I've been thinking about ways to sell Bitcoin to users/friends who are non-technical but want to hold Bitcoin as a novelty or investment. The idea would be very basic; load a wallet with 1BTC on a USB and ship it to the user. They can just store the USB knowing it securely holds a Bitcoin or plug it in and check/spend the balance anytime. Here are my questions (forgive my ignorance on wallet features):
Is there a wallet that would allow the user to plug in the USB for the first time, open the wallet, and add their own password to secure the wallet? i.e. I don't want people to think that because I loaded the wallet, that I could possible spend the Bitcoin because I recorded the private key.
Is there a wallet that I can use that hides the private key until a password is set by the user? That way the user can just store the USB without being worried about setting a password immediately, or set a password and record their private key.
Since Ledger is pretty cheap, would this be an option for me given my requirements?
Any other ideas?
Again, I simply want a secure solution for sending a loaded wallet on USB whereas the receiver has complete control over the BTC.

This question is in regards to my laptop. I do not own a smart phone, just a laptop, no desktop. I have used this laptop for lots of pr0n, nothing deep webby, but lots of just filthy stuff, this laptop is also 6 YEARS old. Also my Remote Procedure Call service runs all the time for some reason, if I turn it off by brute force tasking ending in task manager, after 3-10 minutes, computer crashes, and then reboots. Also if I leave my computer sitting, something called "com surrogate" starts running, it uses lots of data and I can't figure out what the hell it is, all this remains after full system install. Edited: Said reboot, I ment install/re-install. windows 8. I feel like I REALLLLLLLLY shouldn't use this laptop for any crypto currency intent, what is your opinion on this reddit? I have no clue if someone has a keylogger or something on my computer. I remember a while back I used something like CKill or BKill or some shit, some weird intense program that was able to find something running deep within the services of my computer, Cscan? Idk, anyway it found it, stopped it, and then it removed it, but I had to do something very specific after that step that I did not understand, so it didn't work. Anyway. I am somewhat computer savvy, nothing I would consider "computer smart", but my gut is telling me NOT to do it on this laptop. I already installed the bitcoin.COM wallet accidentally. It was fine it seemed. Then I was told its not .org, removed it, tried electrum, which gives me errors on install. I realize my computer is likely the issue. Too bad you can't just have a USB Bitcoin Wallet. :( Some USB's are like 1TB now, I am sure they have the technology to do this. :(

Write a piece of software that will transform cheap usb sticks into bitcoin wallets, so we can combine them together into multisigs and have them stored into different locations for extra security.
Remember folks, your Bitcoin isn't stored in your hardware/software wallet like a USB stick, but on the blockchain... The same private keys can be used across multiple devices at the same time... TL:DR - Vendor lock-in isn't a thing with decent wallets + keep your seed offline and secure
