.”
Briggett sighed heavily, “I hate that you’re right, but it’s still nice to think of it as a lifeline.”
Yuki felt Briggett’s concern, “sorry, I know this is a dangerous business but I always felt like keeping a realistic look was better than blind optimism.”
“Well, try to be a little more optimistic, okay?” Briggett sighed, “and don’t leave this room. There are no cameras in here, as normally there is no crew. So you’re going to be chilling out in here, alone, for several hours.”
Yuki gave a nod.
“I suggest you take a nap,” Briggett shook her head, “it’s going to be a long night.”

Almost twelve hours later Rezzolina stood in her command center, looking over multiple monitors as technicians spread throughout the room gave readings, and went over numbers.
“Chairwoman, the final metrics before launch,” an aide handed Rezzolina a digital tablet.
Rezzolina looked over the numbers, an eyebrow piqued, “Do we have an open channel to the captain?”
“Yes, Madam Chairwoman,” the aide said.
“Put her through,” Rezzolina ordered as she examined the information before her.
Briggett’s face soon flashed on a screen. She was strapped into a seat with two other female Nite, all wearing protective flight suits.
“Hey, Rezza!” Briggett greeted Rezzolina as the video screen appeared.
“Is everything in order over there?” Rezzolina asked.
“Yes, we are good to go,” Briggett grinned.
“Captain,” Rezzolina began, officially, “I see we’ve loaded the ship with more fuel than needed as well as additional rations… why is that?”
“Precaution,” Briggett reasoned.
“Oh?” Rezzolina asked, curiously.
“I had a bad feeling,” Briggett explained, “just wanted to be safe.”
Rezzolina gave another nod, “that is why you’re the captain.”
Briggett gave a thumbs up to Rezzolina. “Well, let's get this terrible experiment over with,” Rezzolina sighed, “At least we’ll get the final shipment of materials needed for Deepsight.”
The room was silent, hanging on Rezzolina’s next words.
“The launch preparations are underway, transferring launch authority to you, Captain,” Rezzolina announced.
“Thank you, Chairwoman,” Briggett smiled, “all systems nominal, preflight checks are completed, the launch is a go. Beginning countdown.”
While Briggett and the two other Nite were prepping the launch, Yuki finally saw a notification appear on a screen in front of her.
Yuki quickly checked her restraints and ensured her own flight suit was prepared. Luckily the tailor, Rakklin, was happy to fashion a new suit out of her ruined old one and Yuki had managed to salvage her old helmet from her bubble ship.
Yuki smiled, feeling the adrenaline rush as she saw the countdown shift from 1 minute down to 30 seconds.
Yuki prepared her breathing techniques for the inevitable g-forces of launch, her favorite part of space travel.
“T-minus 30 seconds,” Briggett announced.
Rezzolina stood watching the monitors, checking side monitors for any warning signs or error messages.
“T-Minus 10, 9, 8...” Briggett began her countdown.
Rezzolina crossed her hands behind her back, her tail wrapping around her leg nervously. Despite never having lost a ship, or suffered any kind of accident during a launch, it was always a concern for Rezzolina. Something always in the back of her mind.
“...2, 1!” Briggett announced as she promptly launched the ship.
Yuki found she was thrust into the back of her seat and, to her shock, found she was moving forward! Not the direction she expected!
“Exit Velocity fast approaching, ramp in five!” Briggett announced.
“RAMP?!” Yuki shouted to no one, only hearing the announcements from the ship’s PA system.
“Prepare for extreme G-force!” Briggett announced.
Rezzolina watched on a screen as the ship barrelled down a massive track, its speed increasing as magnetic rails propelled the ship faster and faster as it neared the end of the track, which had a ramp which shot upwards, eventually moving from a 180-degree angle to a 90-degree angle.
“Engine check, clear, point of no return in 10 seconds,” Briggett warned.
Rezzolina turned to a technician, “How is the engine?”
“Ready to fire,” the technician advised.
“5 seconds to the point of no return! Engines firing!” Briggett shouted into the radio.
Yuki felt another burst of speed thrusting her forward as the entire ship began to shake and shudder.
“Engines are engaged!” Briggett shouted, her breathing labored.
Rezzolina clenched her jaw and wrung her hands behind her back as the ship blasted up the massive ramp.
“Engine temps nominal, current speed at 60%,” Briggett announced, “Pushing the engines to full power!”
Yuki was doing her best to keep the air in her lungs, doing all of her launch breathing she had trained for. “Did she just say full power*?!”*
Rezzolina watched as the engines now blasted a massive plume of fire and smoke as it reached half-way up the large track. The bottom of the track had fallen away, allowing the plume to blast downward into a designated channel.
Briggett clenched her jaw as the ship shook and rattled as it left the track and blasted upwards into the air.
A technician near Rezzolina called out into her headset, which was broadcast to the entire room, “engine output nominal, trajectory stable. Shuttle ‘Goodwill’ has successfully launched!”
Rezzolina’s tail unwrapped from her leg and she finally let the breath she was holding in her chest out. “Thank Guardians,” she sighed in relief.
The room erupted in celebratory cheering and clapping.
“Be safe out there Shuttle ‘Goodwill’,” Rezzolina instructed.
Briggett kept her breathing firm and steady until, finally, the shuttle left the atmosphere. “That we will,” Briggett said happily, adrenaline still pumping through her veins as she unbuckled herself from the restraints.
“Launch engines cooling, interplanetary engines on warm-up cycle,” Islla, a black and green speckled scaled Niten woman, confirmed to Briggett. Her green eyes examined the console before her.
“Navigation systems online, plotting our slingshot around the moon,” a blue scaled Niten female, Tarrabetha announced.
Briggett walked to the communications console, “cutting coms to emergency contact only for diagnostic purposes. We’ll reach back once we’ve completed our slingshot.” With that Briggett flipped a switch which turned the communications panel red.
Islla frowned to Briggett, “Captain, why are we on the emergency only comms? Is something wrong with the array?”
“Diagnostics,” Briggett said, turning to Islla and Tarrabetha, “remember how I said we might have a guest?”
Tarrabetha smiled happily, “wait, the angel girl is here?”
“If she survived the launch,” Islla’s green eyes growing concerned.
“She’s a skilled pilot, I’m sure she can survive a simple launch,” Briggett said, rolling her eyes as she floated away from the cockpit and headed towards the back of the ship, where Yuki was tucked away in an emergency seating area.
Once Briggett got to the doorway, she unlocked it, opening it slowly, “Yuki? You alive?”
Yuki had already unstrapped herself and was smiling wide, “yes! Oh, that was amazing!”
“Good,” Briggett smiled, “Because Tarrabetha has so many questions for you about Dei angels,” Briggett rolled her eyes.
Yuki blushed, “I’m an open book.”

At the end of the day, Rezzolina finally found herself exhausted. “Why are they on emergency comms only?” Rezzolina asked a technician.
“Briggett willingly put the ship onto it once they went into orbit, she said she was doing so for diagnostic purposes,” a young technician informed Rezzolina, “I’ve been making sure everything is okay since. We’re just not going to see the live video feed or anything.”
Rezzolina nodded, “very well, if there is an issue with the ship make sure they stop at Deep Sight for repairs before their slingshot maneuver.”
“I will, Chairwoman Misho,” the technician smiled, “you should get home. We’ll call you if there’s an issue.”
Rezzolina nodded, “have a good night everyone. Thank you all for your hard work on the final mission.”
The crew bid Rezzolina a good evening as she flew back to her apartment. As she landed on the balcony and unlocked her door, she considered ordering in.
As she walked into her apartment and flicked on the lights, she was met with an odd sight of Serren snoring on her couch. “Serren?” Rezzolina asked as she walked over to him, “what are you doing?”
Serren continued to snore soundly on the couch.
Rezzolina narrowed her eyes and gave him a firm shove, knocking him to the ground.
“Ooof!” Serren grunted as he hit the floor, “ooh… I rolled off the couch.”
“Because I pushed you,” Rezzolina walked around the couch to where Serren was laying on the floor, “what are you doing here?”
“Resting,” Serren said, stating the obvious.
Rezzolina exhaled through her nostrils, exasperated. That’s when a thought struck her, “Serren, where is Yuki?”
“That depends,” Serren countered, “did the shuttle launch yet?”
“Serren!” Rezzolina roared, “Where is Yuki?!”
Serren groaned, “she’s… on the ship.”
Rezzolina inhaled through her nostrils, a low growl rumbling in her throat. “You’re in big trouble mister.”
“I know,” Serren forced a smile, tears leaking from his eyes as he did so, “but it’s what she wanted.”
“Oh,” Rezzolina sighed, kneeling next to Serren and cradling him in her arms, “Serren.”

Sorjoy stood in his office, a headset blinking on his head, “nothing from the terrorist yet?”
Palma’s voice rang in his ear from the earpiece, “not yet. I smell bullshit, personally. He gave it all up too easy. Bastard is protecting someone.”
“What about the other miner?” Sorjoy asked.
“Guy skipped the country with his payout, took it in cash, not a clue where he is,” Palma admitted.
“If you suspect this… what was his name?” Sorjoy asked.
“Jophiel Hinterland,” Palma answered.
“Right,” Sorjoy sighed, “if you suspect this Jophiel to be feeding you false information, don’t you think the other miner is likely involved in some way?”
“Could be,” Palma thought out loud, “or it could be someone else.”
“Such as?” Sorjoy asked.
“I don’t want to say who,” Palma informed, “but I have a feeling that we might have someone on the inside, working against us.”
Sorjoy looked out his window down to the city below, “have you been keeping tabs on the old bird, Trueman?”
“I have, not a whole lot of movement from him. There’s a small wedding for Hoffman he seemed interested in. Otherwise, he’s literally been staring at the diamond all night and day. To be honest,” Palma confessed, “it’s creepy. I thought he was dead a few times.”
“We should be so lucky,” Sorjoy said as his red phone began to ring. “What in Oblivion…?”
“Problem?” Palma asked.
“I’ll call you back,” Sorjoy said as he reached the phone. It was on its third ring, and upon reaching its fourth ring, he answered, removing his headset, “Sorjoy speaking.”
Gallor’s voice crackled over the line, “Mr. Sorjoy? Uh… yes, uh… there’s been a development,” he stuttered, four taps now loudly striking a desk could be audibly heard.
“A new development?” Sorjoy asked, his voice growing concerned.
“Y-yes... Uh… you see…” Gallor stuttered.
“Gallor,” Sorjoy spoke calmly, “settle yourself.”
“Sorry,” Gallor cleared his throat, “it’s just… Chairwoman Misho? She’s… livid. Personally, I can’t really blame her.”
“What has her so ruffled?” Sorjoy huffed.
“Well,” Gallor sighed heavily, four sets of four taps now struck his desk loudly, “Yuki Karkade? She stowed away onboard the final shuttle.”
Sorjoy felt the blood drain from his face and sat down, the pit of his stomach dropping, “oh.”
“Yes,” Gallor explained, “I know there’s a mountain of paperwork for us to complete and it’s completely inconvenienced everyone involved, including her new mate.”
Sorjoy ran his hand over his face and through his hair, “when will the shuttle arrive?” Sorjoy asked as he calmed himself.
“It’s at least three months from you, Mr. Sorjoy,” Gallor explained, “sadly the captain is already enroute and changing course now would mean a complete refueling of the shuttle and a scrub of the mission.”
“Then scrub the mission,” Sorjoy ordered.
“Mr. Sorjoy?” Rezzolina’s authoritative voice chimed in.
Sorjoy flinched, “Chairwoman, I-”
“While I understand that Mrs. Karkade has utterly agitated this entire situation, might I remind you, sir, that your return shipment is required for our own endeavors?” Rezzolina countered.
“Chairwoman if I may-” Sorjoy tried to interject.
“The materials we exchange are not done so without reason, we are counting on those materials to be delivered to our station for construction efforts,” Rezzolina stated.
“Yes, Chairwoman, I understand that, but-” Sorjoy was cut off once more.
“So, I will not be canceling an entire mission just because of one stowaway,” Rezzolina snapped, “now if you feel you truly do not want Mrs. Karkade to return, feel free to return her with the rest of your materials.”
“Madam Chairwoman, if I could just get a word in edgewise-” Sorjoy was cut off once more.
“However if you wish to keep her, with the rest of our excess, feel free as well, this is merely a courtesy call,” Rezzolina warned, “the ball, or in this case Mrs. Karkade, is in your court.”
“Madam Chairwoman aren’t you being a little harsh? Mr. Sorjoy may wish to-” Gallor’s words were cut off as the line went dead.
Sorjoy slammed the phone down on his desk and placed his head in his hands. “Karkade,” Sorjoy growled.
Sorjoy’s hands now ran through his hair. He tugged at it slightly, growling to himself.
With a sudden motion, he slammed his hands onto his desk and hurled everything off of it, glaring out the window, “Guardian Damn you Karkade!!”
After his outburst, Sorjoy stormed to his office door, slamming it open with such force that Cleo nearly jumped out of her seat. “Cleo!” Sorjoy barked.
“Yes, Mr. Sorjoy?!” Cleo gasped, shocked at his outburst.
“Get someone to clean up my office,” Sorjoy barked, moving to the elevator, “I’m going on a personal trip, where you are not needed.”
Cleo rolled her violet eyes, getting to her feet, her tablet under her arm as she hurried after him, “Sadly, Mr. Sorjoy, you pay me to be needed.”
“I do not need you for everything,” Sorjoy glared.
“And how are you going on your ‘personal trip’?” Cleo asked, “taking a cab?”
Sorjoy’s lip quivered as Cleo tapped on her tablet, a phone ringing through the speaker.
Sorjoy lifted an eyebrow as Naberious’s deep voice soon resonated from the tablet.
“This is Nab,” he said shortly.
“Naberious, it’s Cleopatra. Mr.Sorjoy requires transportation immediately,” Cleo ordered.
“Enroute in five,” Naberious said before the line went dead.
Sorjoy looked to Cleo as the elevator slowly descended the tower. His eyes lingered, for a moment, over her lovely form. She was incredibly beautiful, but her attitude, to him, was so very off-putting.
Yet Sorjoy’s mind raced as he tried to think of some way to avoid using Trueman’s suggested methodology.
Sorjoy had already contacted Palma about the enigmatic Mimi. She ran the entire escort business in Serph City and probably for the larger territory. If someone of his stature needed an escort, whether for the night or for the long term, she was the go-to for the rich, the famous, and the infamous alike.
He was unsure what Trueman and Mimi had in store for him and the longer he worked alongside the beautiful and intelligent Cleopatra, the more he found himself wondering if Trueman was right about the two of them being incompatible.
“I suppose I should thank you for your diligence,” Sorjoy said.
“You pay me for that diligence, sir. No need to thank me,” Cleo advised, tapping on her tablet, “but your praise is appreciated.”
Sorjoy looked at the floor numbers displayed inside the elevator, as they appeared to be moving especially slowly. “Perhaps, as a reward, I could invite you to a private dinner.”
Cleo stopped tapping, turning to Sorjoy, “Excuse me, sir?”
“I’m just saying, for going above and beyond, I should thank you,” Sorjoy turned to her, looking into her violet eyes.
Cleo looked back, giving him a suspicious look, “Sir, it’s highly inappropriate for me to accept a gift of such nature from you in exchange for my services.”
Sorjoy turned from her, “then maybe you can accept it not as a gift.”
“I don’t-” Cleo was cut off.
“I’m asking you out to dinner, privately,” Sorjoy said, “outside of work.”
Cleo inhaled sharply and was silent as her mind raced.
Sorjoy took a deep breath, “if you’re not-”
“Sir, that is not necessary, my pay is more than enough,” Cleo said as the doors opened.
“What?” Sorjoy asked, shocked. “Did she just reject me?”
Cleo took a step out of the elevator, remaining silent, “I’m not good for him. I’m too broken and he’d never accept me if he knew the truth. Palma would brag about having me first, and that alone would sour Sorjoy’s opinion of me. Not to mention I’m sure Palma would blab about me being an escort for Mimi,” she thought to herself.
Sorjoy frowned, “you can’t just turn me down like that!”
“Sir, I do not wish to discuss it further,” Cleo said, moving through the lobby, “your transportation is waiting.”
“Well, this is not going to be an awkward limo ride,” Sorjoy thought to himself sarcastically as he followed Cleo through the lobby. His eyes were drawn to her curvy rear and once he caught himself, he turned away from her. “Excellent. Now that she’s forbidden fruit, I just want her all the more.”
Cleo slipped into the limousine, moving as far as possible from Sorjoy’s normal seat and tapping on her tablet once more.
Sorjoy slid into the limo, unsure of how to handle the now increasingly awkward situation.
As Sorjoy slipped inside, a small envelope was waiting on the seat. Sorjoy looked to the envelope, and saw it had no postmark, only one name scribbled in barely legible letters on the front: “Ms. Walters.”
Cleo turned to Sorjoy after a few moments, “Sir, where are we heading?”
Sorjoy looked to Cleo, “Did you have an envelope on you, Cleo?”
“An envelope?” Cleo lifted a well-sculpted eyebrow, “no.”
Sorjoy flipped opened the envelope and pulled out a letter inside.
“Dear Cleopatra,
Your Employer has secrets he is hiding from you. If you wish to know these secrets, then please respond to us. Our leader Persphone will find you one way or another.
Sincerely Cerberus”
Sorjoy looked up to Cleopatra, “What is the meaning of this?”
Cleo’s face twisted into a confused and distressed grimace, “Mr. Sorjoy, you know more about whatever is in that letter than I do.”
Sorjoy handed Cleo the letter, “Explain this, Cleo.”
Cleo picked up the letter, and read it slowly, her eyes slowly grew wide as she looked up to Sorjoy. “Mr. Sorjoy, I swear I know nothing of this! Nor do I know anyone named Cerberus!”
“Oh? They seem interested in you,” Sorjoy accused.
“They may want to try to use me to get to you, but I promise you that I would never do so!” Cleo defended.
“So you would have told me about this letter if you had read it without my knowledge?” Sorjoy demanded.
Cleo narrowed her eyes on him, “Yes, sir, I would, as this letter is evidence of whatever this Cerberus is up to!”
Sorjoy reached out for the letter, “give it here.”
Cleo did so without resistance, “Sir, I promise you, I have no clue how or why such a letter would be addressed to me. I am telling you the Guardian honest truth.”
Sorjoy looked the letter over some more, giving Cleo the occasional sidelong glance.
Cleo shifted in her seat, now wondering if she should have accepted the dinner invitation just to build up more good graces with Sorjoy. Now she feared she would wind up losing her job because of a letter she had nothing to do with.
“Sir,” Cleo took a deep breath, her knuckles white while grabbing at her tablet, “Please believe me: I have nothing to do with this letter.”
Sorjoy folded the letter and slipped it into his blazer pocket, “we’ll see about that.”
Cleo turned from him, her brow furrowed in worry.
Sorjoy looked Cleo over, “I’m sure you have nothing to do with the letter. You’ve given me no reason to distrust you so far, Cleo.”
Cleo looked back to Sorjoy, “Mr. Sorjoy?”
Sorjoy turned from her, “I’ve trusted you with far more of my personal life than I give most of my close family, Cleo. If you were a threat to me, I would know,” he moved his eyes to Naberious in the driver’s seat. “Besides, at this point, I’d be lost without you.”
Cleo blinked in confusion, “Sir?”
Sorjoy spoke to Naberious, “We need to get going all the more.”
“And where, exactly, were we going?” Naberious asked.
Sorjoy gave a serious glare to Cleo, “Trueman Manor.”
